One of the new mechanics coming with Scarlet & Violet is an old one! Welcome the return of Pokemon ex!
If you have been playing the Pokemon TCG since 2011, then you will recall Pokemon EX. Basic Pokemon with plenty of HP and hard hitting attacks. These Pokemon EX first debut during the Black & White era and continued into the XY era.
Though, we are now seeing Pokemon ex with the release of Scarlet & Violet. This is more like the original Pokemon ex that was first release during the Ruby & Sapphire era of the TCG. These Pokemon can be Basic, Stage 1 or Stage 2. They get higher HP the higher the stage. They can also have powerful attacks. Still, just like Pokemon EX, Pokemon ex also give up two prizes when knocked out.
Tera Pokemon ex

Based on Terastral Pokemon, there will be Tera Pokemon ex. They will be Pokemon ex that will feature unique artwork of the Pokemon. This is suppose to be the Pokemon Terastralized.
These Pokemon will also have a special rule at the top of the card. For the Scarlet & Violet set, Tera Pokemon ex will take no damage from attacks when they are on the Bench.
Art Rare Cards

Did you love all the special art cards that was release during the late Sword & Shield era of the Pokemon TCG? Well, then you will love to see the make an official return in Scarlet & Violet.
