Thanks for clearing up the confusion with things being subject to change. You are APPROVED.
Lance Harper [Team Awesome]: @XaiakuX
Thanks for updating that. You are now APPROVED as well.
Just realized Sabi put hers into the old post. I'm extremely tired now and don't want to just half-you-know-what a form, so I'm extremely sorry but I can't look you over tonight.

Name: Atala Pici
Gender: Female
Species: Merfolk
Age: 25
Team: Jupiter Mining Corporation
Description: Atala has short, stringy dark brown hair which is stiff with salt and, of course, dark sea blue eyes. She doesn't get much sun for obvious reasons, so her skin is basically pure white and she sunburns very easily. When underwater, which is most of the time, she possesses a silvery fish tail. Her fingernails and toenails are usually painted a shade of silvery-blue to match both her eyes and her tail. There's a stripe of missing scales down one side of her tail- in her human form it manifests as a long scar. She got it from a vicious Sharpedo attack.
Personality: Atala is fairly smart, but only about such things that exist underwater. She is rarely away from home, seeing no need for it, and as such can be incredibly naive about the way some things work on land, or just about land itself. She is especially bewildered by unfamiliar Pokemon. Overall she is generally kind and friendly, but only to those she trusts. She can be very paranoid and distrustful, especially of people who are not fellow merfolk.
Background: Atala has always been nervous- in her youth it was difficult for her to go to school for fear of being judged or mocked. When she did go, she was intensely shy aside from confiding in a few friends. One of these friends used her secrets against her, and this drove Atala further into her shell. She didn't become more social until she was forced to for work- now she is largely over those issues, but still finds it difficult to reach out to strangers, especially those of different species.
She has two younger siblings, both sisters, and a twin brother. Her parents are missing or dead; they simply disappeared, along with several other researchers, while charting an unexplored deep-sea trench. The four had good relationships when they were children, accentuated by the fact that they tended to have to move around a lot for the sake of their parents work. Often, they were the only friends that the others had. These relationships disintegrated after their parents vanished, the siblings separated and do not contact one another very often. Her sister's names are Kelly and Sunn- her brother is Kody. None of the four know the specifics of their parents' work including Atala herself.
Atala now works at a laboratory that keeps land-Pokémon underwater for the sake of studying. They are a subsidiary of the group Jupiter Mining Corporation, which, among other things, studies the effects that different environments have on Pokémon. She is fascinated by the ones she hasn't seen before, and sometimes also by the ones that she has seen. This is a wing of Pokémon studies, also called pokeology. She has a college degree, and is fairly skilled at it. She feels comfortable with her Pokémon subjects the way she rarely does with other humanoids, and occasionally confides in them.
Pokémon: Dragalge (M), Lanturn (F), Azurill (F), Empoleon (M), Tentacruel (M), Togekiss (F)
Other: Atala dislikes guns and in general they do not work well (or at all) underwater, so her weapon of choice is a long-bladed fishing knife.

An EXTREMELY creative character. You might have been better off playing a Neko, but Angel is fine as well. I wish I was in on the formulation of this, but I really have no problem with it at all. It's really creative and could be something that could drive some parts of the RP in unexpected ways. You are APPROVED.
Atala Pici [Jupiter Mining Corporation]: @Marius
I can't really tell if you're serious or not since it's fairly short, but you have the bare length minimums and the required information. Although not mandatory, I would have liked to see what the background of JMC was in a setting that doesn't support their premise, but I realize that's not up to you. You are APPROVED.

That's up to you Marius. You have the minimum length requirements and info. It's just kind of short and not all that informative. If you feel like it though, please do. I'd like to see a cohesive early life, middle life, and near present life story, as well as maybe something pertaining to JMC. The last is kind of impossible since there's no space travel of any kind.

I may make a slight edit on mine if that is allowed after approval that is? Just to the Pokemon team that is (since it hasn't been shown off or mentioned yet).

Name: Pohe Vahoc
Gender: Female
Species: Angel
Age: 26
Team: Phoenix Battalion
Description:
To put it simply, Pohe stands at a rather gangly 5’7”. She has red hair and piercing amber eyes, and her clothing seems to consist of heavy cloth that does not burn easily. For the most part she wears long sleeved, brown shirts with a black vest overlaying it, and a pair of darker blue jeans paired with steel toed boots. A heavy belt filled with tools, such as screwdrivers, hammers, and nails, helped keep the jeans up as well as store items. A necklace with a gleaming white fang, said to be the fang of Entei, hangs around her neck, a gift from her older brother.
When she leaves the shop, she tends to wear a draping, faded grey cloak around herself. While there is a hood, she does not wear it to hide her face - the important part is that it covers her entire body, especially her arms.
Now, one important thing to notice is that she does not have wings. At least, not in the conventional sense, anyway. During her time in the womb, an incredibly rare genetic defect caused the cells that formed her wings to attach and develop on her arms, a condition known as Aviersion Syndrome. This caused severe deformities (she was unlucky enough to get the severest form) in that her arms were lengthened abnormally, reaching down close to her knees. Additionally, she was born with a thumb, index, and middle finger that are also longer than normal, but not nearly as severely as her arm length. Rustic red feathers cover her arms in sparse waves, leading to scraggly, ragged flight feathers that are barely an inch long. Naturally, this means she is incapable of flight. She tends to wear light metal gauntlets on her hands that have a ring and pinkie finger on them, to give the illusion that her hands are normal – and also to protect her fingers from her line of work. She only has six, if you count the thumbs, after all!
Personality:
Pohe is…somewhat eccentric. Having been bullied, ridiculed, and otherwise become an outcast, she is socially awkward. Reclusive to a fault, she prefers to stay away from people in general. Pokemon are an exception, as she finds they tend not to judge – due to their ever changing bodies, they accept her for her different appearance, likening it to being an evolution of her own. That being said, those she has become friends with will know her as being curt, no nonsense, and lacking much of a sense of humor – what she does have is often sadistic and dark in nature. She can be mean, but at least with friends it usually has a reason, and she can realize what she said was wrong and retract it, albeit awkwardly. She can also be highly sarcastic.
Pohe is very set in her ways, stubborn, and ambitious. She tends to ignore safety and often crosses the morality line in her pursuit of science and answers, which can be very alienating. This leads her to conflict with quite a few religions as well as people in general, so she tends to not really be all that religious herself, and will roll her eyes at anyone who spouts what she deems as “nonsense”. Pohe is incredibly protective over her own work, and will snap at others who try to bring it down – she’ll take constructive criticism, but not after yelling at you for it and then having time to think on it. She really hates being wrong.
She is very insecure when it comes to talking to large groups, especially in person, so she tends to avoid it. She tends to clam up when placed in this situation, but her brash, rude attitude will come back as soon as it becomes a smaller group or she can hide herself. She does not, however, hide her brilliance, but she does not flaunt it either. Overall she prefers to keep a low profile.
Background:
Pohe was born to a poor family in Lumiose City, in Kalos. Her mother worked as a waitress, while her father worked as a construction worker. Neither made much, and couldn’t afford any possible treatments for her condition – with two other children as well, it was just too difficult. Pohe went to school, but due to severe bullying for her condition wound up being homeschooled, where she discovered her knack for working with machines and building things when her father had to repair their toaster. At that moment her schooling took a different route – he began to teach her all about engineering and magic. However, Pohe wasn’t as strong with magic as others of her age were, so she largely focused on the former, and flourished. Life was hard, but it wasn’t unbearable.
Then the accident happened when Pohe was 14. Her father had been operating near a crane when the ropes that held the steel beams snapped, sending it on top of him as well as others. He was killed instantly, and the resulting lawsuit awarded them a handsome sum of money. Pohe was devastated, having been so close to her father, and withdrew into herself. Her brother, a Pokemon Trainer, was not able to come back in time for the funeral but sent her the fang necklace, and her older sister fell into drug abuse to deal with the pain. Her mother continued to be a waitress, but was more distant and cross with Pohe than before – likely because she reminded her of him so much. Using some of the funds, Pohe rented her own little place in the basement of an old auto shop, where she began to research and study more on engineering. She became fascinated with the idea that magic was not universal when she discovered a much shunned research paper on stars – and that Arcstar was unusual in its properties compared to properties of others, and it appeared that those stars did not possess magical properties. The researcher of the article had been deemed crazy, and almost heretical, but they had remained firm in their findings and had a small collection of supporters.
Because Pohe was rather poor at using magic herself, she couldn’t rely on it, and the fact that there appeared to be stars – and likely worlds – that did not possess it at all fascinated her. She desired to know why and how things would be different without it, and because she was so fascinated with robotics as well, decided to try and incorporate it into that. During that time, the shop above was renovated into a general parts shop, and was bought out by a Mechari by the name of Karl Beem. He thought her ideas were crazy at first, but a friendship was formed – he expanded his shop to include repairs, which she performed, and in return she had a stable job as well as parts to create her machines.
Over time she was able to get into a network of parts, many being on the black market, from all places. She became well known by her codename, “Outcast”, and often does repairs for more questionable types. In return for hefty payments, she can get difficult, prototype, or outright illegal equipment, such as a device that creates small portals – not big enough for her to travel through, but big enough for her to send and receive [most] parts to clients. She feels she’s gotten close to unraveling electricity from magic, and just in time for all hell to break loose.
Hearing about the Night of Bloodfall, she didn’t have much of an opinion on politics in general. What interested her was hearing the Repressors had the ability to strip someone of their magic – it sounded similar to her own research, although designed for war. Admittedly, she’d like to meet one and discover the secret, as it would theoretically jump her own research ahead by leaps and bounds. Due to her connections on the black market, she has a feeling it’s only a matter of time before she’s contacted, so for now she has to worry about Karl and the shop being attacked because of him being a Mechari. At the very least his well known skills and reliability has helped lessen the impact on him, but his car has already been vandalized twice within a week. Still, better than him being dead or the shop burning down…
Pokémon:
Leorina (Pyroar, Female)
Leonidas (Pyroar, Male)
Ferrum (Durant, Male)
Java (Porygon2, N/A but generally referred to as male)
Faraday (Magnezone, N/A but generally referred to as male)
Other:
She’s carrying a hammer… I guess that counts as a weapon? She doesn’t have any vehicles.
Obvious companions would be Karl Beem, although he stays at his shop. Some of her contacts on the black market include a Chua in Lavaridge (Hoenn) that helps supply more metal and ores (he goes by the name of “Chihuahua”), a Neko located in Saffron (Kanto) that leaks her Silph Co. technology (her name is “Sneasel”), and a Merman in Goldenrod (Johto) that keeps an eye on global police investigations into said black market (he goes by the name of “Interceptor”). There are more contacts, but these are the main ones.
As for Aviersion Syndrome, I figured it’d be all right. Deformities happen in animals (and thus humans) all the time, and I tend to imagine that Angels evolved from proto-humans that first developed winged arms… then a mutation, in this case causing the wings to migrate to the back, happened and they got their arms, and from that advantage they evolved into modern day Angels. So in a way, Aviersion Syndrome is a step back in evolution :P Granted, this is just my take on it… It’s a pretty rare disorder, in any case, and it puts Pohe at a disadvantage anyway XD Figured I’d expand a bit on possible disabilities and disorders!
The portal device she has is incredibly small, and is sufficient only to send and receive packages that are no bigger than a foot in length, and about four-five inches in width and about three inches in height. In other words, smaller parts – nothing like an engine! It can’t be modified without the use of magic to do anything bigger, and since she’s terrible with it, it likely won’t get expanded – plus the smaller it is, the less chances of getting in trouble for it.
Pohe is very close to her older brother (he’s ~34), but distant with her older sister (~30) whom is still using drugs. She barely has any contact with her mother, as relations are strained.

Haven't had computer access lately. Posting from my phone. EDIT: Nevermind!
Pohe Vahoc [Phoenix Battalion] @Grassy_Aggron
Grassy while I see no glaring problems with you character, I first have to ask you really not expand the small portal device. It plays into the character and makes sense for her, but having it become full size would quickly get it discovered (A portal needs to be in the network to operate at all). I'd like it to stay the same size please. The wing deformity is cool. I was originally going to say no to keep rust unique since he asked nicely ahead of time, but it does make sense as a backward mutation and is a handicap so go ahead with it. I also like that she's interested in making electricity magically, and research into other stars. Very creative. Doing mentions on a phone is bothersome, so you're good to go and I'll edit you just to the post properly later. I just don't want you to miss out on points.
Speaking of which, posts made at 12:01am EST or later will be subject to judging, so good luck everyone! Remember to have fun!

@bronislav84
Thanks! Although I'd like to clear up two misconceptions. Pohe has no intention of making the device bigger, as it suits her needs as it is and likely would require a more complicated portal spell - which she does not have, and even if she did, she is very poor with magic. If she ever did expand it, it'd be for plot purposes - AKA a "I need to get the frick out of here" situation and likely one time use. Buuuuut knowing her, she wouldn't give up anything without a fight anyway so...
The other misconception is a pretty big one. She is not making electricity magically - she is trying to create electricity without magic (AKA, science!). I imagine that everything in the world when it comes to the basic forces are polluted by the magical radiation from Arcstar, so trying to create it without that pollution is her goal. In other words, she wants to make electricity that we have in every day real life. The research into stars was not her - it was another scientist, and gave her the idea. The idea that many other stars don't appear to have magic is based on the idea that the Xeth intervened here to protect the young world, but they likely didn't interfere with even a tiny fraction of stars in the galaxy, let alone the universe, so those stars would be normal.
One could view what she is doing as being the equivalent of alchemy in real life, except unlike alchemy, there is actual real merit to what she is doing :P Hope this helped!
P.S. Also, I haven't read anyone else's sign up, so any similarities to, in this case, Rust's is purely coincidence and merely evidence that great [evil] minds think alike.
