Pokemon Games! Announced in Latest Nintendo Direct!

A Nintendo Direct was held earlier today which had plenty of Pokemon related announcements. These announcements ranged from new games to known games and even old games!
Pokemon was even kind enough to send a press release with video for each Pokemon announcement made during the latest Nintendo Direct.

Pokémon Red Version, Pokémon Blue Version, and Pokémon Yellow Version: On February 27, 2016, Pokémon Red Version, Pokémon Blue Version, and Pokémon Yellow Version will be relaunched on the Virtual Console for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family. The games remain true to the originals—complete with monochromatic pixel art and 4-bit background music. This time there is no need for a Game Boy link cable as fans can battle and trade just like they did in 1998, but now via wireless communication on Nintendo 3DS.
The news about Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow version was welcoming news for both younger and older Pokemon fans. The can now get the chance to travel to the Kanto region as it was from the very beginning. Fans will be able to enjoy the original graphics and Pokemon designs that the first batch of Pokemon fans saw when the played Pokemon for the first time. Pokemon Yellow will also be released on the Virtual Console which included color and brand new designs for the first original 151 Pokemon in Red, Green and Blue.
Pokemon players in Japan will get the chance to purchase a bundle which includes Pokemon Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. This bundle will also include a download code, magnets of the original cartridges, manual and a map of the Kanto region. There is no word if US players will receive any kind of special bundle.
Pokemon fans will be able to trade using the wireless communication on the 3DS to emulate the experience of Game Link Cables which were originally used to trade and battle between players on the GameBoy. Currently there has been no word if these this release of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow will be able to connect to Pokemon Bank.
The announcement of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow release on the eShop comes just in time for Pokemon’s 20th anniversary. The games and the franchise were release in Japan on February 27th, 1996.

Pokémon Picross: The popular Picross series meets the world of Pokémon when Pokémon Picross launches in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS in early December. Pokémon Picross will be downloadable at no charge and will have over 300 stages plus an advanced mode. After solving number puzzles to complete pictures of Pokémon, fans will be able to add them to their collection in the game.
Pokemon Picross was announced as a new game that will be released on the eShop as a Free-to-Play game. Pokemon players will solve puzzles to complete puzzles of several different Pokemon.
It is interesting to note that a game called “Pokemon Picross” was originally announced back in 1999 though several Japanese magazines. The game was never release but a Picross game on the SNES was later released with 12 Pokemon stages. It looks like now this game will finally be coming to Pokemon players in December after a 16 year wait.
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon: The latest installment of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series that has sold more than 13 million units worldwide is launching for Nintendo 3DS on November 20 at a suggested retail price of $39.99. In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, fans will experience an amazing world where they become Pokémon, go on incredible adventures, and battle countless Pokémon.
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon was also mention during the latest Nintendo Direct. Pokemon fans in the US will be able to play this game on November 20th. That is one week from now so make sure to get this game! All of the current Pokemon will be in this game for players to go on adventures with and explore countless dungeons!

Pokkén Tournament: Developed in collaboration with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc., producers of TEKKEN®, one of the most successful fighting-game franchises in history, Pokkén Tournament brings Pokémon to life in a way never seen before. Tight gameplay is combined with intuitive controls to create a fighting game that can be enjoyed by both novice and expert players. Fans who purchase a first-run copy of the game will receive a limited-edition Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card that immediately unlocks the character in the game after tapping it to the GamePad. Pokkén Tournament launches exclusively for Wii U Spring 2016 at a suggested retail price of $59.99.
More information about Pokken Tournament was released during today’s Nintendo Direct. The first big thing that was shown was a trailer featuring Shadow Mewtwo and a mysterious woman who may have a connection to this Mewtwo. Could she be Shadow’s Mewtwo’s trainer?
Players who purchase the game first will be able to receive a Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card which will allow them to unlock Shadow Mewtwo right away as a playble character for the game. The game will be release on the Wii U in Spring 2016.
Pokemon’s 20th anniversary is coming soon and it looks as if The Pokemon Company is revving things up nicely. Who knows what else is going to happen as we get into the 20th year of Pokemon as we still have Pokemon Go on the horizon along with who knows what Pokemon has to offer.

I'm really looking forward to Yellow too! I loved getting all the starters! :D

I hope they make a special way to get Mew!

I feel like this means we aren't getting a 20th anniversary Kanto remake though :(

I really hope they stll intend to give us a Kanto remake. I know we already have FRLG, but RS got remakes despite Emerald, sooooo... Finger crossed for Kanto remake announcement on 2/27/16? That would be the best birthday present ever, Gamefreak. I mean, rereleases are nice, but I would definitely prefer updated graphics and the like myself.

3D Kanto would be wonderful! It is technically the next due for a remake and the only region stuck in the GBA era/not even playable on 3DS/New 3DS! But I guess since we have gotten a remake before, they may not want to make remakes of remakes. A remake with a new expanded story would be cool though.

Technically Kanto made it onto DS with SS, but yeah... I would love a legitimate update, as someone whose first Pokemon games was FR. There is lots of room for expansion at this point.

Every time I see someone's responded to this thread I keep thinking it's for the next installment(s). /sob, I can't wait

I wouldn't count out making remakes of remakes, especially in regards to transforming them into 3D. It makes them money, so why not? Still, I do hope they remake DPPt before even considering remaking RGB.

I'd rather see a remake of a remake happen. Remaking FR/LG, which was a remake already. I'd love to see that happen just so I can see the Sevii Islands again. Also, that's not true about the not being able to not play on the 3DS... you can play Kanto in HG/SS... @Pokemon Trainer Sarah

The only reason I want see a remake of a remake is so I can say "well, that happened." But, honestly, rather than remaking RBY again, why not just... use Kanto and turn it 3D and change the entire story? Something that has nothing to do with RBY? That'd be fun? Maybe a Kanto in the mega evolution timeline. Since the whole Zinnia thing leaves me curious as to how RBY fits into her timeline of events.
