Genesect, Giratina, and Darkrai…oh my!
October is right around the corner…you know what that means. Spooky season is upon us and Ghost-Type Pokémon will be haunting the streets near you. Dust the cobwebs off your old Halloween costume, grab your trick-or-treat bag and let’s go discover what October has in store for you and Pokémon GO.
Raids
Five-Star
- Genesect, the massively popular Mythical Pokémon from the Unova Region, is back. This time it is loaded with a Douse Drive. This is the first time DD-Genesect is available in Pokémon GO. You can find it in Five-Star Raids from Friday Oct. 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m to Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Genesect will not be shiny at this time.
- Altered Forme Giratina will be in Five-Star Raids from Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Shiny Giratina will be available, so get hunting trainers.
- Darkrai will be appearing in Five-Star Raids knowing the move Sludge Bomb. This is a new move for this Pokémon so be sure to get one before it disappears. Darkrai will be around from Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
Mega Raids
- Mega Gengar will be appearing in Mega Raids from Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
- Mega Absol will be appearing in Mega Raids from Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
Raid Hour
Happening every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, Raid Eggs will be hatching at most Gyms.
- Oct. 6: Genesect holding a Douse Drive
- Oct. 13 & 20: Altered Forme Giratina
- Oct. 27: Darkrai that knows the attack Sludge Bomb
Community Day
Duskull will be featured in this month’s Community Day which takes place on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. 3x Catch Stardust is the bonus and if you evolve your Duskclops into Dusknoir before 7 p.m. that day, it will learn the Charge Attack Shadow Ball.
Spotlight Hour
Every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, look forward to this Pokémon, proven to add extra spook, to your October.
- Oct. 5: Drifloon; you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon
- Oct. 12: Gastly; you’ll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Oct. 19: Gothita; you’ll earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon
- Oct. 26: Murkrow; you’ll earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon
