Things are getting spooky in your neighborhood in Pokemon GO
The Halloween Event in Pokemon GO is coming! And this year it is bigger then ever! The Halloween Event will start on Thursday, October 17th and ending on Friday, November 1st. You can expect plenty of things to do from catching special Pokemon to new Rocket battles to even a spooky encounters in raids!
New Features from Halloween Event
- Rescue more Shadow Pokémon from Team GO Rocket — Be ready to rescue the following Pokémon from Team GO Rocket Grunts at PokéStops near you: Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Electabuzz, Magmar, Lapras, Mareep, Seedot, Nuzleaf, Sableye, Trapinch, Cacnea, Shuppet, and Duskull.
- Thrilling threads in the Style Shop — Play dreadful dress-up with new avatar items, including a Zubat Bag, a Pikachu Onesie, a Cubone Cap, a Litwick Cap, and a Mimikyu Bag!
- A Spooky Shiny Pokémon makes its debut — If you’re lucky, you might encounter Shiny Yamask.
If you love battling Team GO Rocket then you will have plenty of new Pokemon to rescue. Some of the biggest new additions come from Generation 3 with the likes of Trapinch, Sableye and Duskull.
Those who want to dress up their character for Halloween are also in luck! Plenty of spooky new additions are coming to your wardrobe such as a Mimikyu bag and Pikachu Onesie.
Last of the features include new Shiny Pokemon and the introduction of Yamask!
Halloween Event Features
- Don’t be scared! More Ghost- and Dark-type Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, in Eggs, and in raids — Gastly, Murkrow, and more will be appearing. Making its Halloween debut is Yamask, the Spirit Pokémon!
- Pokémon wearing creepy-cute Halloween costumes arrive in raids and in the wild! — Some Pokémon have donned costumes to celebrate Halloween this year! Look forward to Bulbasaur wearing Shedinja costumes, Charmander wearing Cubone costumes, and Squirtle wearing Yamask costumes in raids. In the wild, be on the lookout for Pikachu wearing Mimikyu costumes! If you’re lucky, you might even encounter these alarmingly adorable Pokémon as Shiny Pokémon!
- The Pitch-Black Pokémon makes its ominous debut in Pokémon GO! Darkrai will be appearing in five-star raids!
- Frightful and fun Field Research tasks will be available for a limited time during this event.
- You’ve received a spooky message. Check out your Special Research when the Halloween event begins, Trainer, and you might face a Forbidden Pokémon…
The first of the features for the Halloween Event includes new Ghost and Dark type Pokemon being found in Eggs and the wild. Old Halloween favorites such as Gastly and Murkrow could be found in the wild. Meanwhile, new Ghost type Pokemon could be found such as Yamask.
Some Pokemon are also hoping to join the costume fun! These Pokemon include, Pikachu wearing a Mimikyu costume, Bulbasaur wearing Shedinja costumes, Charmander wearing Cubone costumes, and Squirtle wearing Yamask. These Pokemon can be found in raids and in the wild.
The biggest feature that will make people excited is Darkrai’s introduction to Pokemon GO. This powerful Dark type Pokemon will surely bring you nightmares with powerful attacks. We will most likely see Darkrai featured in future Raid Hours for October.
Lastly, it is hinted that we will see the return of Spiritomb Special Research for Halloween.
