Tomorrow is the day!
Our adventure into the Paldea adventure is only a day away! In less then twenty-four hours, trainers from around the world are going to head into the Paldea region. Plenty of new adventures and friends await us!
And we want to make sure you remember these last minute details and events before you go out to Paldea. There is plenty to do and plenty of time. Though, we know everybody will be rushing to have some fun.
Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles
During your adventures in the Paldea region, you may find Black Crystals that look different from the other Tera Raid Battle. Though, watch out! The Pokemon you will face at these Black Tera Raid Crystals will be much stronger then normal Tera Raid Battles. And only found for a limited time!
Though, if you manage to defeat one of these Pokemon then expect to see rewards that are more exciting then usual!
Below are the details for the first Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles.
- Charizard with the Mightiest Mark will be appearing in black crystal Tera Raid Battles!
This Charizard will be appearing during two time periods: first December 1–4, 2022; then again December 15–18, 2022. Charizard cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, and the Charizard appearing during this event has Dragon as its Tera Type.
- Players will be able to take on Tera Raid Battles at black crystals after completing certain postgame events. However, players who haven’t completed the event may still participate in these Tera Raid Battles by joining other Trainers in multiplayer by using a Link Code.
Special Tera Raid Battle Events
There will be Special Tera Raid Battle Events in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. During these Special Tera Raid Battle Events, you may have the chance to encounter certain Pokemon or Tera Types.
The Tera Raid Crystals related to these events may look normal at first. Though, they will be shrouded in a mysterious aura. If you do spot one then we suggest you jump at the opportunity to get your hands on these special Pokemon or Tera types!
The first of thees Special Tera Raid Battle Events will be for Eevee. This special Eevee Spotlight will be head from November 24th to 27th. During this event, Eevee with various Tera Types will appear more often in Tera Raid Battles.
The Scarlet Book and the Violet Book
Expect to see The Scarlet Book in Pokemon Scarlet and the Violet Book in Pokemon Violet. These books are expedition records from long ago. This expedition took part in an uncharted area of the Paldea region. Though it is unsure if what they hold is true.
These books are filled with photographs and sketches of unidentified creatures. In recent years, similar creatures have been spotted. Will you be able to find one of these creatures?
Below are the known details regarding the Scarlet Book and Violet Book.
- The Monster Known as Great Tusk
The Scarlet Book describes how this savage monster attacked the expedition team with its large body and tusks, mortally wounding one of the explorers. - The Monster Known as Iron Treads
It is said in the Violet Book that when this monster curls its body and rolls to attack, it leaves a trail gouged into the ground, as if it had scorched the earth.

Updates and Online Play
Below is a notice regarding updates and online play for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
Updates are planned for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet after release. The first of these updates is version 1.0.1, which will become available the day of release. Downloading the version 1.0.1 update will allow players to enjoy online play, so it’s recommended that players download the update before they begin playing.
