Spotlight Hour: Bulbasaur

bulbasaur spotlight hour
Pokémon GO goes back to it’s roots…

On July 6th the Spotlight will shine on, Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon. To fully prepare you for this hour long weekly event, let’s go on a journey to discover everything we can about this Grass/Poison Type Pokémon.

About Bulbasuar

Bulbasuar is 2’04” and weighs 15.2 lbs. Bulbasaur’s design was derived from working backwards from Venusaur. Meaning that Venusaur was created first and it’s pre-evolutions were created after, using features from Venusaur.

It’s name is derived from bulb(an underground storage organ found in some plants) and saur (Ancient Greek for lizard.)

In Pokémon GO

Bulbasaur, in its base stage, has it’s strongest moveset in Vine Whip & Power Whip and it has a Max CP of 1,115. It’s final evolution, Venusaur, has it’s strongest moveset in Vine Whip & Frenzy Plant and it has a Max CP of 2,720.

The Shiny form of Bulbasuar was released for the third Community Day on March 25th, 2018
