This weekend will mark the start of Spring Regionals. Players from all over the United States and Canada will be hitting these tournaments for a chance to win Championship Points and qualify for Worlds in San Fransisco. Each Regional will host a TCG and Video Game competition except for Canada where they will only host a TCG tournament.
The TCG competition will be in the Expanded format. This means that decks can be constructed with cards from Black & White base set to BREAKpoint. Fates Collide was recently released and won’t be legal to play until May 23rd. This will be just in time for the last weekend of Spring Regionals.
The VGC competition will be using the 2015-2016 VGC rules. That means players can use two Legendary Pokemon on their team. Please click here for more details.
Please remember that all competitors are required to pay to compete in a Regional. The entry fee will be determine by the tournament organizer for the Regional.

It was recently reported on PokeBeach that players over eighteen can opt to “cash out” any of their scholarship rewards. If players do this then they will have to pay taxes based on their winnings. This should give more incentives for players who are not in college or have graduated.
Good luck to players taking part in Spring Regionals!
