Trying to earn an invite for Worlds by playing the TCG?
Then it has gotten much easier! That is because the point qualification has now been lower for TCG players around the world.
Below are the new and updated point requirements for those wishing to earn an invite for the Pokemon World Championships in Yokohama.
| Rating Zone | Junior | Senior | Masters |
| US and Canada | 200 | 250 | 350 |
| Europe | 200 | 200 | 250 |
| Latin America | 200 | 200 | 200 |
| Oceania | 200 | 200 | 200 |
| Middle East & South Africa | 130 | 130 | 200 |
What Changed?
Point requirements across the board has changed for all divisions and around the world. Originally, a Master player from US and Canada needed 500 Championship Points to earn an invite. Now they only need 350 Championship Points.
No real reason was given for this change. It is speculated that this change was done due to the lack of local Championship Point earning events. Currently, the only way to earn Championship Points was from Regional and International events.
With that said, best of luck to those on the Victory Road to Yokohama!
