Basically, I have two assignments due for uni, an exegetical essay and a tutorial paper, as well as a crap tonne of reading to catch up on. Essay is due April 26th (four days) and tutorial paper is due next Wednesday (nine days). I am fine with that. However the tutor for the unit with the tutorial paper is getting on my nerves a bit. I had a bad feeling about her first week, as she was explaining deeply her dislike of laptops in the classroom, and making it clear she didn't want us having them (there is no university policy banning them, and I do all my notetaking on google drive), and now she is doing something unusual. Essays are usually due at the end of semester. In this unit, it is due June 14. Plenty of time. Except she has said she wants a one page plan/outline of the essay emailed to her by April 26th. Whilst I can understand why she wants this, I have beef.
The way I see it, we are all adults at university. If we wanna leave something to the last minute we will. Fact is I have two other assessments due, as well as heaps of commitments outside of university, and now have to add this to the list, when it doesn't even get graded. That's right. It will make no difference if I submit it to her or not, except the fact she will pester me about it. Honestly, all she needs to do is deliver the lecture, answer any questions students may have during the tutorial, and grade papers. She doesn't need to be babysitting us and making sure we are starting this well in advance. I have gotten plenty of high marks on essays, all of which were started with less than two weeks to the due date, some less than one. I don't have time for this rubbish...
