    Pokemon: Hidden Intentions [SU/ DS]

Hello all. About three years ago, I tried to start a RP at PE2K, and it was fairly successful...until we basically hit a stop in the posting process.

I decided I'll try to "remake" the RP, so to speak, and start anew...and maybe it will even be better then the first go-around...and maybe people will actually join in this remake so to speak...

    Story:

It has been 12 years since the events of Gold and Silver. (We are going by the merit that Ho-oh and Lugia were optional like in the original, i.e. they're still wild pokemon in this.)

Just now, a new pokemon terrorist group has immersed. They work in the shadows, and not alot of people know alot about them, not even the police. The only thing for certain that's known about this group, is that they referred to their organization as Team Ultima, and the higher ups in the organization use very rare and powerful pokemon. Also unlike other terrorist groups before it, they have no problem using their pokemon to attack not only their foe's pokemon, but the trainer themselves as well. In fact, some of the higher-ups in the team prefer to aim for the trainer from the start.

About 2 years after Team Ultima appeared, a new corporation emerged in Saffron City, known as Starr Corporation. It was founded by a man known as Victor Starr. Soon after it's establishment, Starr Corporation grew like wildfire, making advances in pokemon items, pokemon research, and pokeball technology much faster then their competition, Sliph Co. Just last year, Starr Corporation managed to drive Sliph Co. into extinction. Starr Corporation only used it's money to help sponsor things such as the Goldenrod City Expansion Project, joint-ownership of the Goldenrod Global Trainer Station, and even the Kanto-Jotho Pokemon League itself. Lately however, there has been claims that some pokemon placed up for trading in the Goldenrod Global Trainer Station have gone missing, but all the police investigations on the matter failed to turn up anything, either due to lack of permission to investigate further into the Station due to Starr Corporation's influence, or because the police themselves mysteriously vanished while looking into the case, or were paid off by Starr Corporation to cease the investigation.

All while it seems Starr Corporation is slowly trying to get all of the major industries on it's side, Team Ultima is still very active and strong in the shadows...it seems like it's just waiting to make it's move, but what is it's purpose? Some rumors going around claim the team is trying to capture the legendary birds in order to weaponize them to make a unbeatable army, some claim that the team is trying to cause a war between Johto and Kanto in order to try and rise up amidst the chaos, and others claim that it's actually a secret pokemon cartel that first sells off shines and other rare pokemon to sponsor their activities and to slowly make their way into the governments of the world, controlling it from the inside out. Will the true intentions of both imposing forces be revealed in time?

That was the opening plot for this RP, the first act will take place in Goldenrod City. Don't worry, we will be hitting other cities and areas as the RP continues.

    Rules:

    - Standard rules, no godmodding and the like
    - You can be either good or bad if you'd like, or even one of the higher-ups of Team Ultima (Like have a Commander class or something), but all of the Admins will be played by me.
    - You can also be something other then a Trainer, like a Pokemon Ranger or the like. If you have another idea for what your character will be, run it by me via PM, and most likely I'll accept it.
    - Try and keep OOC and stuff in this thread, which I will make along with the main RP thread after at least 5 people sign up for this.
    - If you do join, TRY TO BE ACTIVE SO THAT THE REST OF US DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOU. If you are inactive for a long time, we will continue onwards in the RP without you.
    - One user can have more then one character to use in the RP, but the maximum number of characters per user is 6...but I'm allowed to go over for story reasons. =P

Instead of just blindly going off into the world at the age of 10, he attended Goldenrod University, where he did a 6-year education to earn his bachelor's degree AND to learn about how the world works. He started his pokemon journey at the age of 16, 4 years before the appearance of Team Ultima. However, he got his starter pokemon before then. It was when he was taking stroll through Route 35 during his final year in university when he found a near death Shiny Charmander. He nursed it back to health and got close to it. So it was that Charmander became his starter. He then traveled Johto to become a trainer and to assemble his team. He is currently living in Goldenrod, a bit uneasy about the Starr Corporation influence that's heavy over Goldenrod, and fearing for his Charizard's (his Charmander became a Charizard through experience during the travels through Johto) safety, seeing as it's a shiny one, and how it seems rare pokemon like that are being stolen nowaday. Name: Jack Drake
    Age: 22
    Gender: Male
    Good/Bad/Neutral: Bad
    Rank: Admin of Team Ultima

Appearance: Jack is a tall white man at 6 feet, he has bright blonde hair with green eyes. Personality: At first he's very nice and ongoing to everyone he meets, but when he's all business for the Team, his nice and kind facade changes into a very dark and menacing persona that's not afraid to get himself dirty with the really dirty jobs or to do what it takes to advance the goals of Team Ultima. Due to this, it's unknown which side is the true Jack..the Kind Trainer, or the Menacing Monster...

History: Not much is known about Jack, but he started his pokemon journey in Hoenn. He was always in love with Mawile, seeing as it perfectly matched his personality. He spent days upon days in Victory Road, trying to catch a shiny Mawile. He never gave up, and even unleashed his menacing persona, violently beating down all the pokemon he encountered in Victory Road with no problem while searching for the shiny Mawile. After a month in Victory Road, he found the Shiny Mawile. Maybe by fate, the Mawile was also bullying the other pokemon in Victory Road, somewhat calling out to Jack. Once he cleared the Hoenn Pokemon League, he came over to Johto where his tenancy and personality did not go unnoticed by Leader Nova. Nova itself came before Jack in a Team Ultima Cloak and offered Jack the position of Commander to start out. Jack accepted and quickly rose to one of the 4 Admins due to his outstanding work. After a year of being one of the Admins, Jack is now heading toward Goldenrod City, where Team Ultima already bought him a house down there, to try and expand operations in Goldenrod so that that area of Johto would also have Ultima agents planted among other things planned for the area...

Personalilty: Commander Johnson is a very cold person, but he does have a sort of 'playful' attitude when messing around with his foes...and he always seems to act like he knows the big picture of the events taking place....but once he sets his sights to a goal, he'll go to hell and back to accomplish it...
Bio: Not much is known about Johnson's past, but it is rumored he used to be a Pokemon Ranger in the region of Hoenn. Even though there is little known abot his past, alot is known about his work for Team Ultima. He's known as "The Ultima Napper" and is the go-to guy for kidnapping, both of trainers and of pokemon. He is also the expert when it comes to reconnaissance. He is also rumored to be the Commander with the best shot of getting the much coveted promotion to Admin, and also stresses reform, hating how the governments of the world and the law enforcement are running things...he joined Team Ultima to further a certain goal of his...

Quick question about the acts you mentioned.
So as you being a GM, are characters going to be set within a certain location for each act and you will let us know when we move onto the next one? Is that how that works?

    Name: Shay Miru
    Age: 19
    Gender: Female
Appearance: Shay stands at 5’8, weights around 120 pounds. A young female athletic body is hidden under a slate grey hoodie that seems just too big for her, and black slacks with a single white line down the sides of the leg. Even wearing a hood, she wears a faded teal Gatsby hat with a blue tie around it on her head. Her skin is slightly tan, despite the heavy clothing, and is quite the looker in past male views. Her face is calm and flawless, greyish blue eyes seem to glow under her shaded face, giving her that enigmatic ambiance. Should she not be wearing her sweater, underneath is a carmine, form fitting tank top with rune-like markings all over it in a dull red that is just a few shades from the carmine it’s printed on. The popular choices of black fingerless gloves and wrist bands to match are also part of her swag.

Accessory wise, Shay only has three things: a back pack, and a necklace with the rare faded lens sunglasses that she only wears in public. The backpack is a medium sized, worn out school bag that has seen better days. Despite its rugged look, it’s lasted over the years. What was a bright blue is not a faded and washed out cerulean hue, trimmed in grey, having used to have been white. There is frayed fabric in the corner most of the backpack, and few zippers that have stood the test of time hide various carry-on items in their pockets. The necklace is a simple silver chain and a trinket as its main center piece. A pewter S in the shape of a Giratina in origin forme, coiling around itself that Shay received after completing the Dragon’s Den test. Her rarely worn sunglasses are a faded lens in a plum colour, with a darker colouration on top and a much more faded variant towards the bottom of the glass.

Personality: Shay has grown away from people and always around Pokemon, and therefore isn’t much of a people person, that is anyone else that isn’t her family. She acts seemingly cold and arrogant at a first impression, sometimes even ignorant to the person as well; however she isn’t truly like that at heart. Inside is a caring person, though seems to care more for Pokémon than human beings, and won’t hesitate to help someone in need. This impulsiveness however is often followed with her commenting something along the lines of incompetence towards the person she just helped. Her lack of socializing with other people has worn away at her ability to properly talk to a person in most cases, sometimes leaving her to outburst angrily at someone when they poke at something personal either about her or her past. This may also grow to violent tendencies where Shay is not afraid to pin someone up against a wall to get someone off of her back about something, or even someone elses if they dare go that far. Even with that Shay tries to remain as cool and collected as possible at all times, even giving the false hint that she doesn’t care about what others may think. She rarely gets into the business of other people, or society, however when her intuition feels off about something, she investigates. Her intuition is very strong with the natural world and with Pokémon, to a point where she has her own form of communicating with them through understanding of how Pokémon speak.

Underneath the hardened exterior is a very loving person who is incredibly loyal and selfless and would give up her life for a dear friend, though those kinds of friends she does not have many of. Shay isn’t one to talk about herself, and it is incredibly hard to get her to do so. She often feels awkward talking about herself if put in the situation, as it makes her feel self centered and attention hungry. She often distances herself from other people to prevent this sort of interaction and won’t hesitate to do some odd or crazy things to maintain this distance. This applies to her fantastic battling skill, applying and any every possible option to come out victorious or to make an escape. Her daring nature comes in handy with such escapes, willing to dive on her own for a few hundred feet from a certain altitude to lose pursuers and meet up with one of her flying Pokémon once again at a lower altitude. Though she thinks of any and every option to gain a victory in battle, she will not use dishonorable tactics, or fight dirty. However, if it’s her fighting another person, it’s a slightly different story. She is a survivalist, where people may call her a stuck up and well educated country girl, or a ‘hick’. This is not the case, as she prefers nature over civilization, and is self-sufficient thanks to the skills she learned while living in Blackthorn.

Overall Shay is a person that is hard to gain the trust of, but when you do, she makes a wonderful ally. If you don’t though, she makes an incredibly worse enemy.

History: Shay could be described as the trainer her started her journey at the youngest age. This is because she was raised on her parent's Pokemon ranch outside of Blackthorn City. There were always Pokemon all around the massive plot of land and she always got along with them, understood them and interacted with them. Being home schooled all she did was Pokemon activities, trumping any other Pokemon school anyone could think of putting her into. She was always a daring child and it persisted until she was legally allowed to go on a journey by herself. Years before that she traveled around with her father to many of her relative's homes all over the world. On one of these travels she found an abandoned Charmander egg nestled in the rocks of a nearby stream, while hiking with her father's Torterra. She took the egg home and took care of it herself, adamant it was going to hatch and after some months, it hatched into a small, shiny Charmander. Thus her beginnings as one of the most tactful battlers began. Just before she went on her global travels, she took the Dragon's Den test and passed it with good remarks from the elders, and was awarded one of the clan's special Dratini.

For the past nine years she has been traveling the globe, training many Pokemon from each corner of the region, you'd be amazed anyone had that much patience for training. Oddly enough as the years went on, and her team developed, she challenged gyms from all over the world, but never took on the league challenges. No one is sure why she didn't enter for the league, but she has all of her badges to show for her prowess. This has earned her a rumor reputation around the Pokemon world, one of which isn't brought up very often but when it is, she tries to avoid it like the plague. One of these travels involved going to Sinnoh, and its vast mythology enlightened her of Giratina. She understood why that dragon was granted to her on her necklace, as it was one that could change the very shape of the land. It was a misunderstood potential, and she felt it fit her very well. As she traveled around, rumors of the Starr Corporation began to greet her with suspicion. She was glad that they had no foot hold on nature, or out in her home of Blackthorn, but couldn't help but feel something was wrong. Speaking it over with her other immediate family, -that being her Pokemon team- they all agreed investigation was the best possible route.

    Name: Attica Lyre
    Age: 17
    Gender: Female
    Good/Bad/Neutral: Good
Appearance: Attica is a shorter female with long chocolate coloured hair and natural blonde highlights. The length doesn't go past her neck around her face, and the only length of hair she has is often held back in a ponytail. Her eyes are a strong, greenish blue colour. She's only 5'6 and is a medium build that is thin, but to the trained eye, well toned. She wears a dark slate vest over pale green shirts, one a darker evergreen tee over a paler hazelish shirt. She wears bistre coloured pants with one side pocket on either leg, aside from the two hip pockets. She has a messenger bag in cream draped over her left side. Her look is simplistic, as she wears no jewelery aside from a silver bracelet with various Pokemon charms hanging from it. Inside her bag are various tools, such as her books, a harmonica and sparring gloves. She wears thick padded fingerless gloves in a coffee hue on both of her hands.

Personality: Attica is one of the most expressive people you'll ever meet in your life. The way she speaks is very lively and she has a lot of self confidence, but never going so far as to have an ego. She often acts modest whenever credit is due and always is pleasant to those she meets, if they give her a good impression before the first impression. Always civil unless it isn't needed, Attica is fair and gentle in most of the things she does. It's only ever rarely that she gets aggressive, and that is when the time calls for it. As an effective warrior in martial arts, Attica is not afraid to put you flat on your back if you cause her to come to that kind of conclusion. Put under pressure, she thinks quickly and acts fluidly, however her ability to recover from unexpected surprises is not one of her strong points. Stealth also isn't an issue for her as she is naturally silent, even when she isn't trying to be. She is knowledgeable in therapeutic practices such as music and aromatherapy. Attica loves music and knows how to play a few instruments herself, adding to her expressive ways. She often speaks with her hands when she talks [even when not using Sign Language], and uses body language and facial expressions to amplify her words and expressions. You can almost always tell what she's saying to you with the body language alone. This would help because Attica has never spoken a word in her life. She is mute.

History: Attica has been mute since birth, and has never once used any assistance aide to speak. She feels she doesn't need it and instead, learned how to talk through face, hands and even music to communicate with other people. When she was younger, she was bullied and treated as if she were a disabled individual who was incapable o doing a lot for herself, and for awhile, she believed it. Her parents decided to put her into Pokemon therapy, but refused the first choice of Pokemon for her therapy -a Chatot- due to her parents believing that their daughter would think it was an assistant for helping her learn how to speak, or a substitute voice for her. Instead the doctors replaced the bird with a Riolu, who turned out to be a much better choice for Attica. Over the years, Attica went to school with the Riolu, and learned body language and physical expression, growing more and more confident with her abilities as an individual in elementary school. Jealousy of the Riolu provoked more pestering by students, however the Riolu was quick to defend his patient with a quick use of his lithe fighting abilities.

Thus perked Attica's interest in martial arts. She practiced not only with her Riolu friend, but at dojo's her parents allowed her to go to while under therapy. She was under this therapy from age seven until thirteen where her self confidence grew tremendously, as well as her ability to flip people over two feet taller than her. Such a boost in self confidence spurred her to go on a Pokemon journey, albeit a bit later than most children. To her luck, the doctor allowed the Riolu a release of employment and to stay with Attica. Overjoyed the pair of them went on into exploring the world, being casual yet energetic Trainers and the on and off coordinator. After four more years of traveling with her Pokemon, the sprout of Starr Cooperation and the theft of GTS Pokemon, Attica traveled around to try and give sympathy to the families and trainers that had lost loved ones. All the while her Riolu not Lucario, sensed something was amiss, but couldn't determine what it was. Their next destination was Goldenrod, where they met a trainer named Shay who also seemed to be looking into the same thing.

    Name: Lazlo Donovan
    Age: 13
    Gender: Male
Good/Bad/Neutral: Good, but kind of a schmuck.
    Rank: N/A
    Appearance:
Tall and lanky for his age at only a quarter of an inch beneath six feet, Lazlo looks like a scarecrow, and one a little less Batman villain and a little more Wizard of Oz sidekick. With a frame that is at risk with every gust of wind, Lazlo makes his way through life clumsily, but optimistically. Despite supposedly being his size, the teenage trainer's clothes hang off of him, whether it be his brown down vest zipped up over a green tee-shirt or his faded blue jeans held up by a tightly cinched belt. Not assisting with other's assumptions that Lazlo is sick is his pallid complexion. Still, there is an excited glitter in the hazel eyes that lurk beneath his shaggy and messy brown hair and a smile that appear whenever the subject turns to Pokemon that ward off any presumptions of impending death.

    Personality:
Lazlo is not the best trainer, by far. But he is very earnest, so hopefully that counts for something. The boy is just not the sharpest tool in the shed, but while he may not be smart enough to do everything, but he's dumb enough to try anything. Honestly, most of Lazlo's victories came from a combination of innovative strategies and a refusal to give up bordering on alarming. This is the same drive that he approaches in his life's ambition, to be the greatest Grass-type Pokemon trainer in the world. He stumbles often on the way, but with faith in his Pokemon and himself, Lazlo is convinced he can do it.

When it comes to interacting with other people, Lazlo can come off as an idiot. That's not being cruel, that's being completely fair, because his clumsiness and undiluted optimism are generally things that are to be avoided at all costs. The trainer also has a habit of challenging others to battles right off the bat because he can tell a lot about a person from how they use their Pokemon, or at least he thinks he can. Lazlo is a happy, energetic soul who's always ready to help, though he might need some more complicated concepts explained to him.

    History:
With only the family Bellsprout at his side, Lazlo began his Pokemon journey in the Sinnoh Region two years late on account of his flunking the application for a license twice. But after much cramming, he qualified and began to travel the region, beginning in his hometown of Solaceon Town. After the very well-trained Hero defeated Maylene and Crasher Wake single-handedly, Lazlo began to expand his team including a Turtwig he received when visiting Professor Rowan in Hearthom City, an Eevee rescued in Route 210, and a Tangrowth encountered in the peaks of Mount Coronet. Lazlo won a few more badges from Volkner and his idol Gardenia, but the victories allowed him to grow confident and comfortable.

Headed for the Oreburgh Gym with a newly evolved Leafeon, Lazlo was sure that he could triumph over the Rock-type Pokemon of Roark, but to his horror, he found himself completely outclassed by the strategies the leader had formulated to beat Grass-types. One by one, the young trainer's Pokemon fell, even his mighty Tangrowth was laid low by Roark's mighty Rampardos. It was a watershed moment in Lazlo's life and he decided to stop trying to compete in the Sinnoh Pokemon League in order to train his Pokemon and become stronger himself. After the season ended, he decided to head off for a fresh start in the Johto region.

Despite only looking for more Grass Pokemon, Lazlo managed to run into foot soldiers of Team Ultima during his travels through the Ilex Forest and escaped only because Hulk made a new exit out of the dense woods. Now catching his breath in the Goldenrod Pokemon Center, Lazlo is hearing about the chaos Johto and Kanto are falling into and wondering if maybe Unova would have been nicer this time of year.

Hero is a male Bellsprout with the ability Chlorophyl and a movepool consisting of Vine Whip, Reflect, Sleep Powder, and Slam. He was Lazlo's first Pokemon and is his most trusted partner. Despite its fragile appearance, Hero is well-versed in martial arts, particularly Aikido and Sumo styles and has truly earned its place as Lazlo's primary battling Pokemon. Definitely far more courageous and dedicated than his trainer, this Bellsprout is the paragon of its species, second to none.

Davey is a male Turtwig with the ability Overgrow and a movepool consisting of Withdraw, Bullet Seed, Bite, and Leaf Storm. Lazlo received him from Professor Rowan during his journey through Sinnoh. Wide-eyed and innocent, this Turtwig enjoys battling, but can often get distracted and is prone to wandering off after butterflies. Despite being the second Pokemon to join the team, Davey is still very much the baby of the group and is doted upon especially by Bella Reve.

Hulk is a male Tangrowth with the ability Regenerator and a movepool consisting of Protect, Power Whip, Double-Edge, and Earthquake. Joining Lazlo already fully-evolved, Hulk has made a huge impression on the team, despite being its most recent addition. Like his namesake, this Tangrowth is not very easy to control and can often lose himself in his mindless rage, caring little for who or what he destroys on his rampages. Still, Hulk's power has gotten Lazlo out of many tough situations, so he'll keep on working to handle the awesome power of this not-so-jolly green giant.

Bella Reve is a female Leafeon with the ability Leaf Guard and a movepool consisting of Leaf Blade, Attract, Heal Bell, and Dig. Elegant, refined, and charming, Bella Reve is another of Lazlo's prized Grass-type Pokemon and the one who detests combat the most. Caught as an Eevee partway through his journey, Bella didn't evolve until Lazlo was heading through the Eterna Forest in order to challenge the Oreburgh Gym. Now, she sees herself as the peacemaker of the group and is adept at not only keeping Davey entertained, but also calming Hulk down when he loses his temper.

    Name: James Patrick Sullivan

    Age: 23

    Gender: Male

Good/Bad/Neutral: He's /something/. He hasn't said what. But he doesn't say much in general, so.

Appearance: James Patrick Sullivan is enormous, topping 7 feet tall and 300 pounds (none excess). He's built like a semi, and he looks like the kind of person who can punch through a door and still knock out the person on the other side with the same hit (fitting, considering that he actually has). He rarely speaks, and the few terse words that do make it through his laconism come out in a basso growl. His face is usually set in a neutral expression, but his size makes it seem like he's unfriendly regardless. His sky blue eyes are set against a light olive complexion, and his black hair and beard are cropped very close to the skin. He usually wears jeans and a white T-shirt, with a digital watch on his left arm. On top, he puts on a blue jacket, with pockets for all sorts of goodies.

Personality: Introverted. James is very introverted. He doesn't say much, doesn't go out often, and manages to be overlooked despite being way bigger than most everyone around him. When he is noticed, people generally go out of their way to avoid him, thinking him to be some sort of thug (a view not helped by his laconism).

Dr. James Sullivan is, in reality, terrifyingly sharp. The number of things that escape him total a whole zero, and he's especially perceptive in social interactions, to the point where his PhD is actually in psychology. His introversion has also served him well in conjunction with his perceptiveness: he's actually figured out how to understand Pokemon speech, like learning a human language. His education has also made him quite competent at manipulation, and he's capable of planning for the long haul. He exploits his apparent thuggishness ruthlessly, and his brilliant mind has made him into a more than competent trainer and battler. His body makes him immediately dangerous, but his mind has made him a long range player.

Not that anyone knows what the frack he’s playing in the long range. He apparently has some kind of working relationship with the Starr Corporation (despite the fact that all of his Pokeballs are the old Sliph Co. models), but he keeps quiet about it. His Pokemon are rarely in their balls anyway: he keeps them “around” when asked, generally in strategic positions to gather him information. He’s talented in knowing things he definitely shouldn’t because of this.

History: We don’t know. He’s kept it entirely too quiet. The only thing known is his name, which most who have investigated believe is assumed, and a number of documents, which most who have investigated believe are forged (his Pokemon make people believe that he may have originally hailed from Unova). He emerged at the age of 17, quietly blurring through his undergraduate degree and then his Ph.D. Anyone who challenged him to a battle had a habit of getting quite thoroughly trounced, sometimes viciously, leading to speculation that wherever he used to hail from, it wasn’t pleasant. This is further supported by the fact that he holds himself in a way that suggests he’s personally capable of violence, as well.

After his sudden appearance, he apparently took steps to ensure both he and his Pokemon were in top form. People could see him working out, or taking his Pokemon to gyms to keep them in top form. He’s also in contact with a fair number of employees of the Starr Corporation, and apparently has done some sort of business with them. The Corporation is amiable towards him, but they definitely have an eye or seventeen on him.

    Pokemon:

    [Ziz] Volcarona (F)
    -Bug Buzz
    -Fiery Dance
    -Hurricane
    -Quiver Dance
    Spoiler:

Ziz exists to be cautious. She's no coward, but she believes that risks should not be taken unless they're an absolute necessity. Therefore, she prefers to avoid fights and conflict, as they have unpredictability built into them automatically. Of course, this means if she does fight, she'll do it as brutally and as quickly as possible, to get it over with.

    [Michael] Ferrothorn (M)
    -Spikes
    -Leech Seed
    -Power Whip
    -Gyro Ball
    Spoiler:

Michael is really mellow and laid back. He has a perfectly serviceable sense of intuition and foresight; it's just that he doesn't particularly care to us them. It's rare that he actually outright reacts, but when he does, it's with efficiency and grace.

    [Leviathan] Jellicent (M)
    -Surf
    -Will O' Wisp
    -Recover
    -Taunt
    Spoiler:

Leviathan is the kind of Pokemon who thinks up crazy plans that still work anyway. He'll come up with stratagems no one expects, and therefore no one will counter. He then sees them through with a ridiculous amount of guts.

    [Behemoth] Garchomp (M)
    -Outrage
    -Earthquake
    -Aqua Tail
    -Dual Chop
    Spoiler:

Behemoth is generally cheerful, energetic, and possessed of a good sense of humor. He's also Dr. Sullivan's most dangerous Pokemon. The sheer damage Behemoth can output combined with James's very thorough training of him makes the Garchomp an absolute horror to face in combat.

    [Thessaly] Gothitelle F
    -Psyshock
    -Thunderbolt
    -Signal Beam
    -Calm Mind
    Spoiler:

Thessaly is an anomaly in James's team. While she will listen to him if he gives an instruction, she is motivated almost entirely by self interest. She has some emotion for James–probably more than she'd care to admit–but she sticks around primarily because he's smart enough to be the most practical option to her. She also appears to be a denizen of dreams, originally: people don't escape her unless she wants them too.

    [Aurora] Weavile (F)
    -Swords Dance
    -Ice Punch
    -Night Slash
    -Brick Break
    Spoiler:

Sarcasm. Sarcasmsarcasmsarcasm. Sarcasm. Did I mention sarcasm yet? Aurora is the quintessential snarker, reveling in cheerfully pointing out everyone else's idiocy. She snidely refers to everyone as 'darling', and generally takes great fun from messing with people's brains. Of course, when business calls, Aurora is as deadly as any of James's Pokemon in combat, and extremely, maybe even fanatically, loyal to him. She considers it her job to keep Thessaly in line.

Other: Anyone who knows where James'a name comes from, to the point where they can ID his nickname, gets a full Internet cookie jar. Sabi, the name you recognize is a coincidence to an extent, but I did derive a very little bit from the person you know it from. The name that only one other person (won't say who) recognizes right off the bat, on the other hand, is exactly the character they know, albeit in a different context.
