[WAR Season II RP] Arcane Pokéworld [SU/DT]

    ARCANE POKÉWORLD STORY

It all started 80 million years ago, far beyond recorded time and even before prehistoric Pokémon like Aerodactyl, Kabutops, and many of their kind roamed the world. The world was inhabited by dinosaurs and animals that could have evolved into the Pokémon of the modern era. The only traces of humanity that existed in these long, almost forgotten days were protohumans.

The Sun this world depended on, Arcstar, suddenly changed it's cycle and was on the critical brink of becoming a supernova. If left to run it's destructive course, it would have decimated the entire solar system and would have nothing but burnt shadows in it's wake. The cataclysmic signs were detected by the Xeth, a highly advanced race of aliens that had the power and the means to manipulate the laws of physics, logic itself, and even dictate the course of existence. The Xeth, while not truly gods, had the power and techniques that could be considered godlike. Upon examining the unstable and potentially devastating course the Arcstar was heading toward, they used their powers and techniques to stabilize it and in turn, prevented what could have been a tragic disaster if left unchecked. As a result of their benevolent efforts, fate ran a different course and the Arcstar was forever changed, now illuminating the world with a bright white and lightly violet-colored illumination.

This is where the story begins. This is what is known as The Dawn of the Arcane Sun.

As a result of the Xeth's efforts, the Arcstar was able to continue it's cycle without risk of apocalyptic devastation. Life and prosperity continued for 15 million more years and in time, new evolution had set it's course, eventually becoming the Pokémon we recognize of the modern era. These creatures known as Pokémon, armed with the power, skills, and techniques to harness the elements and supernatural forces thanks to the Arcane Arcstar, were able to claim dominance, resulting in the end of the dinosaurs that could not command the same forces they could. These Pokémon were the first practitioners of what would eventually be called Magic.

Following in the footsteps of their flourishing Pokémon brethren and companions, the early protohumans were the next to evolve, learning how to harness magical forces and energies from the Arcstar be means of concentration and willpower. Soon, like Pokémon, they began to inherit the basic and fundamental skills of the Xeth thanks to the transformed Arcstar.

But what was supposed to become human never came to pass. Instead, the early protohumans were evolved by the Arcane Sun as well, becoming distinct races but all being collectively called humans due to having the same ancient ancestor. In time, as the ages and eras marched on, humans learned Magic from their Pokémon companions as well as through their own dedicated research into harnessing the power and energies of the Arcstar in new and creative ways.

This is the story of how Magic had risen through the Arcstar and soon enough, became the central influence on civilization, culture, norms, research, and technological development. The creation of tools, weapons, and structures had undergone a completely different breed of industrial revolution, relying on the fundamentals of supernatural magic as opposed to the utilization of scientific principles despite how these same principles like gravity, conductivity, and the like are still present. As the ages of civilization marched on, technology was built around the magic these humans knew best, and magical technology, called Magitek for short, resulted in the creation of enchanted mechanical tools, equipment, and devices that perform the same functions of technology today, but are powered by the forces of magic as opposed to using the principles of science.

NIGHT OF BLOODFALL AND THE NEW TEAM TRAINER CONTINGENCY

The High Magi Council. The Celestial Circle. And the Order of the Crimson Flame.

All 62 world leader members assigned to keep the peace were assassinated in a single night along with their assigned chain in command. It escalated into a vicious and heartless attack that would be forever scarred into the history books as the Night of Bloodfall. It was unknown who launched and coordinated the attack, but the investigation concluded all leader members were violently stripped of their magical abilities before they were executed. None of the assassins were caught or identified, but the limited witness testimony and evidence concluded it had been a band of Mechari assailants responsible for the assault. The attackers were labeled as the "Repressors" for their strange ability to strip magic out of their targets.

When the news of the Repressor attack hit the media through the Maginet and the Mirror broadcasts, immediately the hysteria resulted in Mechari being branded as traitors, flawed devices, and "rebellious machines without souls." Citizens began to question the meaning of their existence, while others attempted to defend the machine race by arguing not every Mechari was a Repressor out for anarchy nor did they support the Night of Bloodfall, although there were plenty of sympathizers for the Repressors and felt it was a "much-needed cleansing long overdue." However, the shaken and unstable political theater were only making the situation critical and law enforcement that much more difficult. With rioting and looting on the rise because of these events, what was once a perfect world paradise was rapidly collapsing.

The only lead in terms of determining who should be established as the new order was found in the Celestial Circle's Decree documents, establishing that if the Circle should fall, the faction known as Team Trainer would be the next in line to assimilate authority. Meanwhile, the High Magi Council and the Order of the Crimson Flame had nothing left after their assigned chains of commands had all been eliminated in the Bloodfall assault.

With no other official documents and successors to go by, Team Trainer was established as the new emergency world order. However, despite Team Trainer's righteous and good intentions, not everyone saw the mission from their point of view. Many felt their individual identity and culture were threatened, and not everyone recognized the authenticity of the Celestial Circle Decree. Even in the mist of the already costly Bloodfall riots, others were far too skeptical and portrayed the Decree as a conspiracy theory forgery that hit the airways and tabloids hard. Meanwhile, others believed Trainer was not capable of stopping the "Repressors" from striking again, wherever and whoever they are...

The world has become a darker place. The question of who should lead the world of magic is in shambles, and the hunt for the Repressors is a trail rapidly going cold. The Mechari are fighting bigotry and racism from all directions, while rebellion factions rise up against the authority of the questionably established Team Trainer order.

It is unknown whether the world can return to the state of peace and paradise it had once enjoyed. What is known is that the flames of war have been lit, and many will be taken in its demand for sacrifice...

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE ARCANE WORLD AND THE STANDARD ONE

Flight Spells - Individuals have access to flying spells, which was an early discovery. As such, buildings and structures have access balconies that grant access at any level. Devices like parachutes and hang-gliders were obsolete before they even existed. Work, life, and even sports have been changed due to this ability to fly freely.
Flying Cars and Vehicles - Used for faster travel, as well to assist with the shipping of heavy goods and as mass transit.
Pokémon Carrying Crystals (PPCs) - Instead of Pokéballs, these crystals are used instead, offering a stronger, more comfortable, and more rejuvenating container for companion Pokémon.
Healing Spells - Used in place of healing medicines.
Travel - As a means of getting from one place to another, a portal network exists, replacing train lines and metro stations with a portal network. Walking into a portal of one town in another region will allow you to emerge to a town in another region in no time at all. There is still travel time, as the passenger will be in a stasis while in the Travelscape. They will be allowed to think, see, and hear, but not physically move. The only allowed use of portals is strictly limited to these "Portal Metros." Any other unauthorized use of portal spells or teaching of portal spells is regarded as highly illegal due to the ability to use them for trespassing.
Pokémarts - These retail outlets have been changed to sell Pokémon healing spells, as well as the Pokémon Carrying Crystals needed to contain them. A spell only needs to be brought once, much like a book that only needs to be brought once but can be read multiple times. Most Pokémarts make the majority of their revenue from PCCs, although the spells are always available for new rookie trainers that are only just starting their journey.
Magic Shops - Magic that isn't Pokémon-related is sold here. Magic has been around since ancient times, so new research and development into new spells is rare (but still possible). These vendors will sell mainly the books and resources needed for practical spells, as well as self-defense, trades, crafts, and many other purposes that are needed in everyday life.

    Science Gadgets we Expect:

The Maginet - The magical rendition of the Internet. No need for wi-fi hotspots or worrying about data plans with this. You can access it anywhere and everywhere.
Smartphones - Have been implemented as Mirrors, also connected to the Maginet. These perform the same functions we are familiar with it terms of phones, and they're significantly cheaper to mass produce. Everyone has one, unless they lost it the way one does with car keys or their wallet.
Televisions - Televisions are a derivative of Mirrors and can be altered in size to suit the owner's preference and accommodate the room. In that same light, Mirrors also take on the form of video players and gaming consoles for entertainment, given they have they have been enchanted with the desired game or movie spell.

    RACES

All races are considered humans as a collective whole, but these are the sub-categories (think in terms of Hispanics, Caucasians, Asians, and so on). The magic they specialize in is similar to those of Pokémon attacks and moves, although each race can still cast spells in all other fields.

Mechari - Mechari are sentient Megitek machine humanoids, and were originally created by the other races as servants many years ago and continue to be created today. In addition, new Mechari are created by a partial magical donation of the personality and appearance to the one they wish to create. Being enchanted machines themselves, Mechari understand Enchanting magic the best out of all the other races, and make outstanding craftsmen. Mechari can take on a male or female appearance, but do not reproduce sexually. Mechari specialize in magic related to Steel, Normal, and Ghost type sources.

Granok - The Granok are sentient, golem-like people formed out of living rock. Strong, sturdy, and adamant, Granok can take excessive physical punishment in combat, and are exceptional at utilizing spells focused on earthen manipulation and plant manipulation. As a result, the Granok are the best at Grass, Rock, and Bug spells.

Neko - Neko are feline humanoids that are fast, nimble, acrobatic, and agile. They have prehensile tails and are typically considered attractive by most other races. Most Neko work in the entertainment industry, but there are still plenty of exceptions. Female Neko are typically taller and have upper body strength while males are shorter and have better lower body strength. Neko are basically humans with ears on their heads instead and tails. They have extendable 3 inch claws on their hands and feet similar to cats. Some but not all (At about half the population) have a Were form activated at high levels of stress or adrenaline. A thin fur coat covers their body. Neko specialize in Fighting, Dark, and Psychic magic.

Chua - The Chua are the shortest of the races, taking on the form of rodent humanoids based on such creatures similar to rats, rabbits, mice, and guinea pigs. Often eccentric and unpredictable, the Chua are skilled with Ice, Ground, and Fire magic. Because of this, they have natural resistance to heat and fire, and can handle working in stifling conditions far better than the other races. Moreover, they are the least affected by extreme weather, able to transverse scorching deserts and frozen tundra areas more comfortably than anyone else. Chua have a transformation similar to Neko, with the same activation conditions.

Angel - Angels are the most recognizable as the humans from the normal Pokémon world, taking on an appearance that looks exactly like humans except for a pair of feather wings they have on their backs. Angels are the only race that can fly without use of a flying spell, and have strong proficiencies in Electric, Flying, and Dragon magic.

Merfolk - Mermaids and mermen, collectively called Merfolk, appear as half-human, half-fish humanoids while submerged in water and have incredible swimming ability. Meanwhile, they have perfected most of their tools, technology, and equipment to work perfectly underwater. If need be, they can emerge from the water and after arriving on the surface, their fish tails will become human legs for a temporary amount of time. They can stay like this and walk on the ground for about three days before they start to become dehydrated and dizzy and need to return to the water. While on land they're identified by the gills on their necks if one were to look closely. Merfolk specialize in Water, Fairy, and Poison magic.

    COMBAT

    • Unlike Harry Potter, wands aren't present. Fighting with magic can be done in the form of enchanted melee strikes (like a fire or thunder punch) or as projectiles like a fireball or ice beam. Fighting without magic, such as using a melee weapon like a pipe or a sword, is possible, but will be seen as quite primitive (on the level of bringing a knife to a gun fight).
    • If you cannot speak, you cannot cast (hence, taking a hostage by duct-taping their mouths is an effective way to suppress their magic, much like blindfolding a sharpshooter temporarily nullifies most of their skills). Spells that cause the opposing caster to be muted are possible, but only last for a temporary amount of time and have very high rates of failure when attempted to be used in rapid succession.
    • Though your character can have a library of spells to work with, the general idea is they can only use one spell for every post. Spells are limited by two things: fair play and imagination. The second one means as long as it's not god-modding, it can be used. As before, everything has strengths and weaknesses that can be exploited. Bigger is not necessarily better, as we all know.
    • Spells take on many different forms, such as elemental bullets being fired from the fingers in a gun-like fashion, actually conjuring a gun-like device and shooting elemental bullets from it, and healing spells that are typically the material of fantasy RPGs. Also, the typical performance enhancer spells (buffs) are possible also.
    • Just about every Pokémon attack is a spell. Some are exclusive to Pokémon however, and have no use to humans.
    • Conjuring large spells or effects is possible, but takes time. Summoning creatures, devices, and the like are also possible, but have a limited duration of existence and must return back to where they were summoned from eventually.

    RULES

    • Please follow the Pokémon Crossroads Community Rules and the Pokémon Crossroads Role Playing Rules. Following these rules would include:
      • No godmoding.
      • No bunnying other characters.
      • No instant teleportation. Travel across great distances requires at least one post of travel.
    • When the GM feels the rules have been broken, he will immediately invalidate the post in question and ask the poster to change it.
    • If, following prior warning, or if done flagrantly, rule-breaking will be punished with a strike. Three strikes equals an immediate ban from the Role Play.
    • If the incident is particularly heinous, we reserve the right to ban you from the RP without prior warning or strikes.
    • There is a 48 hour cooldown on posts, meaning you can only post once every two days. Please keep track of your own timer. This is to ensure most people can keep up with the RP and don't get left behind.
    • Please start each of your posts off with the following header for everyone's convenience:
      Character Name
      Team
      City, Region
      Affected RPers:

    THE 1.5 ATTACK RULE

This rule was created to make attacking and defending actions more fair and more realistic, meaning your character can only do so much in a single post to address defending themselves against attacks and making reprisal attacks of their own.

These actions do not have to be done in this order.

    ACTION 1: A CHANCE TO DEFEND/TAKE DAMAGE

When your character is being attacked, you get the chance to do one of the following:

    • Take damage/allow your character to be hit
    • Dodge the attack (use this sparingly and don't dodge everything)
    • Parry, deflect, block, and so on and so forth (again, sparingly)

Again, your character should take damage every now and then, especially after repeated attack attempts. This does not necessarily mean they have to die, but they should take a few burns, bruises, and wounds keep it more realistic.

Also, you get this action each time your character is attacked. So if three people are attacking your character at once, you get the chance to respond to each of them, but bear in mind, if your character is being attacked that many times, at least one of them should do some kind of damage. Dodging/blocking all three without a scratch is unlikely. The more your character is ganged up on, the more they should be taking damage.

    ACTION 2: A CHANCE TO ATTACK/RESPOND

You can attack another character or named NPC however you'd like (unnamed NPCs don't count toward these allowances, albeit you shouldn't wipe out excessive amounts of these kinds of NPCs in a single post). Once you've decided on your target and how you want to attack them, that's your attack.

Do not say your attack hits or declare it to be successful if the target is in the hands of another RPer who never authorized you to land a successful attack on them. That's still for them to decide. Otherwise, it's bunnying and nobody likes that.

Your response could also be in the form of running away from the battle or taking defensive cover without returning fire. Someone who attempts to run away without attacking in response would be more successful and clear more distance than someone who tries to both run away and return fire at the same time.

ACTION 3. ONE MINOR OFFENSIVE/MINOR ACTION

Besides your attack, you can do some other combat/support action that does not attempt to directly damage a living target, such as healing your character, prepare a weapon, use a device/equipment, and so on, provided it can be done relatively quickly.

If you choose, you could sacrifice your entire attack action to perform several support actions by breaking away from the fight and using that post to use or set up weapons/equipment, heal, and other non-combat actions in a single post.

    OR

You can perform a minor combat action, such as a fast and weak attack against another target, which would be along the lines of throwing/shooting a weapon that would realistically take less than three seconds, or use a quick melee attack against a target that's very close to you. In order to do this, your character should not be traveling to have to perform it, and should not be able to travel anywhere after said attack is made. In other words, you can't make your quick attack and then run away. Not to mention this attack is quick and you don't have time to take careful aim.
    ---------------------

So with all these in mind, you could do the following for example:

    • Dodge an incoming fireball - Your DEFEND action
    • Throw a boulder at a target - Your ATTACK action
    • Throw a quick explosive charge on a building to collapse it - Your MINOR SUPPORT action (detonating it would have to wait until next turn).

    Another example:

    • Getting struck by an incoming electric attack - Your DEFEND action
    • Throwing a suppressing net on an enemy - Your MINOR SUPPORT action
    • Attacking the same netted enemy with a thrown explosive - Your ATTACK action

    Another:

    • Blocking a grenade by taking cover - Your DEFEND action
    • Attacking Target A with a rocket launcher - Your ATTACK action
    • Attacking Target B's rifle in an attempt to disable the weapon - Your MINOR SUPPORT action

    And finally:

    • Dissipate a fireball attack by using a wind attack on it - Your DEFEND action
    • Summoning creatures as support allies - Your MINOR SUPPORT action (this does not include ordering them to attack, which would count as an attack action. Here they would only be on standby to be used next post)
    • Hot-wiring a nearby vehicle - Another SUPPORT action taking the place of the ATTACK action

    Name: Karai "Kar" Horoshi
    Gender: Female
    Species: Neko
    Age: 22
    Team: Phoenix Battalion
Description: The following is the form she's often seen in.

She's 5'6". She has brown eyes, black hair, and her thin fur is golden colored.

She has a small nose and high cheekbones. Her black hair is long down to her hips, a little spiky due to hairstyle, and has wispy bangs that hang low enough to barely cover her eyebrows. The bangs and hair wave when she walks. She also has a tattoo which looks like a necklace and is visible through her fur. See reference picture.

From the shoulders to her fingers, you can see scars that healed and there's no fur growing there.

Like her face, Karai's body is pleasant to the eye. Her figure is slender but very curvy. She has the same tattoos as Hikage, but hers are on the right instead of the left. She exercises as often as possible so she has a thin waist and wide hips. She has the average amount of muscle on her arms and legs.

Now the clothes. All are form fitting.

She wears a low cut and showy crop top which is ripped in some places. It has a snake pattern in black and white.

She has gloved bracers reinforced with enchanted metal, from the middle of her arms down to her hands. They are used to block melee attacks. She wears her Mega Bracelet on her right arm.

For pants she wears jeans with a snake pattern, which are ripped in some places. From the knee down, a grid of leather straps reinforced with enchanted metal protects her legs and acts like leg bracers for blocking attacks similar to her arm bracers. The jeans cover what needs to be covered.

She doesn't wear shoes, finding her own feet good enough for walking, and this way it's easier to extend her claws. If the landscape is particularly dangerous, she enchants the soles of her feet with defensive magic to protect them.

The colors change from day to day, but the outfit really doesn't.

Personality: Karai pretends to have emotions, but doesn't really have any anymore. Her personality boils down to "I don't care" unless money is involved. She pretends to be nice to others if that's part of the job she's on, but really she doesn't care for anything or anybody. In reality she only cares about what it would do for her bottom line. If you want her to feel for you, show her money. Otherwise the REAL Karai is unemotional and uncaring. If she goes on an infiltration mission or just needs to break in and charm people, she can act like a normal person and play a role. She's an extremely talented actor, and those who know her only think they know her for as long as she needs to act that way to do what she needs to do. She can pretend to have any personality or pretend to feel any emotion she needs to in order to complete her mission. Those who really know her know that she uses her acting talent all the time to fit in and not creep people out, and that many things she says to others are lies. She can fabricate intricate back stories as alibis on the drop of a pin. Of course people who know this are either no longer alive, are former/current employers, or are Hanzo graduates.

When around team members she usually isn't acting, lying, or pretending, and depending on if they were creeped out by her lack of emotions and feeling might be acting normal for them to not be creeped out. It's still just an act though.

Under her facade of not caring about anything is a very damaged person who was taught to be an unfeeling machine since the early teens. She would like nothing else than to learn to feel something again and care about people, but knows it would compromise her job integrity. For now, she doesn't attach to anybody except fellow Hanzo graduates. Everybody else is probably just going to end up a corpse anyway, so why get attached to the walking dead? Maybe this will change when order is restored.

Background: Karai came from pretty humble and normal beginnings. She was born to pretty average parents from Ekruteak in Johto. She went to a regular school until grade 5 when she was 11 years old. No major events, just a happy childhood. Her life changed when she was to attend high school. Her parents revealed the family legacy: They were members of a secret line of shinobi and everybody in the family attended Hanzo Academy. She was enrolled for next year.

On the surface, Hanzo was a normal school. A combination of American style High School and College, students would have classes and learn like other schools. But the day was much longer and school didn't let out until 8pm. When she graduated the High School portion of the Academy, she went on to major in Experimental Engineering. She proved quite smart, capable of designing and understanding various Magitek.

Why did school end so late? After normal classes let out at 3pm, students were trained to be shinobi for hire. This part of the school wasn't open to the public, and the only ones who knew about it were the students and faculty. From 6th grade onward, Karai was conditioned to feel nothing for anybody. To complete the job no matter the odds, consequences, laws, or rules in place. A specialist doesn't care and doesn't get attached. Only the pay motivates them to complete their mission and keep trying.
    Spoiler:
At age 11 when she was in 5th grade her teenage development picked up extremely. Like many teenagers, she hated these almost continuous changes. Finally at age 14 in 8th grade she started feeling extreme back pain. To the point that pills didn't help kill the pain and her spine actually started to get damaged. Her doctor told her that either she would get surgery to fix it or she would soon not be able to use her legs because her spine would literally snap in two from the weight being put on it. By this time she had resolved to love her body and wouldn't change it. She needed alternatives, and Madame Hanzo was glad to oblige. The descendant of the founder and principal of the Academy had some very good connections. While Hanzo was legally funded by the Johto government, the after-hours programs needed outside funding because they weren't really all that legal. In return for their funding the partners received graduates to work for them, and it was a very good deal. Most of the funding partners were military, but a couple were less than legal. She contacted one of the big funding partners for the school named Mr. Silverfield and explained the problem: An extremely talented student needed to have her spine repaired. Silverfield agreed to fund the project in return for Karai and 4 others joining up with his organization upon graduation. Karai had no choice but to agree if she was to continue living the life she had gotten used to.
After several days in bed a package arrived at the school with a new form of metal. Well, sort of new. It was the rare metal Magitanium mixed with other chemicals and elements. It was grafted to her spine under the skin. The graft was enchanted to be non conducting and non magnetic. It was also made completely invisible to x-rays and would look like it's not there. Metal detectors didn't notice it either. But she had to take pain killers for life and while it was made to function with her spine and she could bend down it would take a couple of years for the bones to completely mix with the graft. Until then she had to be careful to not hurt herself and was carefully monitored. Working for Mr. Silverfield pay for her painkillers and expenses.

Over the years Karai was trained in the use of all forms of martial arts, various spells, agility, stealth, infiltration, melee weapons, and army weapons. This means she knows many ways to take down an opponent bigger than herself and doesn't need to expend energy fighting them. She can wield anything from a wooden stick to a Magitek missile launcher, assuming she could carry said weapon around. She was also trained to drive most enchanted vehicles. She was also taught telepathy to be able to speak to Pokémon directly, developing a strong connection to the team she trained while in school. She learned to give all her commands telepathically.

A mastery of shapeshifting, vocal manipulation, and alibi fabrication allowed her to be anyone in any location. Though not an expert at information gathering, she could easily research a target and ask people for information. She could be right next to her target but they wouldn't know it until their head was separated from their body or they were incinerated and it was way too late. The perfect multifaceted ninja assassin that doesn't ask questions. Or so she was taught. In private, Karai had been losing her sanity.

    Trigger Warning for Self-Inflicted Injuries
    Spoiler:
As her training was rigorous, she resorted to extreme methods to make sure she could still feel pain, including self harm. She needed to feel something, anything, to make sure she was still alive. The training taught her much, but it also came at a great cost. Did she lose her soul? Her humanity? Was she like the Magitek she designed in the college years? She had to do this to herself to make sure she was still alive and could feel things, even if it was just pain.
Eventually it was time for graduation and fulfilling her obligation to Silverfield. Soon after the Night of Bloodfall Hanzo Academy was annihilated in a staged arson on an off day and rebuilt in Castelia City in Unova, closer to Silverfield's location. No trace of the school was left in the original location and no leads were ever found in the investigation. All students and faculty were evacuated and are now Unova citizens, with the regular school part continuing the run off government funds as a legal school and the shinobi part being funded by funding partners. As before, the school hides in plain sight, looking like a completely normal school. Though Karai has had a couple of employers and gone on missions as training during school, Phoenix Battalion is her first longterm employment. She joined relatively recently, but got acquainted with the high profile members rather quickly.

    Pokémon: Blaziken (F), Raichu (M), Lapras (F), Hydreigon (M), Gardevoir (F), Venusaur (M)

Other: Travels with a squad of four other Hanzo graduates. Default weapons are her racial claws, elemental finger bullets, and a pair of katana that are actually Psychic constructs. She can materialize them from thin air and float them around in addition to holding them. She has her PCCs in her pockets or a backpack if she's already carrying too much. She and her squad each carry very well enchanted Mirrors that keeps them connected to the important things and entertained as needed.

Dan Zembrovski the Mechari is the tallest of the group, but thin as a branch. A regular brainiac in how Magitek works. The resident Magitek expert, he could reverse engineer anything given enough time.

Amanda Highborn the Chua Rabbit is a Magitek weapon expert. Her last name is ironic because she's actually pretty short. Nobody could shoot like her, and she often competes with Karai on who's better at range. Though she's better at long distance shots, Karai lets her win on everything else to make her feel better. She's often polishing her enchanted sniper rifle, which she calls Flashy.

The mysterious Granok man named Scar never really told anybody his real name. Even at the Academy, he said the only one who knew his real name was Madame Hanzo. If anybody else knew it, they weren't telling. Scar was the muscle and could bench about 500 pounds or carry it around. He gives some Fighting types a run for their money, and Karai as well. While not as tall as Dan, Scar's physically the strongest of the five. Whether he uses steroid chemicals or just works out when nobody is looking is unknown.

Anna Lang the Angel is the medic. A regular wiz at healing spells, chemicals, and how the body works, this medical ninja keeps the squad going when they would otherwise be taken out of the fight.

NOTE: Karai might be better against NPCs, and I have no idea how she would operate in a PVP scenario.

This is open, right? If so, totally reserving and updating this post.

Edit 1: Since I appear to be waiting on Sabi and LD for backstory stuff, I'll just post the other stuff as I think of it.

    Name: Lance Harper

    Gender: Male

    Species: Neko

    Age: 27

Team: Operation: Phoenix Awesome! Team Awesome!

Description: The basic attributes, He's a relatively tall fellow with a lean/muscular build. Olive skin, Black hair/fur, and the eyes of a clear blue sky. Lance usually wears an entirely black suit with ruby cufflinks and red tie. His casual attire usually sees a black sleeveless top and torn denim blue jeans. While wearing the suit, his tail remains wrapped around his torso. However, in his street clothes his tail runs free for the world to see.

Personality: As a business man, skills of communication with everyone he meets comes naturally. He's the sort who will sit and have a conversation with you just to make the time go by. Despite this, he never speaks over people, and isn't actually prone to talking needlessly. He is well mannered, polite, and peaceful. He bears developed skills in mixed martial arts, fencing, and archery provides a code of discipline to never start a fight, but always finish or die trying. Such to the point where he would sooner try to talk his way out of fighting, as opposed to actually fighting. His usual calm disposition stems from meditation, and extensive mental training to block out fear. Even in the face of death, he would remain anything but afraid or nervous. It is rare to anger Lance, however it is possible. I'll let you find out how that is, if it ever gets to that point. <3

Background: Despite being born into a wealthy family, Lance Harper was taught from the moment he could walk and talk how to respect people who weren't as well off as he was. To always see every man, woman, and child as equal to him in every aspect, even if they weren't. His parents enrolled him early in martial arts classes, though his heritage proved enough for his combative and defensive skills. They did so to teach him his disciplines early on, and constantly use them in his every day life. His parents wanted nothing but the best for him, and to see their son grow to become an honorable and respectable man.

His family ran the very well known organization of Harper Industries. A company based on the use of Magitek for the benefits of all races and Pokémon. They have served in a multitude of things that your everyday individual uses on a daily basis or some only when needed. Anyone who was anyone knew the Harper family, and genuinely liked them as people. Though some didn't take to their friendly demeanor, and "saw right through their ruse."

Life was good for Lance until early into his adult years, which saw the Night of Bloodfall. Lance's family stood against the hatred against the Mechari. Their belief was that the Mechari were free to do as they will, and the ones who assassinated the World's Order did so of their own free will. Many followed in this belief, and many perished in doing so. Among those that perished were Lance's parents.

After the rioting quelled slightly, and Team Trainer ascended to authority, Lance held a service for his parents, which saw a phenomenal attendance. His family were like celebrities. Loved by many, and hated by others. It was at this point that Lance decided to continue his family's work. The work that would most likely aid in whatever began this catastrophe, and possibly put an end to this conspiracy once and for all.

Pokémon: Scizor, Machamp, Crobat, Gardevoir, Houndoom, Ludicolo

Other: Lance carries a Bow which he enchants to cast various spells. He is also talented with Nunchaku, A Bo-Staff, and any blade handed to him. While skilled with these weapons, he only ever enchants the bow.

Still definitely working on this. xD

This is a huge WIP still for me. i have many things I'm still going to add besides the other section, but this should give a main jist of the character. If you have concerns with my character being too broken or something of the sort, feel free to message me Bron, and we can clear it up. I tried to be kind of creative when doing this, so I don't know how well it would apply to the situation of the world either. But anyways, here we go.

Name: Blake Donner (changed from Blake Jackson)
    Gender: Female
    Species: Neko
    Age: 29 years old
    Team: Team Awesome yoooooo

Description: http://cache.desktopnexus.com/thumbs...gthumbnail.jpg - Casual wear for Blake

Blake is at what you could call the peak of a physically fit and balanced body. Standing at (of what she would consider) an average height of 5'0", and weighing at only 127 lbs., her size may seem pretty small. But don't let that deceive you, as her small size is compensated by her massive strength.

Now, for features on Blake. Like most nekos, she has black cat ears and a small black tail (usually hidden by clothing). She has long black hair which is well done and only tied up when in a match. Blake has what is known as complete heterochromia iridum. Inherited from her parents, Blake's two pupils are separate colors; her right eye is yellow while her left is green. However, sometimes when she blinks, this can change, her right eye either becoming gray or hazel, and her green eye becoming blue or gray also. She also has fairly long nails that have black nailpolish on them.

For clothing, generally Blake can be seen in 4 sets of them when you do see her. The most common one is the one related to her profession, since she has been sponsored and many other things. It's fairly simple, consisting of a thick gray tanktop and long black shorts, and night blue boxing gloves specially made for her.

Other than that, she has two forms of casual wear. Both of these are taken from a culture that she studied on and had custom made by tailors for her. The first is based off a japanese school outfit, having a black jacket with blue highlights. She has a blue tie to match with it, and also has a white and black skirt to go with it. Under the jacket, she wears a black and white checkerboard shirt, and finishing off with long black socks and simple jet black sport shoes. Her other casual wear is a simple purple kimono with a black obi sash and normal black sandals. This is generally used for formal meetings and occasions, so it isn't seen a lot.

And finally, we move to her stealth attire. For this set of clothing, she wears what is considered as kunoichi clothing. She wears a black uwagi coupled with short cycling pants, a purple obi sash, and a small cape attached on the side for a hood. With this, she also wears black gloves that contains machines used for poison and knifes and tabi boots which each carry more poison when needed. She also wears black leg warmers which cover practically the rest of her body up.

Personality: (Your character’s mental state and emotional intelligence. This should also be at least a paragraph long.)

    Background:
Blake lived in what you could consider a troubled childhood. Born to a poor family of nekos in the practical boonies of the city for all races, while there may not have been crime, money was a problem for all, including obtaining food. Although her parents upheld their own moral codes, they suffered through a lack of pride, because neither of them had the strength to fight, being the only way to completely obtain money for food in their area. However, by the age of 8, Blake came to understanding of this and decided to end the suffering. She spent month upon month training herself and her body, and learned a fighting spell through her father, and strained herself with learning that too. After almost a whole year of pushing herself to the limit, she celebrated her 9th birthday with her first fight.

She ended up going against a simple Angel for her first fight, one who just seemed to want to brag their skills and take money from others. This match was a lot less one-sided than what he had realized though. Blake was able to take him out in two punches, one to bring him to his knees and one for the knockout. For the first day in years, her family managed to gain money to keep themselves more than alive, and Blake wanted to keep it this way. She was a continuous fighter at fight clubs all over the area and managed to make money almost every time, going undefeated in all of them. After two years, she managed to save up enough money to do what she wanted; go to school. With a steady fund secured for herself and her family, she was able to land in a school district not too far away.

Despite having minor bullying happen for a few years, Blake had no trouble in school, and was able to soar through her classes like nothing. Taking up studies in mainly psychic magic and some fighting magic, she was able to get out of practical high school at the age of 16, passing the final exams with almost perfect scores. However, thanks to her knowledge of manipulation, a government leader had her taken in to do work for all of them. More specifically, assassination work. Giving her all of the tools that she thought was needed, she took up this job mainly for the pay and the fact that her parents needed something to help them stay alive, which was promised.

With this job taken up, she ended going on plenty of missions that were filled out cleanly; she had made it a talent of hers to make any death look fairly natural, as to derive any suspicions. People never seem to keep promises however, as a year later, Blake went home one day to find out her parents had been killed themselves and all the money she left them with taken. She quit her job and vowed to get revenge on those who had killed what little family she had left.

Using all the money she had left, she ended up going to a highly regarded college for all kinds of studies, but she focused on getting into media attention, something that would help protect her and get enough money to help her. Studying with that in mind, she learned more fighting spells to help her throw harder punches after learning of boxing. Continuing with this in mind, she stayed in college for 8 years, earning a Master's Degree and joining the worldwide boxing association.
-past stuff and things (aka to be edited)-

    Pokémon:
Tyrone the Hitmonchan (known publicly, male)
Azuko the Volcarona (known publicly, male)
Flow the Dragonite (known for transport, female)
Ryu the Greninja (unknown publicly, male)
Silva the Banette (unknown publicly, female, can mega evolve)
Klink the Klefki (unknown publicly, female)

    Other:
-Blake is a professional boxer who's mastered a few styles of fighting. After years of going against who she called easy game, she went into a men's league and became the current champion. She stands as a huge symbol for sports entertainment.
-Literally filthy rich. Her career as a professional boxer has caught her a lot of money, so she's been able to make a hefty amount and save a hefty amount, although she has not used it for much of what people have seen.
-Due to what she's considered her limited potential, she's only bothered learning about two forms of magic: fighting and manipulation (related to Psychic). While her fighting is pretty standard from powering her punches, but her manipulation varies a bit. She's learned how to completely mute a whole small area for about a minute, slow down time for her (appears to move faster to others), and even change her appearance to match someone else she has previously seen before for a few minutes.
-Known to be close friends with another boxer in her league by the name of Micheal Klen (will probably type out for reference in a pastebin or s/t). May or may not come in to defend her from something IF that time were to come.
-Owns one of the fastest cars in that time, that one thing being what she spent the most on for anything. Used for multiple things by her, and comes with many settings under it. Black color with sleek design.
-Doesn't carry many weapons on her, but when she does, it consists of a pair of brass knuckles, poison, and a sharp dagger.

Name: The Healer (Birth name Gabriel Phloros)

    Gender: Male

    Species: Granok

    Age: 38

    Team: Phoenix Battalion

Appearance: Gabriel in almost any given situation towers over anyone else around him: standing at a full three and quarter meters high with an enormous build to match: usually, on size alone, he can make most people terrified. His stony skin is made of living rock analogous to mostly metamorphic ore; it's very tough, very difficult to dent or crack. His skin color is actually a conglomerate of several, with blacks and grays and dark blues peppering his surface at irregular intervals, giving him an overall dark look. The clothing he chooses is usually highly practical and very technologically advanced; his shirt (more of an armor top) has several contraptions (both augmented with magic and not), designed to make both everyday life and combat efficient for him. In addition, this shirt conveniently does not look like anything more than typical armor, and so he looks merely prepared instead of armed to the teeth. He usually wears a white coat over it, because he's a doctor and why not?

Personality: Gabriel is a man who consistently thinks faster and more effectively than others. He's utterly brilliant and knows his way around magic and machinery both to an extent that utterly boggles the mind: he made his first Mechari by the age of eight years old. His mind fires on entirely different metaphorical pistons than the minds of most people, and his thinking process usually involves quadruple leaps of the imagination leading to accurate and logical conclusions that were seemingly unrelated to his premises. He's applied all his genius and his knowledge into the study of life, creating it, protecting it, and healing it, and in those fields, he is quite possibly the best in the world.

That said, for all his intelligence, it seems to utterly and completely fail when it comes to dealing with people. The Healer is notoriously bad at interacting with other sentient beings, with a penchant for seeing just how far his foot can go into his mouth. He isn't deliberately mean so much as he's utterly clueless and insensitive, and it can sabotage opportunities that his genius would otherwise create. It certainly doesn't help that he thinks so much faster than most others, and can screw up the explanation of his logic unless he takes a substantial amount of time to think it.

That said, for all his cluelessness, Gabriel is a man defined by love. He loves his fellow beings, and loathes seeing them pain, dedicating his life to easing it. He loves the Mechari he creates, as friends and people of their own, and refuses to send them any place where they might get treated as anything less than equal. And most of all, he's come to love the child Michael whom he adopted. However, his love has a bit of a dark side: for all the love he can spread around, he can spread around an equal amount of horrifying extremes to protect the ones he loves. He's killed or had his pokemon kill on multiple occasions, and essentially all of them were to protect either his Mechari or his child. And with times growing darker, it's very likely that so will his actions...

Background: Even from a young age, Gabriel Phloros demonstrated that his mind was one to be reckoned with, frequently spending time other children would use to play and instead using it to tinker. He loved the use of magic and the study of science, and managed to integrate the disciplines in ways that few could ever dream of. The various things he'd invent did not look like technology supplemented by magic, or visa versa, but instead had seamless and elegant integration of the two. He quickly surpassed the abilities of some of the foremost inventors of his day, and by the age of eight, he exceeded all reasonable expectations.

    He created a Mechari.

His parents were shocked at the sentient being ("Galen! Her name is Galen!") that walked out of their basement (long since appropriated for Gabriel's tinkering) and sat at their dinner table the next night. However, they weren't too upset, especially given that their child's inventions had previously been shown to be useful and Galen was so mannerly, that she folded into the family in a week.

Time passed. Gabriel became very learned in a wide variety of sciences, and eventually became a medic so well known he was called "The Healer." He had a comfortable life, and between inventing and doctoring he was well off, financially. He wasn't particularly liked, thanks to his tendency to stick his foot in his mouth, but he was respected for his acumen and competence.

So of course, life threw him a curve ball.

The good healer was in his lab/house one evening when he heard a terribly loud profuse knocking at the door. When he opened it, a grievously injured female Neko shielding a child who looked almost exactly like her with her own body rushed in. In the next instant, Gabe reflexively summoned a defensive magic to absorb a powerful spell casted by a male Neko with soulless eyes. In the instant after that, Gabriel swarmed him. Literally. When The Healer casted his spell, a plague of locusts enveloped the hostile Neko, burrowing into his eyes and cramming their bodies into his throat. But though the attacker was slain, the damage was already done. Both Galen and Gabe attempted to heal the female Neko to no avail.

The child, Michael, stood trembling in terror, clinging to Gabriel like a lifeline as the young Neko cried. With no other option that didn't make Gabriel want to vomit, he adopted the child...

    Mozart the Hydreigon (M)

Other: (Any other details about your character, such as what weapons they may be carrying, what vehicles they may have in their possession, close NPC companions that may accompany them, and so on.)

    Name: Michael Phloros
    Gender: Male
    Species: Neko
    Age: 21
    Team: Phoenix Battalion
Appearance: Michael is a lithe frame of 1.7 meters, tall but thin. His sparse and wholly gray fur looks luxuriously soft, and his green eyes are the sorts of things fangirls swoon over. His body shape is gazelle-like, designed for running and looking pretty more than anything else. Translating for species, he looks like a stereotypical pretty boy, and the usually blank expression he wears enforces the impression that that's the case. It's only the way his ears slightly twitch or his eyes light up briefly when there's an interesting bit of information to know that could belie the deception of idiocy that he keeps up.

In terms of clothing, Michael wears shirts and pants that look just a little flamboyant while still remaining practical. His shirts are long sleeved, colorful, sturdy things that discreetly hide a gun-contraption on his forearm, designed to make him look just little too shallow to be up to something. His pants are more normal: they tend to be solid colored and just a little loose so that he can move around in them easily. This is by design; most people look primarily at shirts to determine style while ignoring pants unless those pants are particularly egregious in some way, and so Michael can afford to be a little more practical with lower wear. Michael usually does not wear shoes, finding them uncomfortable and annoying.

Personality: Michael’s reputation often precedes him. He’s a very well known pop star, an icon of celebrity with millions of fans (especially of the female variety) and is known for ending up in the tabloids. These exploits are just scandalous enough to get him labeled as a “bad boy” (and a bit stupid) without actually making him look like he’s callous or malicious. He's known for saying things just a tad out of touch with reality, and the general impression the public has of him involves the words "just a little bit stupid."

Which is just the way he likes it.

In reality, Michael Phloros is dangerously perceptive. He is a masterful reader of body language and tone, and almost always knows exactly what buttons to press to make people do what he wants. He's also a masterful planner, able to marshal his pieces to beautiful effect, getting what he wants with minimal effort and getting elegant results. He's smart enough and good enough at what he does that he has an entire network of contacts in high positions including the media, the Council (formerly), and many others, held together by blackmail and bribery and things far darker than the "pop star" image would imply.

Given how much he is the keystone of a wide network spanning the international community, he's naturally found himself the target of a lot of malfeasance. Ergo, he has ensured that he's very well prepared for life and death situations. The Gardevoir and Lopunny he keeps on his arms and calls his "girls", for example, are actually both incredibly well trained, capable of throwing down with the best, and all of his Pokemon are similarly powerful. He himself is well trained in both hand to hand and armed combat, but that's not where he really shines. He is powerful, magically, and excels especially at magics that are subtle and complex. In a life or death situation, he's likely to cast spells that help with his mobility and let him get into position to strike from afar.
History: When a six-year-old Michael was taken in by Gabriel, he could only be described as an absolute mess. He had been suffering under his father’s tender mercies for years, his mother not saying a word about it because of shame and perceived weakness on her part. When his mother was dead by his father’s hand, he was consumed by grief and rage. But that rage soon had no outlet, as Gabriel slew his father in turn. Lost, confused, and traumatized, Michael clung to Gabriel like a lifeline, as the only living adult who demonstrated even the slightest bit of care for him. Michael’s grief did not wane for a long time, but when Gabriel adopted him, it certainly made the grief sting less.

Gabriel’s first order of business was to take Michael to therapy, given that Gabriel had no concept of how to help another person deal with grief. Combined with the fact that he had never raised a small child before and knew absolutely nothing about how to do it, Gabriel knew that their impromptu family needed help. It took almost a year of help and kind words (on Gabriel’s part) and being terrified and crying (on Michael’s end), but eventually Gabriel got the hang of how to be a parent and Michael settled into being a child again.

Michael grew, and as he did, two talents emerged in full force. First, he knew how to read people. Long practice of figuring out when his birth father was most likely to be in a rage had developed an immense talent in him for understanding what people were really feeling without any magical help. He began to use his talents to make friends: with peers, with teachers, with people from across the street. It didn’t take him long to become beloved by many.

The second is that his voice was absolutely amazing. He had musical talent in spades, and when he sang, everyone went absolutely silent in the fears that they might miss a single words from his mouth. It took him only until the age of 12 to get noticed and strike it big.

Gabriel was there to keep Michael’s head on straight as he went through the stresses of being a star at a young age, thankfully. But soon he began to get stressed from other places. With his talent for reading people, Michael began to realize that many of the people around him, despite smiling in his face, were really terrible people. It bothered him immensely until he realized what he could do: terrible people did terrible things, and these people were in positions where having the terrible things you’ve done found out could absolutely ruin you.

So at the age of 13, Michael began to build a vast network of contacts. People he blackmailed, bribed, or otherwise coerced or charmed into finding things out for him, keeping an eye out on the various social and political climates in the world. Soon, he had the power to reach corruption in vast areas, and he began to carefully plot out the actions to take in response. He has ears in the entertainment industry, obviously, but also in political, legal, and business spheres that very quickly gave him an incredible amount of power to act, to help.

So needless to say, people became very wary of these indications of a new player on the field, and at the tender age of 15, Michael became the target of his very first assassination attempt.
With the assassin in both pieces and orbit thanks to Gabriel’s Mega Metagross, Michael decided it was high time to start becoming personally dangerous. So in between managing an active singing career, a bustling social life designed to make him look as undangerous as possible, and a fledgling empire of blackmail and favors, Michael began training himself and his Pokemon to terrifying extremes. He even acquired a Key Stone of his own (hidden on his person and kept as discreet as possible).

And the next assassin who came for him was killed before Gabriel could intervene.

After Bloodfall, Michael was absolutely infuriated. Gabriel’s raising left him with a deep respect for the Mechari (especially Galen, whom he basically treated as a big sister made of metal), and the takeover of Team Trainer set off alarm bells both in his head and throughout his network. So while Michael Phloros the pop star is still living it up and apparently both unaffected and oblivious, Michael Phloros the chessmaster with arbitrary amounts of resources has begun to use those resources to back the remnants of the High Magi Council in their mission...

Description: For someone called an “Angel”, Aria isn’t terribly impressive. Her figure is slender and short; she stands at 5'5", with little fat or muscle and a small bust. Despite her unimpressive physical frame, however, her wings are quite beautiful - her wingspan is a full 14', with well-kept white feathers banded black like the wings of a snowy owl. Like most of her feathers, Aria’s shoulder-length hair is snow-white; she typically keeps it tied back in a ponytail. Her facial features possess a gentle, almost childlike beauty, except for her dark eyes, which often look quite somber.

Typically, Aria wears light, pragmatic clothing for easy flight and casting - no metal that would weigh her down or redirect her own electricity, for instance. She carries a large leather satchel over her shoulder almost at all times, in which she carries most of her equipment. Although she wears little jewelry, she carries a Mega Bracelet on her right wrist at all times.

Personality: Passion and intelligence are Aria’s ruling characteristics. She is perceptive and curious, seeking out new knowledge and skills at every opportunity; she thrives best in an environment where learning is encouraged and where new challenges are always waiting. She prizes her independence and her ability to make decisions for herself. This does not, however, mean that she is unfriendly; she is outgoing and vibrant in her interactions with others - although the first thing she tends to do when stressed is shutting out everyone but her closest confidantes. Her confidence, quick wits, and contagious passion make her a natural leader.

However, Aria’s confidence and fiery nature - combined with a twist of natural idealism and naiveté - can often lead to recklessness. While she is not foolish, she has a tendency to get involved in things much bigger than herself, and try to carry too much of it on her own, which can often be damaging to her. Once she sets her mind on a particular cause or goal, she almost never backs out, no matter what the consequences are or how impossible the endeavor - which can be both a blessing and a curse.

Background: The vast majority of the Jegudiel family was never talented with strong magic. Most of them made their way in the world as Pokemon Trainers, merchants, or low-level politicians, where they hoped to elevate their stature through cunning rather than magical talent. Aria, however, displayed an affinity for magic - particularly of the "Dragon" and “Electric” varieties - before even the last of her fuzzy baby feathers had molted. Her parents, Sonata and Reed Jegudiel, were as non-magical as the rest of their ancestors. However, the pair was also a duo of Pokemon Trainers with connections to several reputable breeders. They gave Aria a Dratini and a Mareep, in the hopes that Aria would take to Pokemon training instead of spellcasting - or at the very least, learn from the two Pokemon how to use her talents without hurting herself or the furniture. Aria, Orville, and Lucille were inseparable, and she spent much of her childhood learning her magic through imitation of her Pokemon. Through training and trading (and a little bit of nepotism from dearest Mommy and Daddy), she was able to catch a full team.

However, as Aria grew older, she decided that as much as she loved Pokemon, she didn’t want to make them fight to earn her living. She was keenly interested in the magic that powered her world, and wanted to understand it - how could the races do what Pokemon could do? Why couldn’t her parents, aunts and uncles, and grandparents use magic as well as she could? Where did these strange powers come from? These questions and more pressed on her, despite her parents’ urgings to be happy with the talents she had rather than being greedy for more. Eventually these urgings turned into arguments; her parents were resentful of powerful mages, and worried thatt their daughter would be corrupted by a thirst for magic. After a particularly furious argument, seventeen-year-old spitfire Aria packed up her Pokemon and her belongings and left straight for the headquarters of the Council. Since then, she has had nothing but a few short, tense interactions with both of her parents over the Maginet.

At first, working in the Council was grueling. New Acolytes of the High Magi Council were always assigned the most difficult, tedious, or trivial tasks, and Aria was no exception- and the chores were beside the constant, rigorous studying. However, she threw herself into the work with a vengeance, finding worth in the life for which she had thrown away everything she had ever known. Her curiosity and intelligence, coupled with her skill in magic, enabled her to progress quickly as an Acolyte. She focused on more academic roles - researching magic, and teaching youngsters how to utilize their own magic most effectively. Long stints of arduous research with precious little payoff taught her diligence; attending to custodial tasks such as organizing the libraries or cleaning the halls taught her humility and patience; studying magic taught her how to temper curiosity with wisdom. By the comparatively young age of twenty-six, she had been recommended for the rank of Magus - a prestigious position, as the Magi each served directly under a High Magus, and often took on leadership roles in matters deemed not large enough to require the intervention of the High Magi.

    And then, the Bloodfall came.

The news poured in, a vicious wave of terrifying information. Each and every Magus and High Magus - a grand total of twenty-one people, many of whom had been friends or mentors to Aria - had been slaughtered. Rumor abounded that the murdered leaders had had their magic stripped away before their deaths, a concept that Aria found terrifying and utterly inconceivable. However, she decided that something had to be done. She had given her whole life to the Council, and she was not going to let it go in vain - especially not at a time when the wisdom and research of the Council was needed the most in order to combat the mysterious threat of the Repressors. She wrote out a message and left it in the main assembly room of the Council where the Acolytes would have once gathered, so that it was easy for anyone walking into the hall to see. This is what she wrote:

“If you’re reading this, I’m glad beyond words that you’ve returned to the Council’s seat of power. Unless you’re here to loot, it means that you remember all the good things that the Council has done for this world, or that you miss the fellowship of your fellow Acolytes, or that you still have a hunger for learning that only the books in these halls can fill. Regardless of your motives, I urge you to consider aiding me on my mission. I leave this message because I want your help in rebuilding the Council. If you believe that coming to a better understanding of magic is our only hope in stopping these Repressors once and for all, rather than putting all of our trust in politicians we barely know, then seek me out. My name is Aria Jegudiel, and I’m still a proud Acolyte of the High Magi Council. Look for the Angel with white wings banded black. I’ll be waiting.”

    Pokémon: Orville/Dragonite/M/Multiscale/Jolly Nature
    Lucille/Ampharos/F/Static/Calm Nature (Mega Capable)
    Maximus/Empoleon/M/Torrent/Rash Nature
    Seraphine/Delphox/F/Blaze/Quiet Nature
    Lyza/Sylveon/F/Pixilate/Sassy Nature
    Julius/Zoroark/M/Illusion/Naive Nature

    Other:
    - Although Aria was trained in the magical basics like all Acolytes, she specializes in Dragon and Electric spells. When it comes to magic, she’s powerful and a very quick study, able to pick up new spells with ease. Most of her magical talent lies in large workings; she can loose a thunderbolt more easily than she can cause a static shock, for instance.
    - Aria carries a Mirror on her at all times. It’s a bit old and doesn’t have too much in the way of gaming or other superfluous capabilities, but handy for making calls and keeping up with the news.
    - While prefers to fight with magic, Aria carries a small knife concealed on her person at all times. She also carries an oak staff with her at almost all times, as it is both a defensive weapon and an excellent focus for her spells. Furthermore, she wears a Mega Bracelet containing her Key Stone on her right wrist.
    - Aria was one of the Acolytes of the High Magi Council, and was very close to being made a Magus before the Bloodfall. Because of this, she is well-known among the other Acolytes, and has several contacts in the academic community and the remaining Acolytes, some of whom may aid her or join her cause in resurrecting the Council. She carries a sigil of the High Magi Council in her satchel at all times in order to prove her authenticity as an Acolyte.
    - Aria's family has several strong ties in the political system and the realm of Pokemon training and breeding. However, as Team Trainer supporters and Repressor sympathizers, they are more likely to stand in her way than they are to assist her.

So, I'm curious. When you wrote about the Neko race, it was described as feline humanoids. When you say this, I automatically assumed some kind of anthropomorphic thing, but so far it seems everyone else has assumed the more anime style of things. And while that's more true to the classic definition of "neko," the angels are stated to be the ones closest to human in appearance, so... How would you describe the Neko race, @Bronislav?

All done! I think. Do tell if things need to be fixed.

    Name: Galen "Eir" Phloros

    Gender: Female

    Species: Mechari

    Age: 30

    Team: The Phoenix Battalion

Description: Towering above most people at 9 feet tall, Galen is an elegant Mechari, where every one of her actions has a purpose. Compared with male Mechari, her face is narrow and angular. Her eyes are light purple, with the appearance of being half-asleep because of her headdress-like forehead. Though they are cast in shadow, they shine with internal lights. Yes, she has eyelids. However they seem rather redundant when her eyes always remain open all the time, earning her the nickname of "Violet" among peers that have seen her moving around in pitch-darkness in the dead of a night. Her "hair" is a mass of medium-length, dark-purple crystals protruding from the back of her head. They are angled backwards, giving the appearance of a mohawk. These crystals glow slightly in the dark as well. In addition to that, Galen also has wing-like, metal mandibles in place of where ears normally are on Angels and Nekos. They move as she speaks, and tends to be quite expressive in comparison to her monotone voice.

With the exception of her headdress-like brow and mandibles, her exoskeleton is a dull, gunmetal blue, seemingly absorbing parts of light whenever she stands in a well-lit area. In areas where it isn't gunmetal blue, a light, cream color is used. Her joints and neck are black in color. The material is strong, holding up well to falls from great heights and weaker magical attacks. To attest to this, Galen has fallen several stories off a building due to an accident and survived without so much as a scratch, though she certainly did feel the pain. On topic of her physical abilities, Galen is able to do a lot of heavy lifting and precision work by herself. Such is one of the advantages of being a Mechari. She is unable to lift extremely heavy objects such as a completely loaded shipping crate, but she's certainly able to move around larger medical equipments.

Despite her lithe body shape, Galen seems a lot larger than she looks because of the large doctor's coat she wears, one of the Healer's older coats when he outgrew them. On the collar is a stitched red cross, signifying her job as a doctor and medic working in the city hospital. Galen has two coats: one is in pristine condition, for use in a more hospital-like setting; the other is tattered and stained with blood and dust, used for when Galen works out in the field. The second coat has seen a lot more use due to the recent civil unrest. Also on her left arm, she wears an armband with a symbol similar to the Rod of Asclepius. Underneath the coat, she wears a woolen sweater, typically with some cute stitched animals in the center. Most days, she wears a black ribbon tied around her neck, especially if she feels that the day will turn out poorly. Galen has no need for shoes, as her hooves are tough enough to handle walking on most surfaces. Also, she wears a messenger bag and gun holster when not working in the hospital.

A quick sketch here: nanan though I'm not very good at this thing. Sorry about that :P

Personality: A pragmatic individual, Galen tends to see the world in black and white, with little gray in between. She's dedicated to her profession as a doctor though her peers say she may be too dedicated. Well, to the point where she treats everyone the same way, regardless of their race or background. A bit of an unusual world-view, especially in these times of conflict and racism. On the other hand, her treatment of others also finds its way into social interactions. Galen dislikes long-winded talks and would rather get to the point when talking about something. Where it would take a normal person minutes to express, she can express it in only a few words. Despite her seemingly aloof demeanor towards strangers and acquaintances, Galen genuinely cares for others to the point where she would gladly dedicate days to staying at the sickbed of a patient to make sure they get through their aliment with the best care possible. This is reflected by her strict adherence to the principles of ethics in medicine to the point where she staunchly refuses to kill and will work to her utmost limit to save a patient if there's even one chance of them living. That doesn't mean she will refuse to harm others if in the long run, it benefited more people. In short, Galen has a deep respect of life and the act of living. Also of note is the fact that Galen does not discriminate based on race or other characteristics, choosing to heal everyone regardless of whether they're her enemies or allies.

While not the best conversationalist, Galen enjoys speaking to other doctors, especially on the subject of healing spells. Her one passion lies with mechanical technology, and she is known for being happy to assist someone in fixing their car or a diagnostic machine or crafting a device needed in the hospital. With her skilled fingers and knowledge, Galen has acquired quite the reputation for her treatments, earning her the nickname of "Eir" or the Valkyrie of Medicine. Despite her skills, people may be unsettled by her monotone voice and lack of inflection, however, close friends are able to divine what she's feeling most of the time.

As a doctor, Galen is knowledgeable, easily identifying injuries and diseases with a single glance. Her encyclopedic knowledge has benefited her here, although it seems to be mainly in anatomy, medicine, and the various variety of healing spells. However, her knowledge also covers the breadth of most magical/technological advances, though she may have a harder time with ideas of philosophy. This knowledge has earned her the nickname of Eir among her peers at the hospital. Galen also has a well-grounded foundation in magic, however, she primarily applies this to Enchantment-style magic.

Background: The first thing Galen has in her database is the night Gabriel created her. The strewn about tools, the crackling snaps of electricity, and the small, stone-like child that stood in front of her with a wrench and a smile. She remembers the initial shock of Gabriel's family as she naturally slotted herself into their lives and their growing appreciation as she watched over Gabriel and his various projects. Since then, she's been charged as Gabriel's caretaker and takes after him in her pursuit of knowledge. She studied medicine and anatomy quickly and was certified as a practicing doctor after only five years of study. She took a comfortable job in the city hospital, taking care to be home as often as possible to make sure that Gabriel could take care of himself.

This is how life goes, until the night Michael arrived in their household. She was the one who disposed of both the male and female Neko's corpse. There was no chance of healing for the male Neko as insects gouged out every exposed skin on his body. As for the female Neko -- the only thing Galen could do was comfort her as she passed on. To each she gave a proper burial, though that night drove home her inability to save everyone. She carried on as usual after that night, with the exception of the shocked Neko child Gabriel decided to adopt. Over time, she came to be fond of him, though interested in a lot of his activity since they seemed to be things Gabriel didn't do. She was non-judgmental about the whole affair at the very least.

With the inclusion of Michael into the family, Galen took it upon herself to make sure that Michael made it through the trauma. And he did, as far as Galen knew. For some reason, her workload had increased to not only taking care of patients that trickle in from the surrounding areas, but also to developing and working on new medical technology. Not to mention, the amount of wounded people coming in from the recent civil wars led to her being called into action as an battlefield medic. Her skills as a doctor trumped many people's bigoted views of the Mechari. Galen came to be viewed as a lifesaver to many with her potent healing spells and expertise, leading to her being split between racing off towards any sort of conflict breaking out nearby and operating in the hospitals.

Galen is currently working with Gabriel and Michael to investigate the Bloodfall. She personally supports the rebuilding of the High Magi Council for being the most stable and proven option based on pre-Bloodfall events. She still offers medical support to those that need it including other teams, for those who pass through the swinging doors of the operating room deserve to be treated. However, she has some suspicions that whatever she's doing is prolonging the power struggle among factions.

    Pokémon:

    [Hippocrates] Blissey (F)
    [Athena] Metagross (NA)
[Fairweather] Lopunny (F) /can Mega-Evolve - Galen carries the Mega Stone on her wrist in bracelet form/
    [Titan] Golurk (M)
    [Tenderhorn] Sawsbuck (F)
    [Kiowa] Ludicolo (M)

    Other:
    • Motorbike - Galen owns a well-maintained motorbike. Since it's one of the earlier models of flying bikes, there's a few hiccups here and there. Over the years, Galen has skills to easily maneuver it in a fight to get to where she want to be. The bike sometimes acts as a living creature, however part of that can be chalked up to the little experiments Galen has done with the bike and Enchantment-type magic over the years. Bikes aren't supposed to be able to spit out fire, are they?
    • Revolver - Galen carries around a single-action revolver, stamped with "Contender", slightly modified to handle the power of the enchanted bullets as they leave the barrel. This is mainly for self-defense and faster treatment, especially in the heart of the conflicts that Galen finds herself in as a medic. Galen is known to be extremely precise with her shots, easily able to hit the same target multiple times in a row.
    • Bullets - If you tried pushing Galen over (good luck, she's heavy), a whole pile of bullets would spill out from the backpack she is carrying. Many of them have a cross inscribed on the bottom of the casing -- those are medical bullets, used primarily to heal someone upon impact. Others have different symbols: flames, ice shards, even a weird puffball-like shape -- and all of these bullets hold some sort of magic. It's rare that Galen would have regular bullets in her bag since all of them are enchanted in some way. Galen calls it a hobby, followed by a modest shrug of her shoulders. Late at night out in the field, small scratching sounds can be heard from her campsite as she works on enchanting the bullets. There are several known types of bullets in her bag:
      • Medical bullets - The strongest type of bullet Galen carries, these can heal anyone from near death to in-the-clear depending on the wounds. When shot from the gun, these bullets usually work the best on battlefield wounds such as gashes and cuts, though it takes a lot more bullets to do something like regrowing limbs.
      • Phase bullets - A rarity in Galen's bag since they don't make these kinds of bullets often, phase bullets have Ghost-typed properties. The bullets are able to pass through one obstacle while in flight, and hit something behind the obstacle. They carry the same velocity as a regular bullet.
      • Explosive bullets - Somewhat common in the bag, these bullets explode on impact. The explosions are much weaker than if they were enchanted by someone with specialization in fire magic, however it would do quite a bit of damage paired up with the velocity of a bullet.
      • Fluffballs - Another common variety, these produce soft piles of fluff upon impact. Common uses include shooting the fluffballs at a wall to create a pad in order to reduce damage from a crash, or at the ground to reduce the damage incurred during a fall. Shooting this variety at people causes them to be covered in fluff.
    • Magic - Galen isn't one to use spells. Fireballs, freezing spells, flight -- those aren't really her thing. Though she has a well-rounded foundation in using magic and is proficient at all kinds of Magitek, Galen prefers using stuff with inherent magic like her bullets to heal others. Following the rules of magic, Galen needs to use a command to release the stored magical power of the bullets, though she can use them with things other than her gun. True to her race, Galen is able to craft exquisite items, though her specialization is in mechanical parts such as for cars, robots, and all sorts of stuff. And seemingly, anything she touches works better than ever. Spells that are released from enchanted items Galen makes are stronger than their normal counterparts due to Galen's high skill in Enchantment. However, doing so is tedious and supplies are limited depending on where Galen is.

@bronislav84, I'm hoping this style of magic seems fine with you since in the worldbuilding, the system seems open-ended. I mean, in general it is item-based magic, not magic done by a caster, so it's a weird indirect route. Might be a bit confusing, I could clean that up if needed. If there's some stuff that needs fixing, just tell me.

Also before I get down to the meat of things, could I have a bit of a clarification on what a Mechari's appearance could look like? I'm currently assuming it's going to depend on the race of the creator that made them. Would it be possible to have a merfolk appearance or such, but without the problem of that particular race, or does racial qualities also play into the Mechari being created?

    Thanks!

Finally something I do need to reply to. Everything else seems fine guys.

This race is Male-looking and Female-looking, and the part about other genders refers to people playing organic characters who's mental gender is different from their physical gender, or transsexuals who had their genetics magically altered and weren't born their current gender. This race is referred to by genders, actually. So please choose one.

All races can do magic conventionally unless you prefer to handicap your character purposefully. While yes it's item based, there's casting magic as well.

This race is based on the same named race from Wildstar. The same is true for Granok and Chua. While this isn't Wildstar, these three races seemed fitting and we used them. So Google is your friend.
