It also cannot actually transform without revealing its true colors first, especially the ones like you with ditto faces after transformation/possession, so it's hard to trick people or pokemon as a ditto.

Ditto can do a bunch of stuff without transforming. I mean, just look at those bulging muscles!

Your tail still appears when you transform. Touch it and POOF you're back to normal.

While that may be one of Zorua's weaknesses, it's not too terribly difficult to hide a tail, and I'm not just talking "transformation" illusions, as they can create fire illusions and more as well.
