    Great choice!

Brookheights is obviously much bet͓̮̻̘̹̭͓͓̣͕͍͎͗ͮ͛̈̇͒ͤ͂͗̅̏̑ͨ͢͡ter than the ghetto Northwind mess where kids would rather throw chalk at each other than actually learn anything useful in life. The gray brick building is quite big, and covers quite a few grades, but you decide you want to check out the first five floors and say to hell with everything else for now.

You start by searching the cafeteria. Well, it's nothing m̧̢͕͖̞͚͙͍͎̟̠͙̣͖͔͉̾̈́̌́͘͠uch at night with everyone at home and either studying their tails off for midterms or actually getting sleep for once, but the wooden floors, metal tables and chairs, and the stonė͈͙͔͚̬͍̺̜̘͎̹̹ͫͨ̍̏ͩͩͨͤͯͦ͝ walls are actually decent and it looks like the janitor actually does their job for once. A kid could puke their entire school lunch and it would actually get cleaned up before the end of the day. You check out the kitchen and it seems clean, but͓̮̻̘̹̭͓͓̣͕͍͎͗ͮ͛̈̇͒ͤ͂͗̅̏̑ͨ͢͡ you know that terrible-tasting school lunches are universal law. That's how they get you to focus on your classwork more! It's a conspiracy.

You decide to check out the gymnasium, knowing Gung told you about something his kid spider found in the back of the bleachers. Oh, and the suicide story, too. Well, you decide that's something cool you rea̵̡̼͓̖̜͉͍̱̬͂̂̽̓ͯ͛ͭͭ͡͠lly want to look into, so you check it out because you just can't hold back the excitement! Far out! You head to the Silver Vault, which hasn't changed much since when Amia last checked it and discovered the electronic lock encasement. You do one quick search around just to make sure everything is still in place, but you don't see anything that has occurred since Amia was last here.

You locate the Electronic Lock Encasement and turn on the control console lock. It's not a complicated system and you're able to locate the base electronic components to perform a full and complete functional factory reset on the firmware without triggering any security mechanisms in the first place. The system starts up as if it were installed and initiated for the first time, prompting for security administrator configuration. You simply create your own security systems administrator account and give yourself full access to completely disengage the lock through the functional system. The lock slides back and you open the safety deposit box.

Immediately, a soft, peaceful, and reassuring glow fills the room. You reach inside and there seem to be pages, supernatural with an almost ethereal glow to them. You're definitely reminded of some of the other things the rest of the team found and you know these were likely stuffed in here to avoid ever being found. In fact, you're quite sure this safety deposit box was never in use in the first place.

[Summoner Calling Instructions Pages 3of4] was added to the Team Inventory.

As you can tell, whoever decided to hide these in here couldn't include the entire manual. It had to have been split and you're certain they divided it up into pieces like this so it would be hard to reassemble it. But you decide this is definitely something that shouldn't have been pulled apart like this.

You decide to head back to base with what you have found.

You head on into Destno Housing Complex, noticing how disturbing it looks in the darkness. You shelve any reservations you have and head on in, slowly clopping through the foyer before taking the shaky lift up to floor 31. You turn on your headlamp and begin looking around, trying to pinpoint anything that may of be use. Nothing stands out to you as you scour the floor, then head on up to the ones above.

You find nothing of use until the 40th floor, when you see something shiny glint under your headlamp. You close in on it, able to see up close that it is a hammer. It seems to have just been left here, and for what purpose, you are unsure. You roll it over with your hoof to find any traces of material and find, to your surprise, a name engraving; Spimmley. You wonder what the Hippopotas' hammer could be doing here, and elect to take it with you in a satchel you brought along.

Item [Spimmley's Hammer] was added to the Team Inventory.

Knowing that this is all you will find in this area of the building, you return back to base.

You head to the Brookheights Building and go to floor 9, where you were told that the Sapling Household is. You knock on the door, hoping that Mahyen is home, and there is half a minute of silence before you hear the door groan and slowly open. Standing in the doorway is a Nosepass looking rather timid at the appearance of a large Steel-type at her doorstep. To settle her nerves, you explain why you're here and assure her of her protection.

"Th-thank you!" she stammers, clearly shocked at your appearance. "That's so kind of you. My son needs protection as well." She turns around, signalling to the small Bonsly just behind her. He peers out at you and beams, excited to have a visitor. "Off with you, now," she tells the small Rock-type gently, and he runs a few laps of the living room before speeding into his room.

Mahyen invites you in, offering you a snack before she turns in for the night. She bids you goodnight, again thanking you for your selfless act. She doesn't mention her mate, and you get the sense that it's a sensitive subject for her which she isn't quite ready to discuss with a stranger.

After your pleasant snack, you situate yourself outside her door and wait, watching for anything that may come your way during the night.

(AKA: I'm not caught up yet, and I don't have time to read through before the night cycle ends)

    Search: (57) Kingsmark Supermarket
You see the Kingsmark Supermarket has closed for the night, as you can tell vandalism and theft is one of the main issues here as the supermarket has had to put security grating all over the windows and the front door. Meanwhile, the gray brick building has signs of graffiti and scuffing, but overall, it still does well for itself considering what it has to deal with in the neighborhood.

You manage to find a way to sneak in through climbing on the dumpster in the back and slipping your way through an unlocked window. It's a little dark inside, but your headlamp helps in searching around the area.

There's quite a lot to buy here from produce, breads, meat, diary, frozen foods, and many other products. Despite the nature of the supermarket, it seems most of the goods for sale are in good condition. The linoleum-tiled floor is relatively clean and well-taken care of while the aisles are well-stocked for the most part. While the interior lighting is dim, a lot of the refrigeration, freezer, and cooling units are still running throughout the night.

While searching the checkout stands, you notice an unusual glowing pipe tucked under one of the checkout worker areas. It would be very easy to miss during the day when all the lights are on, but in the dim light, it has its own illumination and it quickly catches your interest. You take a closer look at it feels very reassuring to the touch. It looks like it was the shaft of some kind of staff or something like that, but it seems very out of this world and appears to be made out of some incredible, golden metal alloy. You decide to take it with you.

Item [Starcaller Shaft] has been added to the Team Inventory.

You make one last check around the building, but you don't find anything else that seems strange or unusual. You decide to head out the same way you came, and you make sure to close and lock the window behind you so no one else can try to rob and steal from the place.

You return to Runner Chemical Plant just hours before the sun is set to rise again. You know that the inside has been fully scoured, but the outside might still hold some secrets. However, as you float onto the property, the first thing you see is what looks to be a very old fashioned, non-hovering vehicle. In fact, this one has wheels, a concept you know has been outdates for decades.

You make a note to scan the rest of the exterior after speaking with the Pokémon who looks to have their head stuffed under the elevated front end of the car. At the tip of their red tail burns a bright flame, which you can only imagine belongs to a Charmeleon. As you close in, the Pokémon sees you and extracts himself, standing upright as he greets you. He's wearing an old, scuffed, brown boot on one foot, but not the other.

"Hello, stranger. You wouldn't happen to sell old, discontinued parts for hunks of junk, would you?" he asks, gesturing to his car. You answer that you do not. "Bugger! That puts me in a pickle..." He brings a claw to his head and scratches. "I'm missing a tyre. Unfortunately these old beasts can't run without 'em, but I'm just a visitor in Silvercoal, so I don't know where to find one!" He points to a back wheel. "I know Valvos are old piles of crap, but I just can't live without mine. I cut and polish this thing at least once a week because phew, I can't stand seeing a speck of dirt on her. And if it rains..." He widens his eyes and shakes his head, as if imagining the horrific scene playing out in his mind.

"Anyway, I'm Muj! You look like a capable fellow!" he asserts, growing another smile. "Why dontcha put your skills to work and lend me a hand, huh? Or a...rod? Heh, sorry, not sure what you'd call it." He cringes at himself and tries to change the subject. "I can see you're busy, but if you do happen to come across a spare Valvo tyre, please gimme a yell. I'm gonna be stuck here until I can find one... I have somewhere close by I can stay, but this bucket of scrap isn't going anywhere till I can get that tyre. Oh, and..." He hesitated a moment, pointing to his feet. "I'm missing one of my trusty work boots. Had these things for three years and they're perfect for trekking through the woods. Yeah, I do that a lot. Sometimes drunk...mostly while drunk."

You can see that this unfortunate Charmeleon could use some assistance, and while you're here, you figure you might be able to give it. You float under the car, where you see a small area in need of repairing. You get to work, much to the Fire-type's surprise. When it's all done, he gives you a giant smile and slaps you on your lamp back.

Object {Muj the Charmeleon's Broken-Down Valvo: <Repair>, Missing Tyre, Missing Work Boot} was noted in the Team Records.
Reward: x1 Adrenaline Syringe, x1 Verve Syringe

"Thanks a bunch, brother!" He grins, explaining that he can give you one Adrenaline Syringe and one Verve Syringe if you can find him a spare tyre and his missing work boot. You keep this in mind, then search the rest of the building's exterior. You find nothing, but figure that getting two rewards for finding a few missing things for this Charmeleon is good enough.

SEARCH MISSION OPENED: Find Muj's missing work boot and a tyre for his Valvo!

You head back to base, sure that you already have the tyre, but just need the boot.

    42. Sampson the Snubbull has been murdered by the Stalkers.

Location: Outside of the Superplex Shopping Center West
Cause of Death: Strung up with rope and eviscerated vertically

Sampson, a nutritionist, was found strung up like shirt on a clothesline. His face had been permanently frozen with the look of absolute sheer horror in his eyes and with a gawking mouth while his entrails, blood, and organs had slithered out of his broken rib cage and had piled up into a macabre mound below his suspended, now puppet-like corpse.

Bonnie the Nidoqueen had been the first to discover the body as she was heading back to her hovercar in the parking lot. She had been hardened and her stomach was like steel, but she couldn't help but be taken back a bit when she saw Sampson's fate. The pink, bulldog-like Pokémon truly had died very painfully.

Pormalu never found this easy. The rugged Arcanine had seen quite a lot during his career, but the sight of a dead body, especially in this condition, was something he couldn't ever get used to and completely desensitized to. But at least he didn't vomit like the first time he saw a truly eviscerated body like this one.

"So cause of death would be..." Fern began as she took pictures and notes on her tablet, "...actually, maybe I should just put 'everything.'"

"This is exactly the way I found him," Bonnie told Fern and Pormalu. "Some damn Stalker gutted this poor Snubbull like a fish and hung him up like some carcass on a meat hook. Who the hell would want to do that to this poor thing?"

"Did you hear anything or see anything out of the ordinary when you found him?" Fern asked Bonnie. "Even just the smallest detail might help. Whoever did this needed time to organize all this."

"I checked all around to make sure whoever did this wasn't still around to do it to me!" Bonnie explained. "I was going to mess them up if I saw them! But no, I didn't find anyone or hear anything. How did nobody hear him scream?"

In the meantime, Pormalu tried to get a better idea of how this happened. In the dark of the night, it still would have been hard to eviscerate the Snubbull's body and then hang it like this. The rope was strung around a lamp post and a hook that had been driven into the concrete wall. He knew that would have taken time to set up, and it would have had to be done after Sampson was killed. But still, Pormalu couldn't understand why a Stalker would go through all the trouble.

It wasn't long until Pormalu had ordered a forensics and crime scene cleanup team to cut Sampson down and gather the remains into a black body bag. This was definitely the thing that had to be cleared before dawn, or else shoppers were going to see it and be horrified. The area had already been roped off with police tape, but the last thing anyone needed to see was a pile of body parts and a fully gutted Snubbull.

"This sucks..." Fern muttered as the body was taken away in a van. "We're just not getting any closer to figuring out who in this city is doing this!"

"We've never had to deal with something like this before," Pormalu stated as he stared into the blood puddle that was where the pile of body parts had once been. "I just hope that this is the worst incident that we'll ever have to deal with. Because I'm not sure how much more this city can take..."
