The Nintendo Direct held Thursday morning was led with two Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon announcements. Snorlax has an exclusive Z-Move and Rattata has an Alolan form!
Snorlax’s Z-Move is called Pulverizing Pancake and accessing this move will be simple for those who buy their copies of Sun and Moon before January 11, 2017. This is because a special Munchlax will be downloadable before then as an early purchase bonus. This Munchlax will be holding a special item called Snorlium Z. Evolve Munchlax while it’s holding this item and your resulting Pulverizing Snorlax will be able to use its Z-Move. This Munchlax will also know the moves Hold Back and Happy Hour.

Alolan Rattata are different from other Rattata we’ve seen. They are nocturnal and live in urban areas. They excel at sniffing out tasty food, but they won’t eat it if it’s not fresh.

As a countermeasure to the exploding Rattata population in the Alola region, Yungoos were imported and released. To better avoid Yungoos, Rattata changed their preferred environments and circadian rhythms. These adaptations to their new environment led to their changed form.
