Does the canonicity of Detective Pikachu just provide us with the final pieces of evidence to prove one of the oldest Pokémon fan theories?
The folks over at Film Theory sure seem to think so! The successful film broke a lot of ground, not only by being one of the most popular video game inspired films in a long time, or by reminding everyone why Bulbasaur is one of the most universally adored Pokémon, but also it hinted at some lore that has gone relatively untouched for almost two decades.
This week on Film Theory, Matpat and his team are taking a look at the Ditto are failed clones of Mew theory. As he explains in the video, this theory has existed since the days of Pokémon Yellow with a lot of solid evidence. However, it is still just a theory for a reason. So what could Detective Pikachu bring to the table that could help give fans an answer to this theory? Well you’ll just have to watch it to find out.
