With Pokémon GO Fest 2021 behind us, we look to August to give us even more fun. Look forward to new Spotlight hours every Tuesday and Raid Hours every Wednesday. The conclusion to the Ultra Unlock that was earned during GO Fest will also take place.
This event runs from August 1st, 2021 at 1 p.m. PDT, to September 1st, 2020 at 1 p.m. PDT. So let’s get into it and see what the eighth month has in store for you.
Weekly Bonuses
Complete a Field Research task every day for a seven days will get you a particularly uncommon Pokémon. Chimecho will be featured this month. Be sure to get as many as you can, and Pinap it, as this Pokémon doesn’t spawn all that often. You will also receive double XP for opening the Research Box as part of the Season of Discovery.
Once per week, you can purchase a box in the shop for one PokéCoin. This box will contain a Remote Raid Pass among other useful items.
Raids
The following will be in Five-Star Raids during August:
- Dialga will continue to appear in five-star raids until Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Have you found a Shiny one yet? Good luck if you haven’t.
- Palkia will be appearing in five-star raids from Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Palkia can also be found in it’s Shiny variant for lucky or persistent Trainers.
What is in store for Five-Star Raids after that? You are going to have to wait to find out. But rest assured we will have all the details when the time comes.
Additionally, you can find the following in Mega Raids:
- Mega Charizard X will still appear until Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Mega Ampharos will follow, from Friday, August 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Mega Beedrill will buzz in from Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Mega Pidgeot will make an appearance from Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday September 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
This Month’s Raid Hours should come as no surprise, but every Wednesday you will find:
- August 4, 2021: Dialga
- August 11 & 18, 2021: Palkia
- August 25, 2021: TBA with the Ultra Unlock part 3
Look forward to a BONUS Raid hour with an undisclosed Pokémon on Monday August 30th at the usual time 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Spotlight Hours
What is in store for you every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., you are about to find out.
- August 3, 2021: Magnemite and earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- August 10, 2021: East Sea Shellos and earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.
- August 17, 2021: West Sea Shellos and earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
- August 24, 2021: ??? and earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
- August 31, 2021: ??? and earn twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
I have been covering the monthly events for a while now, and never has there been so much mystery and intrigue, I can’t wait to see what Niantic has in store for us.
