One Piece is one of those series that starts of REALLY slow but gets much better over time. I mean, it's not perfect- but it's still pretty good once you get past the entire introduction ARC. Yeah. Long introduction. xD

Yeah, One Piece I used to watch on TV when I was a kid...but I never really made an effort to get up EVERY morning to do so. xD I couldn't really get into it, either.
AND OH MY GOSH, YOU NEVER FINISHED THE LAST AIRBENDER?! It's a must. xD So funny! The Legend of Korra is good, too, but not as awesome as the first series.
Yeah, I think that's what did it in for me. I kind of need that intriguing storyline hook right from the beginning, or I drift off and my interest isn't caught.
Games, movies, and series that don't grab my attention quickly are usually put on the backburner and I almost always never revisit them. And sometimes you have the opposite effect happen. The Walking Dead, for example, had a really great pilot episode and I really got into it at first. The first season was pretty good, but then it really slowed down after that and after a while, poof, I was out.
I think Game of Thrones is the only series I'm still really into watching. All the others I've watched either finished or I just stopped caring about them.
Here's the thing: You can SKIP the entire first 'season' and still figure things out. xD It's mostly, Introduce new crew member, share their tragic backstory, fight boss, repeat. xD Once you get to the Loguetown story, the actual story kicks in.
One Piece is a VERY long-term story. Foreshadowing starts from very early and may not pay off for hundreds of episodes. At this point, catching up with the anime is VERY difficult, so I often recommend following the manga instead for new people. Anyone who wants to get into One Piece have to be ready to be in it for the long-run. xD IT's not for everyone, but I do love it.
Okay first off HOW DARE YOU NOT FINISH THE LAST AIRBENDER.
Secondly One Piece does start slow but is so worth it. Obviously you didn't follow the three episode rule.
Mmm, I wish I had the time, though. I feel like I need to have an army of clones to catch up on all the game, movie, anime, series, and book recommendations I get from everyone. XD
My stepsister made me watch the whole series, and I thought I wouldn't like it, but it was REALLY GOOD. Never saw the movie, I heard it was an atrocity.
@Neo Emolga
NEO! HOW DARE YOU DROP ATLA, I AM HURT! I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS.
But seriously, rewatch the last airbender. Wang Fire commands it.
