So apparently my roommate dropped her phone down an elevator shaft?

How does that even happen?

I can't even right now.

She was apparently trying to stop the elevator or something and the door hit her hand so she dropped her phone down the crack between the shaft and the elevator.

That is a heartbreaking moment. I know i can't live without my phone...

Wow, that sucks. I've always been wary about that gap that's there. That and openings in storm and sewer drains.

Yeah and they can't retrieve it until Monday.

Wow, I'm actually surprised they can retrieve it at all. I imagine all kinds of interesting things have fallen into that gap and have ended up on the bottom of the elevator shaft.

And I'm sure some people have stuffed their garbage into it, also...
