As an old forum mod, I don't see the harm in it, if the post is relative and not bashing on the topic at hand. I don't like a legion of threads on the same topic when the original thread can be posted in. Free from clutter. Under certain circumstances, which have been brought up already, i can see where necromancy would be filthy. You will get sparced if you post in a holiday thread, simple as that.
