Introduction
I had the idea of this a little while back, but with a disposable camera, however it never ended up happening due to me forgetting about it, and a few factors I couldn't avoid. The other day I had the idea again when I was at work. Since cleaning fertilizer brewing tanks is boring, mind numbing work, I had plenty of time to ponder over it. The idea evolved into using an SD or Micro SD card that people could put straight into their phones or cameras, however decided that it wouldn't work as easy due to different devices creating different file structures, and by the time I included some readers, it'd just be easier using a flash drive. So here is the pitch.

How it works
Step 1: We get a list together of all those who wish to be involved with this project/experiment.
Step 2: I reorder the list based off of locations and get a sequence together.
Step 3: I purchase a USB flash drive. I create a folder in it with my user name, then take a few pictures and videos about me and my life that I'd like to share, and stick them in my folder.
Step 4: I mail the flash drive to whoever is next on the list (generally, whoever is closest to me. Granted, I know all the people close to me, so I would probably just drop it off to them)
Step 5: Whoever has the flash drive does the same thing. Makes a folder with their name and fills it with photos and videos about themselves they'd like to share. They then get it to the next person on the list and so forth.
Step 6: Eventually the flash drive gets to the end of the list and is mailed back to myself, who will compile it together as a cool electronic-scrapbook type of thing.

The reason for using a USB instead of cloud which would be easier and cheaper is that I feel like it makes it a little more special having the USB travel around the world and people actually take photos and videos for the sake of this, as opposed to just making a cloud drive and people chucking random photos they have lying around. I feel like this will connect people a little more.

So you want to be involved?
I will have sign ups open for a couple of weeks, then have a cut off date, in which I will do some magic, and compile a sequence, in which the flash drive travels the shortest distance (allowing for cheaper postage). After that, sign ups are closed. At the moment, the cut off date is in three weeks. Saturday the 1st of October. To sign up, simply post the following form.

Terms and Conditions
-To be part of this project, a postal address is required. There are only two people who will have access to this; myself and whoever has to mail you the flash drive. If you would rather myself not know the postal address (Not sure why though. I'm harmless ;) ), once the sequence is created, you may converse privately with the person who is sending you the flash drive, and get the postal address directly from them. If you don't want that person having your postal address, I can try and shuffle the sequence around so someone else mails it to you, but if I can't you may either have to deal with it, or back out from the project.
-Before you mail it, you must make a backup of the flash drive, in the event of the next person on the list losing it/bailing and not sending it or it getting lost in the mail. This way, if it does get lost, we can purchase a new flash drive and restore it from the backup.
-To show you have actually read the terms and conditions, when you answer the question about it in the sign up form, please have the answer in italics...
-It is your responsibility to pay for postage and to ensure the flash drive gets to the next person on the list. To make this as easy as possible it is compulsory to send the flash drive with some sort of tracking number.
-You will have an allocated amount of space on the flash drive depending on the amount of people who participate and the size of the flashdrive. This will be disclosed once sign ups close.
-The terms and conditions may change at any time. I will post here if they do notifying you to have a quick read through them again.

Hopefully we can pull this off. If we get a decent group together, it'd be a hell of an achievement!

Just as a question offhand. How long would each person have the flash drive in their possession before they're expected to pass it along to the next person?

Also, I might have to descend into the dark side by getting a selfie stick for this, but it'll be worth it.

Im thinking maybe a week but I won't be a nazi about it. Like if someone holds it a little longer but keeps us informed, then I am cool with it. Communication is key. And accepted btw!
