Two new bizarre Ultra Beast characters have been announced to appear in the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games. In fact each one can be found exclusively in either Sun or Moon.

UB-02 Absorption is in Pokémon Sun. Its whole body is covered in bulging muscles, giving its punches immense power. Its long, needle-like mouth is said to be “harder than diamonds.”

UB-02 Beauty is in Pokémon Moon. Its slender legs help it to reach such speeds that it can dodge lightning! Pokémon, regardless of gender, have been known to become infatuated with UB-02 Beauty on sight, loosing the will to battle.

These are... beyond bizarre. And not in a good way.

UB-02 Absorption honestly looks like it belongs in some other game series, not Pokémon. Despite that, I'd say everything about it looks great save for the head. The head just completely ruins it. It just seems weird and almost funny that here it has a huge, muscular robot-like body, and then the head of a mosquito. That's on the level of replacing Optimus Prime's head with the face of Mickey Mouse.

As for UB-02 Beauty, it instantly made me think of a white cockroach. From space. I'm also having a tough time trying to figure out its face. Huge, toothy eyebrows, teeny black slits for eyes, and then barely a dot for a mouth. The rest of its body looks like someone emptied out their kitchen cupboards and used all the cups and plates they could get to make its torso, legs, and arms.

"Pokémon, regardless of gender, have been known to become infatuated with UB-02 Beauty on sight, loosing the will to battle." Seriously!? Say hello to one Emolga that finds the idea of whacking this thing with a sledgehammer a phenomenal idea.

Needless to say, I definitely don't see myself using either of these, and I'm kind of expecting them to be broken and OP in silly, stupid ways.

My first impression of Absorption was buff mosquito. It remains unchanged.

As for Beauty, I agree with the sledgehammer idea. I like that it's speedy, but I've never been one for physical attraction so... Yeah.

I'm still not quite sure what to make of the Ultra Beasts in general.
