Perry picked up the radio that the girl had set on the desk and was pleasantly surprised to see that Devon's near-monopolistic control over Hoenn's consumer product market had some benefits. Setting the PokéNav next to the other device, Perry began to address the other trainer's question, "Both of these machines were built by the Devon Corporation and, as such, are both powered by the same model and make of rechargable battery, partly because it was easier for customers to get it repaired, but largely because standardization was cheaper." Now, he turned to his Pachirisu, "My plan is to get Chloe to replicate the same electric jolt that would normally be created by the alterations caused by a power cord and use it to reboot both devices."

Failing to notice the silent exchange between the Houndoom and its trainer, Perry helped his Pachirisu crawl up on the desk, where she began to examine the back of both the radio and the PokéNav, pulling off their backs to take a look at the batteries inside. "While we may not have done this before," Perry said, "Chloe knows a lot about electrical theory on account of the training she had before I met her."

After another minute of exploring, the Pokémon gave her trainer a nod. "Alright," Perry said, "she's ready." He stepped back, and motioned for the girl and her Houndoom to do the same. When she was satisfied with the distance, the Electric Pokémon's fur began to bristle with energy as blue sparks leaped their way across Chloe's fluffy tail. Then, with a sharp cry, she let loose a massive discharge of energy that lit up the whole room, and beyond as light seeped through the worn-down building, revealing the position of these two trainers and their Pokemon to anyone who might be watching.

But that wasn't a concern for Perry right now, he was paying more attention to the whip-like tendrils of electrical energy that were striking the floor far enough away from the others as to not cause harm, but still close enough to keep them awake. Chloe then gritted her teeth and focused, and one by one, the off-shoots of electricity died out, until there were only two, gradually working their way over to the broken machines. The PokéNav was the first to be hit, followed shortly by the radio. As energy surged into them, both devices came to life as the radio began blaring static, and the PokéNav's display screen lit up.

The Pachirisu looked at her handiwork, and, satisfied, stopped generating electricity. She crawled off the desk and over to Perry, getting back on his shoulder as he thanked her for a job well-done. Then, he picked up the PokéNav, and was disappointed to see that, while charged, its screen was still cracked, severely hindering its capabilities. With a grimace, he stuffed it back into his bag, and then grabbed the radio and handed it to the other trainer. It was still blaring static, and Perry had to speak over it, "I think it's safe to say it worked."
