Participating in the chat threads like Last Poster Wins and Other Chat DCC seems to be a good way to get to know people more casually rather than from more official posts elsewhere. Dropping random VMs probably helps too, if you notice you have something in common with someone!

Hoenstly I am super shy and bad at small talk in general. xD If I wasn't an admin, which makes it easy cos people are always asking you stuff, I would probably hardly know anyone either. xDD

I'll try more with that. Usually though with Last Poster Wins I see a topic I want to contribute to, but the conversation has moved on already and it feels weird to bring it up again. Like when people were talking about plushies. I was all excited going to reply, but then realized that there were like four more pages and no one was talking about it anymore. I guess I could try to bring it up anyways or something?

That's happened to me too! I find if I just quote the person who said it (even if it's an old post) and reply to it, then they will usually come back and reply to it anyway! And it may even steer the whole topic back to the old one! xD Now that you get notified when someone quotes you, it's a lot easier to continue a conversation. :)

Same. D: I also don't want to reveal myself too quickly which means holding off on super personal messages. xD Everyone will know who I am once I hit certain members. If I was gonna send some I would be targeting the people who only have a one or two xD That's probably why you get to a certain amount and then it tapers off unless you are Xanthe.

I'm sure everyone will get heaps on Valentine's Day though! :D

I've been trying to do that more, when I first came over to PXR i kept my nose in the Whyphy threads trying to come up with ways to get people into the metagame.

but now i'm spending more of my time in the non pokemon threads trying to get to know people better, and letting my more mature side spend as much time as the toys 'r' us kid i have trapped inside...err wait...that sounds weird.
