I just got Final Fantasy VII, and I'm really enjoying it. :D
Who else has played Final Fantasy?

I've played VII through IX and every one of the Tactics series of games, but when they did away with the turn-based combat it didn't quite feel the same.
About a year ago I tried the MMO, but I couldn't get into it and leveling felt really slow.
I've played most of them main series games and a good number of the spin offs. I'm a weirdo who picks FFXII as her favorite. I just love how open the world is. Running into an area with enemies 30 levels higher than you is always fun! The battle system I think did a lot of good for the open world, too- no random encounters. You can see the enemies and attempt to avoid them or run for your life!
My first one was 8, but I've played the original and 2 (Dawn of Souls versions) SNES and GBA versions of 4, 5, 6, some of X, and XII
I liked XII too--Balthier (in English) is a dead ringer for Captain Jack Sparrow in the voice department.

Everyone has a dream that fills their heart. A journey they must take. A destiny to fulfill. As close as your imagination exists a magical place, where wondrous creatures with incredible powers help make dreams come true. It's the world of Pokemon!!"
I'm playing FFX At the moment. I'm loving the characters, and the story is pretty good overall, but the gameplay gets a bit tedious. The boss battles are awesome, but there are too many areas that are basically just long hallways where you fight the same 3 or 4 enemies over and over. Also, I wish that instead of your party healing at every save point, you could save more frequently but your party healed less often, meaning it would be much easier to run out of supplies, and you wouldn't have points where it's an hour to the next save point.
I'll probably try FFVII or FFIX once I beat FFX and FFX-2

Surprisingly, I haven't played too many Final Fantasy games. I've played VII (who hasn't?) and I've played bits and pieces of XII, but I couldn't fully get into XII due to the battle mechanics/system and whatnot. I'd have to say my favorite Final Fantasy game to date is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. It's a spectacular game from start to finish and it's got one of the coolest stories I've personally seen in any video game.
I would love to play XV eventually!

The MMO sounds interesting. I kinda want to try it.
