Name: James Patrick Sullivan

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Good/Bad/Neutral: He's /something/. He hasn't said what. But he doesn't say much in general, so.

Appearance: James Patrick Sullivan is enormous, topping 7 feet tall and 300 pounds (none excess). He's built like a semi, and he looks like the kind of person who can punch through a door and still knock out the person on the other side with the same hit (fitting, considering that he actually has). He rarely speaks, and the few terse words that do make it through his laconism come out in a basso growl. His face is usually set in a neutral expression, but his size makes it seem like he's unfriendly regardless. His sky blue eyes are set against a light olive complexion, and his black hair and beard are cropped very close to the skin. He usually wears jeans and a white T-shirt, with a digital watch on his left arm. On top, he puts on a blue jacket, with pockets for all sorts of goodies.

Personality: Introverted. James is very introverted. He doesn't say much, doesn't go out often, and manages to be overlooked despite being way bigger than most everyone around him. When he is noticed, people generally go out of their way to avoid him, thinking him to be some sort of thug (a view not helped by his laconism).

Dr. James Sullivan is, in reality, terrifyingly sharp. The number of things that escape him total a whole zero, and he's especially perceptive in social interactions, to the point where his PhD is actually in psychology. His introversion has also served him well in conjunction with his perceptiveness: he's actually figured out how to understand Pokemon speech, like learning a human language. His education has also made him quite competent at manipulation, and he's capable of planning for the long haul. He exploits his apparent thuggishness ruthlessly, and his brilliant mind has made him into a more than competent trainer and battler. His body makes him immediately dangerous, but his mind has made him a long range player.

Not that anyone knows what the frack he’s playing in the long range. He apparently has some kind of working relationship with the Starr Corporation (despite the fact that all of his Pokeballs are the old Sliph Co. models), but he keeps quiet about it. His Pokemon are rarely in their balls anyway: he keeps them “around” when asked, generally in strategic positions to gather him information. He’s talented in knowing things he definitely shouldn’t because of this.

History: We don’t know. He’s kept it entirely too quiet. The only thing known is his name, which most who have investigated believe is assumed, and a number of documents, which most who have investigated believe are forged (his Pokemon make people believe that he may have originally hailed from Unova). He emerged at the age of 17, quietly blurring through his undergraduate degree and then his Ph.D. Anyone who challenged him to a battle had a habit of getting quite thoroughly trounced, sometimes viciously, leading to speculation that wherever he used to hail from, it wasn’t pleasant. This is further supported by the fact that he holds himself in a way that suggests he’s personally capable of violence, as well.

After his sudden appearance, he apparently took steps to ensure both he and his Pokemon were in top form. People could see him working out, or taking his Pokemon to gyms to keep them in top form. He’s also in contact with a fair number of employees of the Starr Corporation, and apparently has done some sort of business with them. The Corporation is amiable towards him, but they definitely have an eye or seventeen on him.

Pokemon:

[Ziz] Volcarona (F)
-Bug Buzz
-Fiery Dance
-Hurricane
-Quiver Dance
Spoiler:

Ziz exists to be cautious. She's no coward, but she believes that risks should not be taken unless they're an absolute necessity. Therefore, she prefers to avoid fights and conflict, as they have unpredictability built into them automatically. Of course, this means if she does fight, she'll do it as brutally and as quickly as possible, to get it over with.

[Michael] Ferrothorn (M)
-Spikes
-Leech Seed
-Power Whip
-Gyro Ball
Spoiler:

Michael is really mellow and laid back. He has a perfectly serviceable sense of intuition and foresight; it's just that he doesn't particularly care to us them. It's rare that he actually outright reacts, but when he does, it's with efficiency and grace.

[Leviathan] Jellicent (M)
-Surf
-Will O' Wisp
-Recover
-Taunt
Spoiler:

Leviathan is the kind of Pokemon who thinks up crazy plans that still work anyway. He'll come up with stratagems no one expects, and therefore no one will counter. He then sees them through with a ridiculous amount of guts.

[Behemoth] Garchomp (M)
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Aqua Tail
-Dual Chop
Spoiler:

Behemoth is generally cheerful, energetic, and possessed of a good sense of humor. He's also Dr. Sullivan's most dangerous Pokemon. The sheer damage Behemoth can output combined with James's very thorough training of him makes the Garchomp an absolute horror to face in combat.

[Thessaly] Gothitelle F
-Psyshock
-Thunderbolt
-Signal Beam
-Calm Mind
Spoiler:

Thessaly is an anomaly in James's team. While she will listen to him if he gives an instruction, she is motivated almost entirely by self interest. She has some emotion for James–probably more than she'd care to admit–but she sticks around primarily because he's smart enough to be the most practical option to her. She also appears to be a denizen of dreams, originally: people don't escape her unless she wants them too.

[Aurora] Weavile (F)
-Swords Dance
-Ice Punch
-Night Slash
-Brick Break
Spoiler:

Sarcasm. Sarcasmsarcasmsarcasm. Sarcasm. Did I mention sarcasm yet? Aurora is the quintessential snarker, reveling in cheerfully pointing out everyone else's idiocy. She snidely refers to everyone as 'darling', and generally takes great fun from messing with people's brains. Of course, when business calls, Aurora is as deadly as any of James's Pokemon in combat, and extremely, maybe even fanatically, loyal to him. She considers it her job to keep Thessaly in line.

Other: Anyone who knows where James'a name comes from, to the point where they can ID his nickname, gets a full Internet cookie jar. Sabi, the name you recognize is a coincidence to an extent, but I did derive a very little bit from the person you know it from. The name that only one other person (won't say who) recognizes right off the bat, on the other hand, is exactly the character they know, albeit in a different context.
