What abandoned building should I break into today...
Oh this one looks...fun. So how should I search it. I`m thinking top down. But I don't think the stalkers would be stupid enough to hide something all the way at the top. Hmm so that means Starwatcher Skyscraper (77h) Floors 71-80 will be were I`m "searching" today. More like breaking in and entering... Hhh
You stand before the abandoned Starwatcher Skyscraper, which definitely has a reputation of being the largest abandoned building in all of Silvercoal City and is one that has fallen into disrepair because of legal issues and neglect. Many of the windows are broken while the others are stained with grime while graffiti persists all around the perimeter. As a result, this building stands in infamy and definitely doesn't paint Silvercoal City in a very pleasant image.
You head to the top floors of the building using one of the elevators. Despite the building's condition, electricity still runs through it, but the elevators definitely aren't clean. The broken tiled floors and the walls could definitely use a lot of cleaning, but that definitely won't be happening any time soon unless a very bored good Samaritan decided to show up and do it for free.
It takes a long time to get to the 71st floor, but once the elevator arrives, you head out and start your search. As you can see, most of what was here were offices and cubicles, but only the broken and degraded furniture remains. It seems that whatever company used to use this area only took what was good in a hasty rush and left the rest to rot, leaving piles of broken cubicle walls, trash, piles of broken computer equipment, and garbage bins everywhere. You have a feeling there was definitely a lot of resentment considering how the previous renters left the place disrespectfully with quite the mess to clean up.
Most of the offices have been cleaned out or are only left with junk and nothing of particular value. From floor to floor, most of the story seems to be the same. The 71st, 72nd, and the 73rd floors are wall-to-wall junk or vacant space. You can also see some Pokémon once used this area to squat, feeling no one was going to catch them using this massive empty skyscraper as a temporary home. However, it seems like even they left a while ago and left behind the remnants of their time here.
However, on the 74th floor, things seem to change a bit. You get an unsettling feeling about this particular floor as you start seeing darker signs. On this particular floor, most of the lights don't work and the only ones that do flicker in an eerie kind of way. Meanwhile, the arrangement of the broken cubicles seems like someone pushed them out of the way, and you find other things that don't belong. Sometimes a strange symbol on the wall or a leftover candle on the floor. Ordinary Pokémon might not think too much of it, but to you, it seems eerie and unnatural. You can't explain why the previous floors followed a predictable pattern, but this one does not.
When you get to one office area in particular, you come across a half-collapsed desk among piles of broken shelves and paper garbage. As you try to search through the desk drawers, one of them is broken and seems to be jammed. You take a closer look and it seems someone could either repair the lock to expose it and disassemble it, or they could pick it as is and force the drawer open that way. Normally, you would think it might not be worth the trouble, but...
...something strange seems to be inside it...
Locked container {Broken Desk Drawer: <Repair> / <Lockpick>} has been noted in the Team Records.
You try to look through the crack, but you can't see anything in the darkness. But you can hear whispers. Eerie whispers. You hear things like "battle" and "bloodshed," but the rest is incomprehensible, spidery-like speech that sends a chill in your spine. But for now, you can't do anything about it. You have a bad feeling about whatever is in that drawer, but there is also the fact that as soon as that lock is dismantled or bypassed, whatever dark thing is in there is going to slide right out in front of whoever undoes the lock whether they like it or not.
You continue your search through all of the remaining upper floors, but all you really find is more trash, broken office equipment, vacant office rooms, and what seems like the remnants of many angry companies before forced out because of legal battles. You'd hate to ask what exactly went down to cause such discontent.
Finished with your search, you head back down via the elevator and leave the building.
