I'm glad you were able to join the Discord server again!
And yes, that server is pretty quiet, unfortunately. I agree that the community isn't what it once was : many formerly active members drifted away years ago. As for me, I still try to check the forum at least once a day.
Here is what I wrote a few months ago about the forum VS Discord debate : "I also wish there could be more activity on PXR again. And I agree with your opinion about forums : I too enjoy easily looking up old threads and not feeling pressured to reply immediately. However, I think instant messaging is very convenient in some situations (such as gaming nights). Therefore, I wish forums and Discord could coexist again : in my opinion, they serve different purposes."

So am I, and it is quiet but it's good to be back and talking to people on there again, in addition to here!

I always thought forum communities could thrive beyond their original purpose if additional reasons occurred. Namely forum games, but I may be biased in thinking that! But alas, every one of us is now older and likely with far less free time than 5-10 years ago :(

I'm sticking around for now though, and I'll make posts into the void, and see what happens!

Hello, it's been a while, but I've been lurking on and off, like a lot of people have been doing I suppose. I'm going to be doing some more posting because I have some writing that I'd like to have hosted on a website less buggy than Fanfiction-dot-net and because my oldest kid is turning into a total Pokemaniac and I'll have some fun stories to share and questions to ask as a result.
Is the Discord server still a thing? I'm, like, ten years behind but I finally got a Discord.

Hello, it's been a while, but I've been lurking on and off, like a lot of people have been doing I suppose. I'm going to be doing some more posting because I have some writing that I'd like to have hosted on a website less buggy than Fanfiction-dot-net and because my oldest kid is turning into a total Pokemaniac and I'll have some fun stories to share and questions to ask as a result.
Is the Discord server still a thing? I'm, like, ten years behind but I finally got a Discord.

Welcome back! I don't have kids of my own but I do have nephews and I think it would be fun to get them into Pokemon as well. But yeah, glad to see Pokemon is still going strong through the generations.

It comes up faster than you'd think! I think right around the three mark was when my oldest caught the bug, and once the oldest is into something, the younger siblings aren't far behind. One of his baby brother's first words was "Zigzigzagoon," after all!

My kids tend to like Pokémon that are similar to the animals that they also like, so for my oldest it's Bewear and Stuffel because he is obsessed with bears, and for the next oldest boy he likes Bellybolt (who I had to look up!) because he likes frogs, and Litten because he likes kitties. The youngest is still too fresh to have a favorite, but our third boy likes "Zigzgizagoon" because he heard his oldest brother say it a lot after he got a Pokémon encyclopedia for Christmas.

Part of it is what they're exposed to, we found a DVD at the library with the Sun and Moon series finale on it, and that really got them into Alolan Pokémon. Or when I told the stories of Pokémon Colosseum and XD as bedtime story, all my oldest wanted to pretend to be during our games of tag was "Shadow Ball Lugia!"

Due to some complicated internal sad feelings which I would rather not talk about, but also the stress of life and depression a little bit.. I feel like I cannot cope being around here for much longer and so, I'm leaving for good. I won't be coming back.

So yeah, there's nothing else I'd wish to say, thanks for having me. I've made such good friends here and I thank you for helping me settle in.
