    The Uni Break To-Do List

So today I handed in my final assignment (other than my exams in two weeks), and tomorrow I will have my final class for the semester. Then I don't have class again until July 10th. 46 days of sweet freedom. My plan is to get at least one more day of work a week, but not too much that I have no free time. I have a lot I want to accomplish.

So here is the plan. I am creating a list. A list of things I want to get done between now and then. It will be separated into three categories depending on how hard the tasks are to accomplish. I will post here and keep it updated with what I have managed to achieve. So here it is.

The Desolate Divine (aka Jacob) Uni Break To-Do List
    Easy
    -Fix my car.
My car isn't in a great state at the moment. Like, it still runs, but it looks like crap and has a couple of issues that could get me in trouble with the law. As it stands it needs a service, so new oil, oil filter and air filter, new front brake pads, new front tyres, a wheel alignment, new globes for the number plate light and a brake light, and maybe a new fuel filter and O-ring for that. I am allowing $500-$600 to cover that.
    -Reach 10,000 photos.
In my scrapbook thread with my photos, I have a quote at the start about your first 10,000 photographs being terrible. As it stands, I have taken 7500 and really want to pass that. I haven't taken many photos in recent weeks outside of youth group due to lack of time. Now I can't use that as an excuse.
-Organize a night out in the city.
Fairly simple. Similar to my birthday. Get a couple of mates who're keen, find a cool bar in the city and have some laughs and good times.
-Restore my car to the way it was.
As I said, the state of my car is a joke. It used to be so nice. So what this includes is putting back in the footwell lights (I forget why I removed them), re-do the underglow lights (this time with waterproof LED strips), and re-do the boot lights (as the LED strips came down and it is now a mess.
    -Clean my rooms.
I know that sounds like it should be something I do normally, but honestly, the way things have been the last few weeks it has been so hard to find the motivation to do it, and it has built up. And I have two bedrooms so it is twice the work...

    Meh
    -Buy new light bars.
My car is the middle of the range model. It isn't complete povo-pack but it isn't the fancy model with fog lights, sun roof and seat warmers. This is good. Because instead of fog lights, it has these bits of black plastic to fill the space. I plan on buying two eight inch light bars, and cutting the plastic to fit it, and putting them in at a slight angle to light out the sides a little, as my current light bar is useless for the sides. I am estimating that project being $200-$300.
    -Powdercoat wheels.
A few years back, I covered my wheels with a spray on rubber coating to make them a pearly white colour. They looked amazing at first however due to the nature of the coating, it needed to be cleaned as soon as it had dirt. I let it get too dirty and it soaked it in so I removed it. I want that colour again but want it done properly, so will get it powder coated instead. This will set me back about $500.
    -Organize an overnight trip.
Similar to the bar thing, I'd love some sort of overnight trip. Rent a house near the beach for a night or two with some mates, or pitch tents if weather permits. A few drinks, some laughs. This will be a bit trickier, and I'd need to learn how to organize this stuff.
    -Sing at church
I'll technically do this Sunday but that's in a small group and without a mic. I'd love to be more comfortable singing and be able to sing on a Sunday.
-Master drifting in Forza Horizon 3.
I'm loving Forza Horizon 3 and wanna get better at cornering. I'm about halfway there but relying on the rewind button. My goal is to win a race using drift techniques without rewinding...

Well at least you're being optimistic!
    -Buy another car.
For about the last eighteen months, I have desperately wanted to buy an old Mazda RX7 and fix it up. I'd love to buy a rolling shell and build it from there up. A rolling shell will probably be about $2000. I never said it'd be easy in that time, but I'd at least like to make some progress with that money.
    -Have a date.
Seriously, I have had zero luck with girls in the last few years. I'd love to have a date sometime in this break. There is a girl who's on my mind at the moment, but I am not sure if I am just rebounding or not. I'll be spending a few days with her at the start of June, so I'll see how I feel about her after that.

I have other stuff I wanted to add, but it escapes me so I'll update this over the next couple of days.

    But yeah, wish me luck!

It'll be a fair while and a lot of money before the RX7 impresses any girls who don't know their stuff about cars. Like, the FC that I want looks okay to the uneducated eye, however it really looks like some junky old car. It needs some work. And I'd need to track down and rebuild a 13B turbo.

The Maxima on the other hand, with a bit of love will do the job (I hope...)

I live for night adventures in the city. You never know what type of people you'll run into and whatnot. It always makes for a fantastic time. Memorable too.

    Update:

So I am making progress. I finished my last exam today and have organized for more work which means the money stuff will be a little easier to do.

I cleaned my bedroom at my mums place over the weekend, and it was in a perfect state. Was. I'll explain soon.

I am driving about 500km this weekend for a youth camp, and wanted to make sure the car was in good nick for it. Today I fixed up the lights in the boot, and cleaned it out thoroughly. Hence why my room is a mess. All the crap in my car is now scattered all over my room. A guitar, my drone, my pedalboard, my DS and just general small stuff. So I am now in the process of cleaning my room again.

Tomorrow I will buy the parts for my car (oil, oil filter, air filter, brake pads, brake light globe, number plate light globe) and fit them, then Friday I go away. I would have liked to have replaced the tyres as well, however money... I was also hoping to have the new light bars done, but hey, they can wait.

As for the date thing, I mentioned a girl. She has been on my mind since about mid April, however I have been unsure (and still am) of whether or not I am actually interested in her, or whether I am just rebounding. Due to my history of always managing to screw things up with girls I am interested in, I am making sure to take another approach with this, and hoping it works for the best. Part of that is me making sure 100% that I am keen. The other part is me just asking her out on a date. We have been friends for years, so it isn't like I am asking out a total stranger. I will be spending this weekend with her (and a bunch of other people), so I'll see how I feel about her after that, seeing as it will have been nearly two months by that point. There is one thing I wanna do before that though.

The reason I know this girl is that she is my best friends younger sister. This friend of mine and I have had the type of friendship where we are completely open with each other, and I want to make sure she is cool with it before I ask out her sister. Even though I know I don't have to, I know that if I don't, it'll seem like I am intentionally going behind her back, since I usually make sure she is cool with smaller things that may rub her the wrong way. I don't see her having any issues with it, but still. So yeah, that's the plan hopefully. Survive the weekend, make sure my friend is cool with it, ask out her sister, and hopefully have a date sometime soon.

And lastly, the overnight trip. That is coming along smoothly. I originally looked online for houses we could rent by the beach out near Apollo Bay or something. Then I felt like an idiot when I remembered my grandma has a holiday house. The only thing with that is that my uncle currently lives there and depending on the day of the week, things are a little iffy between he and my mum. But I asked about it tonight and he is cool to! So we can go away for a few days and not pay anything for accommodation!

Well, I completed my program at the end of April and found a second part-time job in my field. However, that second job doesn't start until the fall, so its almost as if I have a uni break cx

    Things 2 do
    Go. To. The. Gym.
I noted my need for this in the "New Year's Resolution" thread, but I will add that I want to take up archery in the fall. However, before I can do that, I do need to improve my upper-arm strengh.
    Go to the anime convention
I've gone to the last several years, and always had a blast. There's no way I'm missing it!
    Pick up extra shifts
The struggle for money is real: groceries aren't cheap. And neither is the anime convention cx
    Spend some time with friends
My closest classmate-friends live out of the city, so getting to see them will be a tad trickier. But, we're a trio, and intent to stay that way, no matter the distance
    Go to a national park
In honour of Canada's 150th birthday, the government is giving away free passes to enter the national parks. I ordered my family passes in February, and it would be a waste not to use them...
    Start writing a story
I've been wanting to do this for while.
    Spend time with my bf
It's been several months since I've seen him in person, so I'm more then a little excited for his visit! We have some cool stuff planned ^^
    Practice my French
My second job will require me to speak French almost all the time, and I want the quality of my French to be better then it is now

I also would like to get involved with a community group, like a rescue or charity. My brother and I are planning on going to a neighbourhood garage sale hosted by a cat rescue, and I may ask for information on joining.
Paired with my sweet sunshine, DVB
