I managed to get the leaves done and get most of the Christmas decorations up, save for a few bush lights outside. It's been incredibly cold and windy out there, so I only did some garland and lights around the front door for now. But we've got the tree, nativity scene, and indoor decorations all up and ready to go. :3

I went all of today just drinking water for the colon prep. It's strange, I don't feel hungry, but I feel more tired. And this stuff they make you drink does have you going to the bathroom a LOT. Yeah, trying to take a quick nap and rest up has been a challenge. The prep has a lot of very specific steps at very specific times, but I've managed to keep on top of it and follow everything precisely.

Hopefully everything with the surgery goes well tomorrow. Overall I haven't been freaking out too much over it, but I get a little bit anxious thinking about it from time to time.

The surgery went pretty well! Although holy cow... surgery makes you feel 50 years older...

They did a biopsy on the piece of colon they removed and it turns out it was free of cancer, which is really good even though it does mean the surgery overall wasn't necessary. Still, there was no way of telling beforehand and this was not something I wanted to gamble with.

But yeah, I feel quite a bit of pain getting up out of bed in the morning and sitting down and up out of chairs still hurts. Looking forward to getting better and hopefully soon.

I'm glad to hear that the surgery went well and that you're cancer-free! Congratulations on doing the right thing for your health! I really hope your pain will go away soon.

Crazy to think it's been a full week since the surgery, but I'm still doing ok. A few pains here and there, but one of them is due to a catheter. I think they may have inserted it incorrectly or was pulled and as a result... OW. There's still pains lingering from that. The incision area is healing well, though. May not look pretty as a scar, but it's not a big deal. Most people will never know it's there given that area is always covered with clothing.

In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates it! I'm going to my uncle's house and while there are certain foods I'll be limited to, I can have most of the stuff. Just no corn or vegetables. Stuffing is a maybe depending on what was put into it.

Thanksgiving was pretty relaxing and nice. It was just my aunt, uncle, my dad, and myself. Enjoyed a nice dinner, watched some football, and had some fun. It was great catching up with them. Hope you enjoyed a great Thanksgiving as well!

As for the healing, it's coming along pretty well. I barely feel any pain now, even when coughing or sneezing. Hopefully these follow-up appointments with the doctors go well and they give me the green light to be able to do more.

Hi Neo, I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving because it's not a thing in Belgium.

It's great to hear that the healing process is going well and that you barely feel any pain now! I really hope you will be able to resume your usual activities soon.

And thanks! The first week was the hardest, but week #2 has been pretty good and I imagine week #3 and week #4 should be even easier. It's nice not to feel 50 years older anymore!

Also, I managed to find a nice Christmas gift for my sister-in-law. I just need to think of good ideas for everyone else. This year, I'm thinking of getting everyone nice gifts that aren't on their lists, but I might use their lists for inspiration.
