One forum I was banned from was a small forum called the Crib, but that's only because some hacker took over an admin's account and banned every member there, essentially knock-out punching the forum to death (it never recovered after that). It was a shame, because it was already small to begin with and I made a few friends there.

That happened to me too on MA when I was a moderator, lol. :| A hacker took over an admin account that was only used for testing and used it to ban all staff members and then active members. It was really scary. Fortunately, we were able to handle the situation and everything got back to normal. :)

Yeah I agree. It's why I never joined Serebii. It's also why I'm somewhat reluctant in joining new forums for fear of never being accepted.

Ha, ha, nope, I've been banned before. It's happened to everyone at least once or twice in one stupid way or another. You can't make everyone happy. And then you have some people that find the stupidest little thing offensive, such as a harmless, playful joke totally taken the wrong way.

Serebii's forum has some nice members that are actually decent and respectful people, but there are others that talk and behave like Satan's darkest and most infernal Lieutenants. And yes, some of the mods really do treat new members like they're not welcome and have no business being there and punish innocent, little mistakes to the extreme. I'm not surprised their list of currently online members seems to shrink more and more every day. That's what happens when you're brutal on your newbies. They find other, better communities!

I would RP on PokéCommunity instead, but their RP section is WAY too deep in the detail and role play formalities. Maybe I should really just try running an RP here and see where it goes just for the heck of it even if the place doesn't seem so active. No loss, really.

I've had really good luck with Bulbagarden before I found this place. They were really nice and welcoming and made me feel like I was part of the community.

Hmm, I'd say the experience I had with Bulbagarden was kind of neutral. Nothing bad, but it was a bit on the indifferent side. I think what happened there was I tried to get settled into their RP section, only to find out that posting one-liners was a usual and perfectly acceptable thing over there, which I wasn't too crazy about. And after that, I just kind of drifted out of it. Not a bad place, though.

I posted a few of my wrestling fan fics and they seemed to really like them and then I drifted to other parts of the board. They just made me feel like I wasn't a new person and even though they are a big community I was one of them instead of feeling like an outsider.

I'm mainly into roleplaying and writing, but when it comes to both I kind of want more lax rules on both. If only because I will forget to put in like the location and character name and such every time I post.

Oh you mean like my middle school? Yeah I completely understand. The rich preppy kids outnumbered the middle and lower class kids 7:1. You can only imagine the stuff we had to go through. Made some good money of the rich kids playing video games though.
