FPS for sure. Themtic genre would be something like sci-fi/sub-modern steampunk noir thriller, if that makes any sense.

Makes sense to me. In a way, and this is purely my opinion and my view, it kind of reminds me of Borderlands, except not as cartoonish.

The Sonic fandom is weird, I'm just going to say that right now. No matter what games get put out, Sega always gets a bad rap from most of their fans because of some little quirk which can make for a game which sells pretty well, but isn't the sidescrolling platformer/run-and-jump which some of the fanbase grew up on. That reasoning pretty much explains the backlash to any of the Sonic games that dared to be different.

Introduce an Action-Adventure Third Person shooter component? People hate Shadow the Hedgehog.
Introduce a brawler/hack-and-slash component? People hate Sonic Unleashed.
Introduce intense 3-D world with a lot more camera angles than before but still use core gameplay principles? People are already whining about Sonic Lost Worlds.

The Sonic fanbase is probably the hardest to serve; you're trying to sell a product that catches the 8-12 year olds who are probably buying one of their first games ever as the core demographic, which is where most of the sales come from, but you still have a large peripheral demographic of people who are diehard Sonic fans who are easily in their mid-20's to 30's by now who don't like change.

So much of this...It's so sad. Yes, you can compare it to the series as a whole, that's fine, but people seem to forget to also just look at the game as it IS, before moving on to the series. A game might fail in one area but do very well in another - Shadow's game play was very good, but compared to the series the story kind of jumbled and failed.

It's just, AUGH. People need to shut up on this. Sega is one of the few companies who actively implement things the fans want, and they get attacked for it. Be grateful the company even listens :/

Finally downloaded BioShock 2 completely, took 3-4 days. I go to launch it today and BAM! my godforsaken internal graphics card is not good enough. My processor is plenty fast, but nope, graphics card is no bueno. Doesn't make sense to me at all because I've played WoW and Skyrim on this same laptop with no problem. I'm seriously about to save up for a gaming laptop.

Ocarina of Time was seen as good.
Majora's Mask comes out. Fanbase says it's too dark and scary.
Nintendo listens, releases Wind Waker. Fanbase says it's too kiddish, they want a game more like Ocarina of Time.

I've always held A Link to the Past as the best Zelda game, I think part of the reason was this

I also felt that OoT was good, but for some reason after finishing that game Zelda games started to feel tedious, though I did reserve Wind Waker just to get Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time MasterQuest for the GC, then cancelled my reserve LOL

I'm glad for my trip to be over. Now everyone is heading for school tomorrow. I was getting ready for it for my first day back. Meanwhile I sure love to entertain myself when doing something tedious, like creating a more accurate calendar. I like listening to music while this is still going and figuring out when we'll ever have a double leap year, but not in our life time.

I watched Gerald Mc Boing Boing on Netflix and I find it to be quite funny. I haven't seen it in a while because our channel was taken out, the one it used to be on that I can't remember from 8 years ago.
