Xanthe, that is freaking fantastic! My only real complaint at the moment is that you should probably add a little dithering to the forehead to blend the colors better. :D The dithering needs to be done between the orangeish highlight color and the one(s) that precede that.

And yes, it really does take a while to produce something that is of such quality and detail. I think the hardest part is the middle, where youre trying to get all your colors situated for the piece's foundation. Then you have to tweak them so much along the way...that little bugger took a good two straight hours or so.

And look at you: you pulled that off amazingly! >w< but i think i do have one or two more nitpicks, here. Ill have to figure that out once I get back on a computerrrr

I like the head and the way you sort of transformed it into a skunk, but the rest is super messy and I can't tell what it is. xD As for what to do with a bunch of pokemon, it's always good to have a rough idea in mind of what you want to end up with, so my advice would be to create some sort of hybrid that doesn't consist of adding features on, but more mixing them. You could see it like baking something: you don't simply chuck in the ingredients all at once without doing anything to them because that won't make a cake. You need to whisk the eggs, sift the flour, stir the mix, etc. Then it creates something that's obviously all the ingredients combined. Being able to visualise that (but not restricting yourself to a narrow vision as you go) will probably help you. :]

I also think a lot of your outlines are too light and clash with other colours. xD And dat moustache. xD Hahaha.

Wait why did you post something you did years ago? xD Do you actually want critique? If so, it's an amusing fusion, but it's literally a recoloured steelix head with a few surskit legs. xD

O: Wow, Speed, thank you! xD Ah okay, that makes sense. :] I'll try that. xD

Yeah, no kidding. And because I'm not overly practiced in this sort of sprite area too. xD I mean, generally pokemon fusing or whatever takes me at least an hour or two, but this took me like...hours and hours of multiple days. XD I'm not quite sure how that's possible but it somehow is... Hahaha. Actually I could probably estimate how many hours based on how many Bones episodes I watched while doing it. XD ...Of course, then there's the question of when I started it. At least two seasons. XD That's about right.

Aw, thank you. CCC: <3 Haha, no worries. The hair, no doubt. xD But yeah, thank you so much for the critique! :D

It was simply to amuse people. You kids are all caught up in your advanced pixel arts. Sometimes all you need is a Steelix head with Surskit appendages.

What I needed was constructive criticism. xP

Anyway, updated the Miranda pixel art! 8D Took Selkie's advice and tried to shade her hair...not sure how well it worked out. I used another picture of her for a reference but I bullcrapped half of it. xD And Speed, wow, I see the difference in the forehead shading now!

    PLEASE CRITIQUE AWAY. XD

Here are progress shots I compiled:

It looks like Yvonne Strahovski. That actress from the show "Chuck"

    ...

    .. Oh wait.

I approve. I mean 3D rendering is hard enough. But to scratch a sprite of a 3D image takes time and diligence. Although the one with her eye all lopsided suddenly turned her into Michael Jackson. I'm glad you fixed that. Considering you're using a reference image, I can say I'm impressed with your ability to commit forgery. (I jest, since you clearly credited the original image.) Your next task is to scratch another image without looking at some picture as a reference. Then you will have all of the "I am the best in the world" medals you can carry.

LOL MY DAD SAID THAT TOO! He came in and he was like "...Looks like Michael Jackson gone wrong." And I was like D: Hahahhaa well if all else fails... a career in forgery it is! Anyways, thank you. <3 I'm not nearly around the level I would have to be to pull something like this off without a reference but I shall be one day! ONE DAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY

I know who she is, I know who the character is, and I have... dabbled in Mass Effect. I know she's Australian. I fell in love with Yvonne upon completing the series known as 'Chuck.' I played Morrowind, skipped Oblivion, and played Skyrim. Originally I had no desire to buy or play Skyrim. It wasn't until I was nagged by multiple people that I actually bought it. Now it has consumed my existence... Until I purchase Dark Souls II.

    @Suicune's Fire
The eye farthest from us looks a lot better now that you've edited it. Same with the forehead dithering!
However, the eyeliner on the same problematic eye is still too prominent on the bottom line of pixels, there. Use one of the nearby shades and replace that black line underneath.

    Also, see this?

see those two lines of pixels that hug each other? That is called banding and is a big pixel art no-no. It obviously was unintended, but just make sure to watch out for that! I think you were trying to anti-alias more. Maybe this would be a more effective way to do just that:

A little change can make an incredible difference!

The creases in her neck are much, much, much too prominent. You can barely see them at first glance in the actual image, so I would just go ahead and get rid of them.

Her farthest eye is still a little too aligned with her closest eye. In the reference image, you can see that there's a slightly larger difference. A bit of foreshortening. After all, her farthest eye actually appears a bit larger than the one closest to us.

The problem with the eye is really your biggest downfall, otherwise it's fantastic. You anti-aliased really well, which is something that tends to be difficult for some pixel artists to effectively execute.

Sorry this critique took so long! Oh, and by the way....upon further inspection, it seems that you have some slight banding problems below the closest eye...it's more so on the eye / cheekbone crease.

All that advice was really helpful. O: Thanks! I can't believe how much of a difference it makes. xD

    Okay...I believe...I may have ruined it... o_____o

Her eye looks too squished even though I made it bigger...I think the issue here is that I messed up the shape of her face. xD I actually sorta hate this now. I have a lot of resentment toward it and I think it's skewing my perception. XD

EDIT: What the crap? O_o Those aren't the sprite's proper colours; for some reason they change when I upload them to Sta.sh or Photobucket. D: I don't understand. Is it something to do with GraphicsGale or something?

I feel as if it looks a lot better, actually. Where do you see that the eye is squished?

Also, thats odd. Are you saving it in 8 bit color format? Who knows, it may be converting the colors so that all the rgb values are multiples of 8.

However, Ive never had this problem...maybe its the host? I know imgur is an awesome host to use. As for Photobucket, it is really good at messing things up....

If it is GG, Id say go ahead and paste it onto an ms paint canvas, save it, then open it in graphics gale and give it transparency..,without changing the color depth to 8 bit. At least thats what I do, but I guess its worth a shot! XD

But nonetheless, I did a little side by side comparison...the newest one looks a lot more refined and cleaned up, imho. Nonetheless its a beautiful piece and it really shows off ypur skills.
