    Rock-steady and ready!

I'm going to fill this [Blessed Pewter Bowl: <Empty>] with some water and give a nice blessing and all. Probably should get working on some candles after this.

Then I think I'll check out this [Red Scale] and see if that leads to anything. You never know so let's give it a go!

Oh, and if any of you want some tasty s'mores cake that I recently invented, come on over!

You decide to head over to the derelict area of Southwarren and check out the Tolbin House. The story behind this house seems tragic, and as you approach the property, you see the exact site where Melly the Furfrou was buried. Tolbin had no choice but to bury her here and make sure the same didn't happen to the rest of his family. They simply grabbed whatever they could and fled town before any other members of the family were killed by the Stalkers.

At night, the house is haunting. As you check around the exterior and search for whatever you can find in the dark, you have the feeling as though this used to be such a nice and heartwarming home, but now it almost seems corrupted. It makes you wonder if the Stalkers seem to favor locations that have been subjected to sadness and horror.

You don't find anything around the yard or around the perimeter, but something still seems wrong in that the amount of decay around this house is unnatural. Tolbin and his family were still here only weeks ago but right now, it looks like this place has been abandoned for decades. Damage on the house and the paint chipping, the wood splintering, and the metal warping and rusting seems to have accelerated beyond all logical means.

You go inside the house itself and the story is the same. With the way the walls look, the furniture looks, and the splintering floor looks, nothing makes sense. The house almost seems like it's been uninhabited for decades. The way the family photographs on the wall have aged and crumbled almost make it seem like this is a family that lived seventy years ago.

The kitchen seems to be the same way. Tiles have been dropping off the walls and in a very unnatural way, modern appliances have been caked over with dirt, dust, and age that they seem far more older than they actually are. You almost decide to check to see how things are going in the refrigerator, but you stop yourself after you put your paw on the handle. You have a pretty sure idea of what's going on inside and you figure it's not something you really want to see...

The dining room seems to be the same way. The once-exquisite table, chairs, and chandelier look like the progression of time has marched decades ahead and one chair has even fallen apart entirely. Glass pieces of the chandelier have also fallen and cracked upon the table, though you're sure this shouldn't be possible.

Upstairs, the story remains the same. Each bedroom looks like it hasn't been used in decades and the supernatural aging of the house has caused them to crumble apart. Melly's room, for some reason, looks especially corrupted. Her toys, bed, furniture, and other belongings haven't just aged, but they've crumbled to dust in most cases, and it seems like this "aging disease" has spread to other areas of the house.

You head downstairs, beginning to wonder if this is having an effect on you now. You wonder if there really is anything to find here or if everything has fallen apart far too beyond reclamation, but when you get to the metal cellar door, you find it's been slathered with rust and scratches. You try to open it, but there's no budging. It seems it's been locked.

Locked door {Rusty Cellar Door: Rusty Keyhole} has been noted in the Team Records.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there's anything else to find here for now. You decide to head out, as you wonder if this aging disease effects biological lifeforms and you haven't aged a year or two simply being here for a few hours. It doesn't seem like it, but you can't help think about it...

Tool woke up, slightly more ready for adventuring, when he heard his one weakness...
    S'mores.
He had heard wondrous things about Tashy's cooking, and admittedly he was still a tiny bit frazzled from that whole head case. Heh. Puns. Tool shook his head. He only made puns when things were going bad! He actually NEEDED that fabled S'more cake. Looks like a delicious night ahead...

Resting again, because I can almost actually taste the sweet melty dream that is S'mores in real life.

Locked doors? No problem! Years of Legend of Zelda has prepared me for this!
I'll use the [Rusty Key] on the {Rusty Cellar Door: Rusty Keyhole} at (24) The Tolbin House.

Watching from the shadows, you follow and wait for Vendy to be alone. You realize you're now a part of this secret war between Utopia and Abyss, and this is just one battle among the many that are being fought, all away from scrutiny, all away from witnesses. The truth will only be known by the few, but for good reason.

You find a good moment to strike. She heads back home through the darkness of Jekker Park, and the shadows of the trees and bushes cast the shade and silence around the two of you. No one is watching. No one is listening. The time has come and you make your move. You can do what you've come to finish and only the shadows will observe.

"I thought I heard something," Vendy turns around with a sly smile as she faces you. "You've been following me this whole night?"

"No, Vendy," you tell her. "Since I first got here I've been tracking you down. All to find out who you really are. But after tonight I won't need to follow you any longer."

She smirks a bit, acting witty and casual.

"Oh, and why's that?" Vendy asks, looking like this is some kind of chat game.

But you don't tell her anything. Instead, you decide to strike her when she's simply waiting for a response. Immediately, a white light flares out around your claws and you unleash your full exorcist power against her. Her grin grows unnaturally wider and evil, and you suddenly see the Enthraller within her reveal herself.

"YoU'Re gOIng tO haVE a VErY miSEraBlE TimE dYIng!!" she howls with dark laughter.

As if it couldn't get even darker, it does. Everything around 553590 grows even more wicked, twisted, and deranged as the dark shadows gather around her like a grim infestation of evil. The trees and the grass become distorted, unholy, gnarled, and warped. Despite these dark and unholy conjurations, you simply focus on just doing as much pain and damage to 553590 as you can. The sizzling of her unholy spirit creates a deplorably horrendous smell and causes her to shriek, and these hideous shrieks echo all throughout the park and dig into your mind like pulsating nightmare.

Julia has suffered 1 Damage to Sanity.

"YoU'RE toO lATe tO StOp Us!!" 553590 laughs.

She grows even more twisted, starting to look less and less like a Weavile and more and more like some deranged, zombifed chimera of an octopus, a scorpion, and a barnacle, all made of shadows, horror, and anguish. All throughout the battle, one arm or leg falls off to be replaced by a twisted tentacle or deranged insect appendage. But you fight on, knowing she could become a towering, hideous freak of a trillion abominations and it still wouldn't matter to you.

You focus your attention, concentrating on the mantras, unleashing as much hate-eradicating and wickedness-destroying light as you can upon her. She burns further, and soon enough, the flames are beginning to eat away at her wicked flesh and macabre appendages.

She unleashes a hurricane of hate and horror at you, taking the form of infernal, eviscerating blood claws. She enters into the fury and charges toward you as you attempt to avoid the striking nightmare.

The attack attempts to sweep down upon, but you quickly break away and avoid it as it strikes upon the grass and instantly withers away each blade of grass and shrub caught in the deathly cloud of life-killing hate. You grit your teeth and keep up the attack, but it doesn't stop her from trying to break your mind down with the vicious, infernal howling. She shrieks again and it rages throughout the park. However, you can barely see what's around you now, as if you and her are simply fighting in a void. But you don't let the horror of it all break you down.

And then, from behind, the scream returns and materializes in the form of a jagged shadow. You open your mouth in shock and it charges its way in, throwing itself into your brain and filling your head with dark, new memories of scorn, misery, and wanton violence. You can't help but scream from the sudden jolt of terror.

Julia has suffered 2 Damage to Sanity.

You feel unable to flush it out, but 553590 makes the mistake of thinking you're finished and she has you ready to be destroyed with a fresh soul harvest. Her unholy body is still burning and even one of her bladed tentacle appendages burns off, but you aren't out of it yet. You pretend to be too weak to fight and too mind-ravaged to continue the exorcism, but then you focus the concentration of the holy burning on her unprotected eyes, and they immediately burst as the amplified, adrenaline-fueled attack on her continues.

She screams as she becomes blinded, and her appendages sweep and attempt to slam into everything randomly, trying whatever she can to strike you down. The screaming is almost too much to continue enduring, but you strike her there as well, burning her throat with the exorcism fire until suddenly her mouth can no longer contain the white fire within and then her head detonates and causes a chain reaction of burning, holy flames to explode throughout her body. Her unholy appendages burst into pieces as they are consumed with exorcism embers, and her horrid black blood is scattered before being dried up and evaporated by the brilliant flames. There is only white fire as 553590, the Enthraller once known as OBSESS, is eradicated forever into oblivion, where Abyss can't even recover the essence of this total spiritual destruction. Suddenly the shadows surrounding the park are dispelled, scattered, and destroyed. Jekker Park returns to normal, where even despite the night hours, the area around you seems even just a bit brighter than how it was before.

All that's left in the wake of 553590's complete destruction is the salvaged soul of Vendy the Weavile, overwhelmed, shaken, and still trying to get a grip on the reality of what she faced. She now glows with a serene, ghostly light, but nonetheless, she is no longer under the torment of the Enthraller.

"You..." Vendy gasps, shocked but relieved. "I don't know how, but trust me, I'll find a way... some way to repay you for this! Trust me, I... I had no control over that!"

She is soon lifted up and begins her ascension, but before her soul is carried away into salvation, she calls out to you one last time.

"Thank you for everything!" Vendy shouts to you. "Keep up the fight! You guys can do it!!"

And then, just seconds later, she rises up into the night sky and soon her light can no longer be seen from your position. For now, there is silence, but you smile despite how your mind still works to endure the mental trauma that you just faced. A suddenly calming wind blows through the park, and it seems for now, there is peace, restoration, and it truly begins to feel the Enthrallers are losing their grip over Southwarren.

    CONGRATULATIONS!
The Stalker "553590" has been eliminated. Southwarren has become slightly safer.

You continue to work through the last remaining Stalker items that have curses and foul presences lurking within them. As you come across the Insignia of Blood, you realize this is going to be a bit trickier, as the source of the sanity-consuming presences isn't so easily recognized within the unholy symbol.

At first, all it seems is like a mere coin with a very dark, blood-red insignia. You're not quite sure how to disarm it without totally covering it, which might recent it incapable of working as you realize that it depends on the symbol being visible to function. You at least quickly realize it only works with physical contact, and the only thing looking at it does is just give you a bit of an unnerving feeling.

Though it sounds almost silly, you find the best way to nullify its effects is to put it into a metal circular case and cover it with glue. After waiting a few hours, it dries clear, but as you release it from the metal casing and now it's simply a coin with a clear, plastic-like coating that makes it safe to touch, but doesn't compromise its functionality.

The #Infernal Presence# (1 Sanity Damage) trap on the [Insignia of Blood] has been removed.

Though you're still not sure what this is actually used for, you at least feel satisfied that when the rest of the team finds a use for it, they'll be able to deploy it safely.

Tashy puts on some relaxing and chill music while she fills the Blessed Pewter Bowl with regular tap water and then prepares to use her Seinaru power to bless it and make it holy. It takes her about an hour of light, whispered chanting and casting of glowing light as the water goes from being clear to become pure with a serene, glowing effect.

[Blessed Pewter Bowl: <Empty>] has become [Blessed Pewter Bowl: <Holy Water>]

With her extra time, she then works through the [Red Scale] and screens it using her Seinaru as well. She works on it for about an hour as the scale glows brightly the whole time, but even after doing her best to see if there's anything to detect, it just comes up as normal with no Stalker essence.

Pokémon Sample [Red Scale] does NOT belong to a Stalker. It has been removed from the Team Inventory.

You decide it's best to use tonight to get in the badly-needed sleep you want. The night is calm tonight and you know you'll be able to finally flush out and fully purge the creepy thoughts and sensations still going on in your mind. They don't bother you as much as they did earlier, but you want to be fully ready for anything when you get back out there tomorrow morning.

You climb back into bed, get comfortable on your side, and pull the bed sheets up to your chin. You close your eyes and you find it easy to allow yourself to be drifted away toward peaceful, relaxing, and mind-rejuvenating sleep.

Rusty O'Toole has recovered 1 Point of Sanity.

You'll be fully ready tomorrow morning and you look forward to getting back out there to make Southwarren a safer place, free of Stalkers.
