It's a tough, tough choice. But I would absolutely love to have the ability to fly, so I wouldn't be against being some type of bird.

Probably a crow, it's a bird (cliche maybe?) so it's free roaming in a way that I can't be but they are also very intelligent and interesting animals. Not some grimdark city crow thing, more like an intelligent hardy bird of a forest somewhere.

If I adopt the intelligence of the animal in question? Human. Not even a question: every single advantage other animals have just pales in comparison to human intelligence.

If I maintain human intelligence regardless? Tiger.

Barn owl! One of my favourite animals. plus I get to fly. :3

A toucan. They're close enough to Toucannon. Flight is a problem for toucans though because they lack the ability to fly competently, so that raises some problems.
