I think it depends on how severe the storm is. See, where I live, storms happen every afternoon starting the first week of June until mid to late August. Every afternoon without fail. So I have grown adjusted to storms that happen in the afternoon, last for ten minutes at the most, and all they do is thunder a little and bring down large amounts of rain, then they're gone. If they are not like this, however, I am terrified of them. I have no idea why but if it happens in the morning or at night, last longer than ten minutes, thunders or lightning a loudly and a lot, and practically floods the place I'm terrified of it. The perfect example happened this week. I apparently lived through a F-1 tornado without realizing it. I had been sitting on the couch, relaxing since I had been throwing up all day, when the usual storm hits. I'm about the fall asleep when I notice that the rain on the sky lights of my room don't sound quite normal. It sounded like bullets were hitting the skylights and it never sounds like that, not even when it's hailing. Then, there was a blinding flash of light that was almost instantly followed by a loud crack of thunder that shook the house. My dad says he's never seen me get off the couch so fast. I pretty much had a complete panic attack because you couldn't see outside it was raining so hard, alarms were going off around the house, thunder was shaking the whole place, and glass was cracking (I couldn't see that but you could hear it) from the hail. It lasted about an hour. So, we ended up with many toppled trees in the backyard (none of which hit the house by some miracle), a cracked skylight (that was the cracking glass we hurt, it got hit was hail the size of a baseball), and floodage in part of our basement.

My dog is also very scared of storms and usually it helps me stay calm if I comfort her. If I'm not home when she freaks out she usually runs to my room and hides under the covers of my bed.

It's been really bad here and so far where I live we haven't gotten anything....yet. I know where my sister and cousin live they both had tornado warnings and I've been texting them to see if they are all right and they are. I've been watching the radar like a hawk and when they started talking about tornado warnings I start losing my mind and freaking out. I get really, really bad and start having like a panic attack. I'm hoping I get lucky and don't have to put up with nothing tonight.

I'm actually going through one right now. The storms have been pretty bad this year but this is the hottest summer I think we've had in a long time so it's only natural.

If I am at home, I love them (Until the power goes out). If I am driving, I don't. Especially when there are lots of cars but no street lights (as I have bad night vision, but I can't use my high beams if anyone is in front of me). That is terrifying.

I hate them the most at night because you can't see anything that's coming and just have to go by what the weatherman says on TV.

To be honest, anytime it's raining I prefer it to be storming. Thunderstorms always are exciting and invigorating to me. I love watching lightning and will sit out on my front porch for minutes on end just staring out at the sideways-blowing rain, the trees leaning over, and the occasional or frequent flashes of light in the sky and maybe even the occasional bolt of lightning

And it sounds sad, but tornado warnings / watches are also really exciting for me. Not GOOD exciting, but like, I don't know. There's just something about tornadoes that is fascinating to me. We had several experiences where it got really bad at our house, but thanks to our geography it seems that nothing has ever actually gotten within a mile of us. I had a bad experience with bad tornado weather a few years ago on my way home from dinner; EAS alerts were on the radio like crazy and I was freaking out because all the locations listed were ALL places that were right by us! And by that I mean like 10-ish minutes away. But it was still scary. And while all this was happening we were on the road. Funny thing is, though, it was really bad on the way home but when we got over the hill that we live on (on the other side of it kinda) it was totally calm. Pretty much untouched. And no, it wasn't the "calm before the storm." It was like it completely avoided our house. Needless to say there were no notable tornadoes in the area except maybe for an EF-0. Buuuuut...those don't really do much at all.

I also had another experience more recent than that one. This wasn't a close encounter, but it was still frightening.
I had just gotten back from my evening classes. It was cloudy and foreboding outside yet still pretty peaceful, so I sat on my bed writing some essay with my window open.

I suddenly heard wailing in the distance: sirens. It was quiet since we don't really live nearby any sirens or anything, but just loud enough to hear. I cannot describe the feeling of panic that settled over me at this time. I was home by myself. Fortunately mom got home five minutes later but you can BET that I hauled *** to our basement, laptop in hand.

It literally just started raining here hahah. And even at that it's coming down in spots. I hate how irregular weather here can get sometimes

    And it stopped

Oh look there it is again. Is that hail?

    And...quietens down again

Pretty much my thoughts. xD Sleeping while storms are occurring is awesome. c: I don't much like it when there's tonnes of wind, though, because sometimes tree branches can blow off. :c Scawy!

UGH, YES, WHEN HAIL QUIETENS DOWN. It's like, "traitor!!!"

I love rain and I love storms. Good loud thunder is hard to come by around where I live, it's normally pretty tame. Though, we get a lot of tornadoes for being so close to mountains! They never get close enough to where I live that I'm not really scared of tornadoes ever being an impact to me.

Snow however, is hit or miss. It's either the beginning of the season and I'm wanting it to snow or it's the end of the season and I want it all to burn.
