Amy frowned hard at Dash's response. She was not paranoid. Suspicious, yes, but not paranoid. Paranoia meant she was afraid and Amy was anything but afraid. Yet, before Amy had the chance to snarl back at this Dash character, he vanished. A hologram. Of course. Even more grounds to not trust him. He wasn't even there to meet his esteemed guests in the first place. And yet, no one else seemed suspicious of his motives. They were all just unboxing their news toys like children on Christmas! For a second, Amy felt infuriated, followed quickly by a sense of defeat. Were they really not all that concerned? Perhaps she actually was paranoid.

Letting out a long heavy sigh, Amy switched her X-Transceiver to her right wrist and put the new poketch on her left wrist. Fine. She'd accept her fate then. Following the others, she headed upstairs to the battle simulator.

This was an offer to good to pass up Renny thought. The arrangement meant he could focus on his thing without being bogged down by deadlines. The other way clearly wouldn't have worked for him. After thanking Hugo he headed down and decided to cash in his first check and picked up the equipment that Hugo suggested. He also used the money to get a more updated laptop for editing. After that with a slight smile on his face, he headed back out into the city.
"We should probably get food. After that maybe we should go to the pokemon center." He said to Arnny.

"Or we can just leave. We have what we need right here. Though it would help to have a better way to find Mespret." He sighed

"Ursa," Arnny said putting her foot down.

"Teddi URSAA!" she said letting him know they couldn't just go off on their own.

Renny could tell she liked the other trainers. He wasn't exactly sure why but maybe Arnny had figured something out he hadn't. To him, all he took from his last experience with him was that he was unwanted to the point of being framed.

"I respect your word. Though I wonder what the benefit would be in surrounding yourself with people who clearly do not want you around. I am trying to way the pros and cons to being part of that environment." He explained

    Teddiursa cuddled up to him.
"Ursa Ursa Teddi Teddiursa!" She said with a smile

" Yeah I know as it stands we can't do it on our own and I realize that we said we would do this until the point that the trainers choose a path that away from possibly being part of some once in a lifetime event. Something that can help explain this mess." Renny said

"So to the Pokemon Center, but you only get one of these. Next time we're told to leave we aren't going to give them another chance. Though I can say this is the most productive getting kicked out of a place has ever been." He continued

Renny and his team headed through town to the pokemon center. Once there it was time to train his pokemon together.

When Amy arrived on the 5th floor. She could see the nice waiting room but none of the others were in sight. The young receptionist smiled as she approached.
" Welcome! You're are the fourth guest so far. You are free to use that keycard to enter any of the battling simulator rooms that are open. Once inside you can select any pokemon from the world dex to battle with. Then you select the difficulty of your opponent. There are other functions you can change for personal preference. At any time you can stop the simulation by hitting the red button on the control panel. Also, Mr. Davis told me to let you know personally that the simulator could chart battling stats and styles that you could use to help understand."

Amy was now free to pick and open room and get started

Sophie had come so close to defeating a legendary pokemon which seemed like more of a disappointing to her. As she prepared to leave something odd happened. The steel door all of sudden locked on its own. The soundproof room made it hard for others to hear her if she called for help. The room began to shut down until only a red emergancy light flashed just above the door. Not long after the room shut down something strange happened. In the opposite corner of the room, she heard the sound of the door slide open. The flashing lights made it hard for her to see too clearly but she could sense that she wasn't alone. Something was with her and it was moving closer to her. In the flash of the red, she could see the light was being reflected off of the creature

It paced around just out of her line of sight. Its claws tapped the metal floor as it moved closer and closer. Then without warning the creature leaped towards Sophie forcing her to jump back. It let out a loud growl dropping back as if it was going to attack her again. This time however she had nowhere to run.

Amy listened quietly as the woman spoke. She nodded her head along and offered a small smile, though there was no feeling behind it. "Thank you ma'am," she answered. Heading into one of the empty rooms, Amy began to set up her team. She spent a few minutes thinking on it, before deciding on a team. She ended up selecting a Mega Glalie, Froslass, Alolan Ninetales, Aromatisse, Chandelure, and Oricorio-Sensei.

She set the difficult to fairly hard, wanting to give herself a bit of a challenge.

As the Pokemon appeared, I considered letting out one of my own but quickly stopped. This Pokemon seemed too tough for any of my Pokemon, and I wasn't going to have them fight a battle where they were probably going to be killed in order to protect me. I had to do this on my own.

When it leapt forward I jumped back and it continued to growl. Something was wrong with this Pokemon. A Pokemon doesn't usually act like this unless it is frightened, being commanded to, or is just aggressively natured. However, if any of those three things were true, it wouldn't have held back just then. It wouldn't be standing there growling. It would have attacked me, and probably killed me by now.

As the red security light flashed, I caught a glimpse of inside the helmet, and saw its eyes. The eyes of someone with nothing to live for, but not in a desperate way. More in a sad accepting way. This Pokemon had no sense of purpose, which made it angry, was acting out because of it.

"I mean you no harm." I said cautiously, "I am not here to hurt you."

"But you know that, don't you?" I asked, "And I know that you know that. So here is how this is going to go down."

Using every bit of courage I had I stepped forward, causing the growling to become louder, however the Pokemon didn't move.

"You are going to stand down!" I said, borderline shouting, "Because you have no reason to be intimated or threatened by me, and you WILL show me respect enough to not do the same to me!"

The growling stopped, as the Pokemon looked up at me, now more curious than anything.

"Are we clear?" I asked, slowly reaching out a hand. The Pokemon seemed to flinch at it, however recovered when I started patting it around the collar. Whilst it didn't show any signs of enjoying the attention like a normal Pokemon, I get the feeling that it was intentionally trying to hide that from me.

(I used a random number generator to spit out any pokemon, the official GCEA sinnoh dex to decide if the pokemon was valid, and evolved them.)

Tony headed into an empty room and instead of choosing his team, he decided to see what he could do if given a random team of fully evolved pokemon found in Sinnoh. The computer spit out a string of numbers, displaying the pokemon associated with them, at which point Tony selected evolved forms of any that needed evolved. His final team was Chimecho, Rotom, Gardevoir, Mantine, Togekiss, and Sudowoodo. He then turned the difficulty up to where he felt it would probably be an uphill battle.

    @Noblejanobii

Amy carefully selected her team on the computers dashboard and then selected a difficulty that was beatable but would be extremely tough. The computer took a moment to anaylize her team. The the left of the computer dashboard a panel in the wall opened and a tray with 6 pokeballs came out. The balls had the images of the pokemon on them for the trainer. Soon after the battle started. Amy watched as the room changed to match the typing of her team. She now found the simulator transformed the area into a dark snowy peak with flames lighting the battle field.

Sophie had come face to face with a Type: Null. A pokemon is so rare that most had no idea something as it existed. The pokemon information didn't even show up on a normal Pokedex. This creature was strange to say the least. Right after it calmed down the lights turned back on and the door unlocked and opened. On the other side stood Dash in the flesh.

    Dash walked into the room.
    "Enigma come here." He commanded

    Null walked over

" Are you okay Miss Reed?" He said watching for her reaction.

Tony input selected a randomized team. Soon after a tray to the left of the control panel opened with his six pokeballs. Each pokeball had the image of the digital pokemon inside. A moment later the room started to trasnform into a battling field that was covered in rocks.

Ignoring Dash's question, I responded with my own.

"What is that?" I asked, shakily, "And why was it in the battle simulation room?"

I thought for a moment, then realized something. Matthias was given the choice of which room to go to. I was instructed to come here...

"And why the hell did you send me specifically here?" I asked, slightly angrily, "Matthias wasn't told to go to a certain room and I was. Hell, I saw you, or that hologram thing, giving me second glances back in the dining room. Do you have some bone to pick with me? And how do you know my name?"

Tony looked at all 9 pokemon involved in his battle. He knew none of the enemy pokemon, and only two of his own. Rather than look up any of the pokemon, however, he decided to see how well he could improvise with the bare minimum information. He started with the opponent with the most obvious typing, Durant. Clearly a bug/steel. Bug is strong to psychic, so that takes out the two pokemon he knows. Sudowoodo appeared to be a grass-type, also not a good match-up for the bug pokemon. That left the flying-type Togekiss, the electric-type Rotom, and the... water-type? Mantine. The choice was clear, flying beat bug. He sent in Togekiss and told it to use Air Slash. The pokemon did massive damage to the durant, but was swiftly knocked out by an Iron Head attack.

Tony paused thought for a moment before sending in Mantine. Tony saw that Air Slash was also available to Mantine and instructed for that move to be used. As Mantine did so, the durant managed to get off an attack, but it was merely a scratch.

The next pokemon up was Houndour, which appeared to be a dark-type. Again, not a good matchup for the two pokemon he knew, nor for Sudowoodo. Since Mantine was already out, Tony stuck with it. The Houndour sent out a torrent of flame and Tony realized it was a fire-type as well. He got lucky that he chose Mantine for this battle. He instructed the pokemon to use waterpulse, but it didn't knock out the houndour who rushed in with a powerful Crunch attack. It was on its last legs but it took out the Mantine.

Ok, so, Tony's choices were Sudowoodo, a grass-type, Gardevoir or Chimecho, psychic-types, or Rotom, an electric-type. Rotom appeared to be the only one without a type disadvantage, so Tony chose it. However, Tony realized his mistake when the Houndour used Crunch and it dealt a massive blow to the electric pokemon. It must have a secondary type Tony didn't realize that gave it a disadvantage. Then he saw it in the moves, multiple ghost-type attacks. That must be it. Tony decided to keep Rotom in and had it use discharge, finishing off the Houndour. Now all that was left was the behemoth.

Tony kept Rotom in, but it was instantly crushed by a rockslide caused by the monster before it, doing next to no damage to the beast. So, it's a rock type, a grass-type should do it. He then sent in Sudowoodo, then was shocked by what he saw. There were no grass moves, they were all rock, except for one fighting move. Tony had made a grave mistake. He told the Sudowoodo to use Hammer Arm, and it did some decent damage, but not enough, the apparently not-grass pokemon getting brought down by an earthquake attack.

Tony had two pokemon left. A chimecho and a gardevoir, neither of which had any notable advantages or disadvantages over rock-type. So, Tony sent in what he believed to be the more powerful of the two pokemon, Gardevoir. Almost instantly, the gardevoir took a massive blow from a crunch attack. Tony decided to use Draining kiss to try to prolong the battle, doing much more damage than he thought it should've done, right before the Tyranitar finished off the Gardevoir with a second Crunch. That left one pokemon to finish off the battle, and he wasn't sure if it was strong enough.

Tony sent in Chimecho to battle. The giant once again dealt a massive blow with a crunch, but then Tony noticed an attack this chimecho had equipped. Grass Knot. Strong type-wise and strong against large opponents. As soon as the psychic pokemon recovered, he had it use that attack. It was a close battle, the chimecho close to fainting, but it made it through.

After the battle, Tony looked at each of the pokemon to see how much was luck, and how much was skill. As it turns out, it was mostly luck, but he did have a few moments where he had thought things through and it paid off. What shocked him most though was how each of his pokemon, bar one, had a natural type weakness to the goliath that was... Mega Tyranitar, and only two had a natural type advantage, neither of which were the one that had no weaknesses. He won by luck of the draw and lucky choices. It was a win, but not one he could really be proud of, he couldn't always rely on luck.

Matthias sat in his simulator, pleased at the unlikely win he had pulled off. It had looked impossible to beat hyperpowered Electric Dog thing.

Before he could relax however a message appeared on the screen.

The giant electric Dog thingee howled in victory.

That had been way harder than he had expected.

He examined the difficulty settings where he had entered "Hard... but not real hard, like challenge me, but don't make it super difficult." and saw that the system had highlighted certain parts of the description he had entered. The words "Hard" "Real hard" "Challenge me" and "Super difficult" were flashing in red.

"OH.... My bad!" He said realising his mistake.

He was left in the simulator with the victorious Giant electric dog, which was looking at him and snarling.

"Ummm nice doggy. Can I come out now! Anybody?"

(Those of you who have not battled yet, remove the Eviolite from the opponent, Brettles and I both made that same mistake because the eviolite was on when we downloaded the calculator.)

As Tony was about to leave, alarms began sounding. An announcement occured telling him that Eviolite had been present on every enemy pokemon in the battle when none was supposed to be present at all, and the battle restarted at square one. Now that Tony knew what types every pokemon was, he decided to do it smarter.

First off, he used Sudowoodo to battle the Houndour, finishing off the opponent quickly, but taking a good chunk of damage as well.

Second, he sent out Mantine to battle the Durant, removing the weakness the Togekiss had while retaining the advantage. Mantine was lowered to critical health at this point.

Finally came the battle with the Mega Tyranitar. Tony sent in, in order, Mantine, Gardevoir, Togekiss, and Rotom.
