They could either work together or have some sort of competition between them, even though Menora's smithing is more of a hobby and she mainly works on her own equipment or pieces for close comrades.

Well, His work in the blacksmith shop is only part-time, as is his thieves guild activity. Recalling that he wants to go out and travel. Then possibly return to take over as Jarl. These are just ideas that I've had going in. As you've said, ideas tend to change. Right now I have to ask, who is the Jarl from the start? Is it Maven or Laila? Also, I was always under the impression that the greatest of Blacksmiths was Eorlund Gray-Mane. That's why I chose to train Vorgu under him. So your character could either stand to learn something from Vorgu (if he knows more than Menora, because his smithing skill for me takes a bit of precedence over all things. So if there was a level 100 skill he had, it'd be smithing), and become friendly with him. Or you can see him as a rival, and constantly challenge your character to be better than him.

I honestly haven't decided. I mean if anyone would actually take on the role of Aela, I wouldn't mind pursuing some sort of romantic thing, but if she were to stay NPC, I would most likely stick to shield brother as a whole. Also, I don't know how I feel about the two Dovahkiin being in the thieves guild, or associate with each other. Because I just feel like a better story or twist would come of two very different people becoming the Dovahkiin. Like, a warrior type and a thief type. Or a mage. You know? Two different people, lifestyles, and beliefs both sharing a common destiny to kill giant winged lizards and save Skyrim.

Some things I'm not allowed to say yet since they're for future plans. As for the Thieves Guild, I just brought up an idea. I was wanting the other players to bring up their own. My ideas are not final. But there is one thing about what you said I have to put my foot down on. Brynjolf is not allowed to know about the Nightingales. To him they're just a myth, a story told in the Guild. I'm keeping that cannon. He won't know until he becomes one himself. I am open to change things from the game, but some things must stay canon and that is one thing I will not budge on. As for the house, you're allowed to live wherever you want since you're the only Thane of the Rift. I gave the title up. My character who lives in Riften stays at either the Blacksmith's since she grew up there or with the Guild.
And so Brynolf won't know about Vorgu being a Nightingale. Also in that sense, Vorgu will conceal his identity around Mercer as best he can, or just avoid Mercer entirely. I pointed out that Nocturnal may have pointed out to the other Nightingales that Vorgu is a Nightingale, because she can do that. I guess that Vorgu can be made to seek out Eclipse and Karliah. Or encounter them when he leaves on his travels.
