As for the RPG...We'd pick up a little after where we left off, for sake of sanity and keeping progress, and I'd get you up to speed. Arnold will have...Calmed down at that point, that means. That fight, PS, was more to teach you to NOT screw with Elder Souls and expect victory. Period.

No, Arnold was not particularly standout in strength among the Elder Souls. Or at least not the ones that cause massive energy spikes all on their own.
