I would have picked up on it. Your chunk of reality doesn't have Blackout zones, and even then an Elder soul's energy signature is quite...Distinct. No worries. Yet.
Are there any dungeons of note? Anything particularly big to murder? We don't have to go there RIGHT NOW, we can plan out our dungeon-runs and the like, but...
