A large globule of mercury floats across the field, slightly vibrating as though it was alive and waiting for a command.

The Codex Hydrargyrum ignores Voltaire. It sends out its network of mercury fibrils, that bore through the earth, resurfacing right outside QUAKE's barrier and proceeds to lash at it.

*Unfortunately, the barrier appears to be too close for the mercury tentacles to get into-practically skintight...Unless the mercury can bore through flesh. In which case, you've got a win, though you'll need to be careful not to KILL QUAKE. Just KO him.*

Tazz: WHY AM I PICKING UP AGGRO?!?! *Much dodging ensures.*

"Oh? So I just infiltrate it huh?"

"Cloak, and Scalp!" The mercury bores through the barrier and a tentacular extension flows inwards, finding its mark on the back of QUAKE. Its shape changes into that of a paper-thin scalpel and in one swift move, it forms a feet-long linear wound along QUAKE's lower portion of his neck, enough to faint him.

*though I told you to do that, that you did it while he WASN'T bum-rushing deserves at least a 1.1x EXP multiplier. So good on you.*

*QUAKE's barrier breaks from the wound and he falls to the floor, unconscious...VICTORY!*

*QUAKE does not drop L00T, but the GIANT LOBSTER-WIELDING TITAN LOBSTER's L00T is scattered about as compensation. However, the Force recreates the island above and shoves the L00T above as well. IN addition, you get EXP from BOTH foes-one an ELDER SOUL, the other a RAID BOSS.*

*TAZZ, SIVELOS, ECRIVAIN, AND VOLATILE! YOU get a CLASS UP! ALL of you, yes! OK, VOLATILE gets 5 from dealing with such a ridiculous foe at level 1, Class 1. The rest of you, being higher-level and class, get just 1.*

Uh... Is he... Are we sure he won't attack us? Oh, never mind. I choose the higher tier of Magic Inquisitor, whatever that is. But anyway, we need to get this guy some rest, food, and water, so he won't go bum-rush us again.
