I like the idea of combinable items in such a large-scale game, but I think it flew over -- I'll speak for myself -- my head. There's a lot of hidden stuff that's not in the (already expansive) rules section. [Edit: Also, maybe Gem dust for Gems should stay special and separate? I dunno! I'd still need to know how to combine dustB.]
I'm down to dump items and Splinters into team inventory. I intended to do that next phase anyway -- not like I can do much with only 23 of 'em!
Regarding learned abilities! It doesn't feel "right" right off the bat, but I can't think of a reason why they shouldn't be free-action to learn.
