Okay, word of advice before you make a deadly mistake...
I strongly recommend not doing this. These are some crazy, critical things you're tossing away (good god, do not throw that rainbow gem away, the $350SP$ does not justify doing that). You guys already have loads of money and you're burning tremendous amounts of it on Adrenaline Orbs for non-critical actions that can easily afford to wait a few cycles (really guys, this is not the best way to use the money). Instead of doing that, use the money on Forging weapons and armor. And if you like Enigma Berries, look into making some Chain Mail or Plate Mail. That makes that effect permanent! Plate Mail has 3 Def to it. You could have gotten the blueprints for that already in place of getting an Adrenaline Orb! And if you use the mats you have, buy the mats you don't, and just make a few sets of those and pass them around, you'd be saving a lot of lives, mate.
Guys, this is a wake up call, you've got to Forge Equipment A.S.A.P.. I cannot stress this enough. Sure, passing around the Obsidian Dagger worked around for a little while when you could pick your fights whenever you wanted, but now everyone needs something, be it a weapon or armor. Look at how many times that one Obsidian Dagger has made the difference in those earlier fights. But even something basic can make the difference between life and death, and it's better than nothing. The gem slots and the gems themselves will give you stat buffs. And sure, I'll admit that what happened to Madder, Brass, and Yris has some serious bad luck involved, but it could have all been prevented if all three of them had some nice equipment. Titanium Ore at $60 SP$ is ludicrously cheap for the amazing things you can do with it once you get those blueprints.
I second the need to revive, rescue, and get GOOD gear (and destroy that Phylactary ASAP)--these guys aren't messing around!
Everyone has a dream that fills their heart. A journey they must take. A destiny to fulfill. As close as your imagination exists a magical place, where wondrous creatures with incredible powers help make dreams come true. It's the world of Pokemon!!"
@Noblejanobii and @ShadowBolt25 if you're discussing whether the followers of the abyss are specifically chosen to have some kind of advantage or resistance to the pokemon they're trying to capture/kill, why not ask that in the ask thread! Admittedly, all the battles so far do not seem to be in the emissaries favour- but part of that is the ability to inflict sanity or purity damage on a hit (even if the hit isnt doing much physical damage).
On the topic of selling gems, I know that @Neo Emolga is strongly advising I dont sell gems- but arnisd has already scavenged us up a couple more. Gems aren't in short supply, really.
The main thing that makes me think they're not as useful is the energy and action time it takes to make them into useful objects. Breaking it down;
--Firstly, we have to buy blueprints for something we want, with a gem slot. ((Nobody seems keen to look that stuff up, and we have been confused about the forge rules at least twice in this game so far, which causes us to lose precious action time.))
--Then, we have to convince someone with forge to essentially give up their action in order to make a SINGLE EQUIPMENT ITEM. ((Yes, only one piece of equipment at a time. We cant go on a spree. If our two living current forgers used all their turns only forging equipment, it would still be 8 action cycles- four days, four deaths, until each emissary had something to wear or use. We cant waste time like that! Pokemon are out there dying!))
--Then, that single item, which at best gives what, a -3 to physical damage? And could make supereffective attacks normal effectiveness (as with the rainbow gem Neo doesnt want me to sell) is STILL NOT ENOUGH.
Why? Because even if you take no physical damage from a hit, you'll be taking sanity and purity damage. You literally need to be covered in one way or another from ALL types of damage- and not a single piece of equipment, even with a gem in it, can do that.
That is my logic in not asking anyone to make armor yet, and not sending Lillian to do it either. Eating a berry is a free action, covers you against all damage types for two turns, and only costs $100sp. How many more turns will this game have? Does anyone really want to use up all their time staying at home making equipment, or do you want to get out there and get the ritual underway?
I know what I choose!
But, of course, if someone IS planning to make equipment, let me know so I dont sell out the materials from underneath you. I respect if people want to do it, but I think berries are quicker, cheaper, and more effective.
Still, Shadowbolt has a point. We're taking three different types of damage in these fights while we're only dealing health damage, we can't afford a debuff to our attacks even if it is just random chance. I'd like to propose that everything we do from now on that could put a stalker's target on us we do in pairs, preferably with someone who can help cover typing weaknesses. Searching places and talking with townsfolk and so on. Forging weapons I'm very much on board with, (so I'd like not to sell our stuff) but we shouldn't assume it'll be enough to protect us. Yris was winning the fight in terms of health after all but still died to the purity hits.
First priority is rescuing/reviving. Its going to take 7 of use to get both rescues off, assuming Old lace is leading one of them. we need to reach 100% for both since Yris is the needing reviving and can't contribute with their R/E ability. another person with Seinaru will be taking care of Yris so that's 8 of us in total.
That's a pretty large number of us, while I was going to talk to Willow this round (preferably with Truly's Escort/protect help) I think getting these rescues off is a priority so if you need me to join in let me know.
Great planning! Im 100% in favour of weapons forging- the sooner the battle ends, the better.
In terms of doing a rescue, how does this sound;
SAVING MADDER
- Buzzswole +50%
- Morzones character(dang it what's his name again?) learns and uses rescue +50%
= 100% (both eat enigma berries)
SAVING ARNISD
- Lillian learns and uses rescue +50%
- Carly learns and uses rescue +50%
= 100% (and a handful of berries to heal Carly, and one enigma berry)
REVIVING YRIS
- LKWayverns seinaru umbreon
- Arrow jolteon tags along for support?
Meanwhile, shadowbolt forges a weapon and compresses some gem dusts into gems staying safe at home.
Lita and Truly go together to do some ritual process/tell Willow about drugs?
@Lychee i can forge a weapon and compress some gem dusts into gems while staying safe at home, unless I'm needed for a rescue mission ( to rescue one of our team members ) or help to re-incarnate our fallen team-mate
@Lychee Like Neo said it's random, as I suspected. I don't think all the battles are going to be as bad as those three given Neo keeps stating it was some extremely bad luck. That said, I agree we need to be more prepared in the future. Given how much Neo is pushing using equipment, while it might seem like a waste of time now, I think he's giving us that heads up for a reason. If Madder wasn't captured I could take it on but as it stands we're down three men because we didn't take the time to prep armor or weapons in the past.
I strongly disagree about holding off on Willow's task though. You can hold off on rescuing one of us for a cycle but Willow's quest expires at the end of the night cycle and this is our only opportunity to potentially get both utopian items. You could potentially break up the rescues across two cycles anyway to help spread around the man power as well. But I really think Willow's quest is important given EmeraldSky's clairvoyance pointed us to it. If you're insistent on doing both next turn, then at least spare me some berries so I can turn the quest in as my action that Neo said I'll get regardless of the timer expiring since I really think it's important.
