    Excellent.

And one last thing to everyone: I'm kinda getting annoyed at all the duplicate powers. Even powers that have similar functions should have different mechanisms. In fact, I strongly suggest that if I haven't accepted you yet and you duplicated a power someone else has, you should definitely modify it so that it's different: if not in what it accomplishes, then in how it accomplishes it. I'm very liable to not accept duplicates.

Going to post my first character, I have a second character connected to this guy, but I don't have too much time between homework to work on him today.

    Jack "Jackson" DeHanes
    Spoiler:
Name: Jack Alexander DeHanes (endearingly called Jackson on occasion)

    Age: 28

    Side:
    Independent

Rank: Unwilling comrade of Taire, his partner in crime. Not that they don't commit crimes though...

    Gender: Male

    Appearance

"You do like wearing impractical clothes sometimes..."

"You can't complain, these are pretty comfortable."

At first glance, Jack seens rather average, weighing in on the light side and standing tall at 5"7. While he may not seem like the type, Jack has somewhat toned muscles from getting into small scrapes and fights with the two warring sides over the years. Also as a result of these scrapes, his hands are noticably paler and leathery due to the numerous scars and cuts incurred, along with a broken-and-healed-wrong nose. Not much a guy can do while far away from a decent medical facilities these days. Since he's always on the move between towns, Jack is slightly sunburnt where he isn't tan. As for other details, most folks don't get a glimpse of Jack's eyes, or any other defining facial features on account of the yellow-tinted glasses or goggles he wears. For the record, Jack's eyes are plain brown, and his face seems to be contorted into a perpetual state of annoyance. It's rare to see him flash a genuine smile, though he has taken to laughing sarcastically the majority of the time. His hair is dark brown with the odd teal highlight running through it, and definitely messy. It also tends to stick up in the front and is pulled back into a short ponytail. Yes, he does cut it sometimes, but those times are far and few in between and usually involves haphazard snipping with a knife.

And clothes! Despite the relatively acrid climate of Orre, Jack feels at home when wearing a green sweatshirt under a rather plain, gray jacket. It does have the effect of making him look bulkier than he really is since the sweatshirt doesn't quite fit well enough with the sleeves of the jacket. The hood also hangs out since the jacket has a somewhat high collar (usually flattened down around his shoulder) but no hood. In most cases, especially when traveling, Jack wears the hood to protect himself from the weather. Though when he does go into town, he leaves it down since it does make him stick out more and seem suspicious. Well yeah, the weather is pretty warm, though for some reason, Jack doesn't seem to be affected by the temperatures. He has claimed multiple times that he prefers cold weather over warm sunny days however. Jack also prefers jeans, especially those of the tough variety. Since he doesn't get a lot of time to shop, the pairs he does have are usually dusty from the Orre soil and worn out around the seams. Footwear, there's not much variety considering Jack's lifestyle, and he has opted for a hardy pair of hiking boots, dark gray and leathery from years of use. While Jack does have a nice pair of gloves for protection, that stuff is usually just in his backpack.

As for other stuff that can be seen on his person, Jack wears a silver watch on his left hand (he's ambidextrous, though he does seem to favor his left hand). There is also the aforementioned glasses and goggles, worn most of the time. The glasses are for a day out in town, while goggles would be more for traveling between towns to protect the eyes from the sun and dust storms that occasionally whirl about the place. And of course he needs places to put some of his important stuff too! His jacket has a few pockets - two obvious ones on the outside, but a few concealed in the inner lining of the jacket. This is where he keeps his spare cash and a cell phone for emergencies. His jeans do have pockets; those go unused as it's easy for things to fall out of there. The majority of his stuff (rations, water, notebooks (for keeping tabs on the situation in Orre)) are stowed away in a light black backpack. Also right on top of everything is two bars of steel alloy which is used for... stuff. They weigh approximately 50kg combined (110lbs). You'll see what he uses those for later on. Before I forget, the Pokeballs are usually in one of his jacket pockets, though most of the time his Pokemon are outside of their balls. Other than that, there really isn't much else to comment on other than the fact that Jack owns a well-maintained motorcycle that somehow survived everything from explosions to running away from everything.

    Personality

Pretty easy to sum up Jack in a few words; nothing fazes him. It is rather hard to get him to flinch or bat an eye at anything, and on top of it, his default expression is that of perpetual annoyance. Even close friends and family have not actually figured out what Jack is always annoyed at, and have come to the conclusion that it is everything out there. Also, the fact that Jack barely comments on anything have misled people to believe that he is soft-spoken or quiet or antisocial. Which suits him just fine, as he isn't one for making small talk. This seems to stem from the fact that he dislikes inadvertently provoking people into fighting him. With his aloof attitude and constant aura of annoyance, Jack has ended up in fights and will still end up in fights anyways. However, just because he doesn't make small talk doesn't mean he can't carry a conversation. He just would rather be thinking about something else more important or discussing the ramifications of the numerous skirmishes scattered throughout the Orre region.

If someone ever gets him talking for an extended period of time, they'll find out quickly that Jack is well-read and does know a large chunk of information on a variety of subjects. It does seem like he knows a lot about molecular chemistry and other major sciences such as physics and biology in particular. On the subject of information and knowledge in general, he is meticulous in dealing with information (those notebooks in his backpacks are there for a reason), despite not being a Thinker of some kind, causing him to be quite good at reading people and how situations may turn out. However, this only applies when he actually has prior knowledge, so if Jack is thrown into a situation without any reading on what is happening, he tends to hesitate while he calculates his best options. To his credit, even without figuring out the best options, Jack takes up the initiative and charges into battle a lot. This lets him get the jump on most people as they aren't expecting a full frontal charge like what he does.

Additionally, while Jack may be annoyed most of the time, he has relatively thick skin. It takes a massive amount of goading, back-talk, and insults to get him to boil over with anger, and even then, that anger may pass relatively quickly. On the other end of the spectrum, it takes a lot of effort to make him smile, though less to make him laugh. He doesn't hold grudges - it's not in his nature to do so. However, he does remember people, and will judge them based on their actions and words. If a person does get on his good side, the one thing he will do for sure is to back that person up, no matter what happens. Just don't mess with his friends or family. It won't end well. It's also wise to keep in mind that Jack acts in his self-interest the majority of the time when making decisions.

On the subject of morals, considering the powers he ended up with, Jack abhors killing. For safety's sake, he will not hesitate to fight but will definitely stop short of killing. A manipulative person could twist this to their advantage, but if pushed far enough over the edge at all, morals definitely will go out of the window.

    History

As far as people go, Jack has had a relatively peaceful life. He hails from the underground city of the Under, which as far as anyone is concerned, doesn't exist anymore. But considering that it was only recently demolished, Jack has spent the majority of his childhood between the Under and Pyrite Town, mainly because his school was in Pyrite. Pyrite's education system could've been better, but Jack spent most of his spare time reading when he wasn't running with the gangs in the Under. He does have some faint connections to the Kids Grid, having ran errands for them during the events of Pokemon Colosseum. But other than that, he largely stayed out of much of those events because of concern from his parents and the fact that his brother was terrible at sticking up for himself in fights at school. When Jack was around 11, his family moved up to Pyrite Town due to the Under being filled in and the fact that no one really wanted to be crushed by rocks at all. Not much changed for Jack in ways of lifestyle, except that he entered high school a few years after that. High school sucked, and Jack just kept to himself at that point. He was happy to graduate and worked as a messenger slash mail-person between towns. Sure he could've gotten into a college outside of Orre, and would have excelled there if it wasn't for the fact that his parents was getting old and had to be cared for. As a result, Jack was the one who stayed behind while his brother headed out to the Sinnoh region to major in the field of Pokemon evolution.

In any case, when the first Cluster hit Pyrite Town, it turned into literal chaos. Jack and his parents were close enough to the epicenter that it was in his own words, "hell to get out of". Since Jack was a Brute, he took the majority of hits when shuffling his parents out to Agate Town where he knew it was rather peaceful. The region was tumbling into hell, and apparently, immigration was bad in other regions. So there wasn't much of a chance to get his family out of the region. Agate Town seemed peaceful enough and it was decided that they would stay there for the time being while all this conflict blew over. And they still needed to make money, so Jack continued on his job as a messenger. He makes no distinction between jobs posted by the Cipher or the Lab organizations, and has a reputation for being very tight-lipped about everything, allowing him to at least run minor messages and briefs alongside the bulk that are collected from regular people scattered around Orre. The fact that everyone's letters are mixed up lends to a sense of concealment, and Jack is honorable enough that he wouldn't peek at them.

Presently, it is around this time he met an old and rather annoying rival from his school days - Taire. It was honestly an off-chance that they ever met at all; Taire was also on the move, and seemed to be keeping tabs on the situation. As the story goes, they met, fought, somehow made up, and became thick as thieves afterwards. Currently, the two seems to be cooperating in the 'business' as they say.

    Pokemon

[Mephistopheles] Xatu (M) - Ability: Magic Bounce
A devious Natu acquired from Jack's brother from the Sinnoh region, now evolved into an Xatu. It was a Pokemon with a rare ability, acquired from a prolific breeder at Solaceon Daycare. The Xatu was jokingly nicknamed Mephistopheles after Jack was on the receiving end of various psychic manipulations. Afterwards, they made a deal they had each other's back as long as Mephistopheles is able to roam free and enjoy the 'pleasures of life' as they say. Personality-wise, as a Psychic-type, Mephistopheles is highly intelligent, though lazy. Most of the time, Jack has to carry him around since Xatus are known to stay still as much as possible which doesn't fit Jack's lifestyle at all. It's a cause of one of the many annoyances

[Beleth] Garchomp (F) - Ability: Sand Veil
Originally a Gible, Beleth is Jack's first Pokemon. She's quite loyal to Jack and will follow him around, even to the ends of the earth. Garchomps are quite fierce - Beleth is no exception, often intimidating other Pokemon in battle before she even enters the fray. However past that, Beleth is quite adorable and cuddly, always happy to be petted or scratched under the cheek. She can seem quite air-headed in general, but this can be attributed to the fact that Beleth operates on mostly gut instinct.

    Powers

Breaker (7) / Striker (5) [Recomposition - Decomposition] - Two sides of the same coin, this power basically breaks the law of the conservation of energy, though matter is a limitation. This is due to the formation and breaking of chemical bonds in order to accomplish whatever purpose he has in mind, which requires extra energy in order to do so. With its wide variety of uses, this power has led many people to believe that Jack's actual power is manipulating metal into various shapes and forms, which is his most used application for this power. One of the drawbacks to this power is that it requires a thorough and in-depth knowledge of the chemical composition of the object being affected. Because of this drawback, Jack is limited to only inanimate objects that he knows the exact composition of, such as the bars in his backpack made out of steel alloy. He can apply this to the steel bars in his backpack by manipulating them into shapes such as an emergency fix for his motorcycle, shelter, protection, weapons, and so on. He has had enough practice with doing this that it's almost natural to go for that while in a fight. Practice helps in this case and instinctively knowing where to change things, but Jack is pretty unwilling to use his power towards any sort of killing, though that doesn't include self-defense. Since decomposition is covered pretty well, recomposition on the other hand is a whole 'nother ball park. Jack has observed that it's definitely a lot harder to recompose objects into their original states, requiring the knowledge of their general structure and orientation. While it is possible, it seems unreachable at the moment when it comes to synthetic materials due to their complexity and the fact that it requires more concentration and energy to do in the first place. Can't say if he will attain that level, but it definitely seems quite far off. Both recomposition and decomposition seems to take up a significant amount of Jack's energy on use. Also, Jack is not affected if he tries using this ability on himself which eliminates the possibility of it being a Changer/Stranger ability. Biological structures are unaffected though organic compounds such as oil synthesis are fair game. So far, Jack has been able to bond hydrogen and oxygen together to create some water in an emergency, restructure walls so they are easier to break through, and whatever else the situation can call for.

    Brute (2) -
He can weather blows for a longer period of time than regular people. Other than that and a noticeable increase in healing from wounds, it's not much to write home about. Additionally, there hasn't been an increase to Jack's physical strength, an oddity amongst Brutes in most cases. You might've noticed that Jack is able to carry a lot of stuff on his back (steel bars weigh 50kg total, along with food and rations and stuff like that), and the answer is that even without being a Brute, Jack is still able to carry a lot in general. Bones can still break, and everyone bleeds the same anyways.

    Voltaire "Taire" Sangier
    Spoiler:
    Name: Voltaire "Taire" Riley Sangier

    Age: 28

    Gender: Male

Side: Neutral, with slight favorism towards the Organization

Rank: The cheery, energetic side of the Jack-Taire Power Hour~

    Appearance
If there's one thing to be said about Taire, it is that anyone could pick him out of a crowd, any time, any day, anywhere. One reason is because of his shockingly violet hair, which you really can't call natural. It's always on edge - sticking out in tufts when not hidden away by the customary golfing cap he wears. On top of it, it always changes whenever he gets the chance to get it styled, eliciting snide comments from Jack whenever they meet. Rarely does he default to his natural hair color, which is a dirty blond color. Other than the garishly bright hair, Taire has a rather boyish face, seeming younger than he really is. Coupled with his height of 5"2 and his slender build, Taire looks like an 18 year-old kid. They'd be half right at least. He is one of those folks that always has a bright sunny grin on his face, no matter the situation. Always enthusiastic about something, the grin extends to his eyes, which are blue. With all of these details, Taire is a person not easily forgotten.

Unlike the man himself, his clothes are sharp and formal. Due to his slender appearance, it can be hard to find clothes that fit him. When he does find a style he likes, he pulls it off to a T. Currently, Taire is dressed up in a navy blue blazer, crisply ironed, with a white collared shirt underneath. Slightly detracting from his more-or-less formal appearance is a checkered handkerchief tied around his neck. The kerchief is there to protect him from the harsh dust storms that roll across Orre regularly, though Taire lacks eye protection. He's been meaning to get sunglasses or goggles sometimes, but those seem rare. Whenever possible, he borrows one of Jack's pairs (without telling him of course). This pair is usually re-appropriated by Jack later on, leaving Taire with the same problems as before. Moving on from talking about glasses, Taire wears slacks to match his blazer, and they are typically black or dark gray. He has worn white pants before, but they usually end up reddish from the dust and walking around after only a short time. His shoes are more practical; he alternates between sneakers and dress shoes depending on the occasion.

There really isn't a lot of other things that catch your eye about Taire. This is in part due to the fact that Taire is quite meticulous about his appearance and whatever necklaces or wristbands he wears is usually hidden under his sleeves or shirt. There is a simple silver chain worn around his neck that is barely noticeable under the handkerchief. It is a gift from his mother, and out of respect to her, he continues to wear it. Since Taire does a lot of footwork on a daily basis, he stows away whatever he needs into a leather messenger bag. The few mainstays are a tablet (with a surprisingly long battery life though he has a solar charger), notebooks, pencils, water, food, and a switchknife.

    Personality

What you see is what you get when it comes to Taire. He's very open about everything and will not hesitate to make his opinions and thoughts known. If given the opportunity, Taire will yak your ear off with a constant stream of words and sentences - a load of nonsense really at first glance. This instantly causes most people to dismiss his words right away because it's a mess of meanings to sift through. However to people that are used to his manner of speaking, Taire is actually pretty good at picking up on many details others miss and will often drop hints about them in the mess of words he dumps. He definitely does become much more coherent when the situation calls for it, but most of the time he always seems happy-go-lucky. A lot of things just roll off him and Taire seems to be forgiving of most insults except for jabs about his age.

Taire is pretty bad at most other things, especially when it comes to crunching numbers or memorizing facts and events, though the one thing he excels in is reading people and their quirks right off the bat. He's very good at pushing other people's buttons and will happily do it with a genuine smile. Most actions Taire undertakes have a hint of underlying aims though Taire is quite good at portraying them as altruistic aims.

While he may project an air of confidence and certainty, the recent upheavals in Orre has played hell with his perceptions of himself. The rise of parahumans have given Taire a bit of an inferiority complex and also determination to do better than them, despite the various advantages they hold over him. He has a bit of a negative bias towards both sides of the war, though if he had to pick, Taire vastly prefers the Organization over Cipher due to some nasty rumors he has picked up on as of late. As a result, Taire is self-sufficient and clear-minded in his aims to end the war as soon as possible. He is a bit of an idealist in this sense, believing that there has to be a clear solution to the war's resolution. Feel free to argue with him, Taire is quite skilled in rhetoric and persuasion. He could convince anyone that day is night, even when the fact is plain in the sky.

    History

History-wise, Taire was born an only child, and raised in Phenac City. His family was relatively rich, able to afford the higher prices water and housing in the city and still have a lot left over for luxuries. Despite the luxury, Taire always had this feeling that something was off about the whole town. This was further confirmed when his lifelong idol, Mayor Es Cade was arrested in the events of Pokemon Colosseum. It definitely shattered his morals and expectations and after that, Taire's performance in school started to decline, especially when it came to his favorite subjects of English and linguistics. Concerned for their child, his parents entered him into a few weeks of an exchange program with a school in Pyrite. The whole experience overall was... interesting as they say.

Taire certainly did perk up a bit during the exchange program. The grittiness of Pyrite and its people interested him a lot and Taire really started establishing some black market connections on top of his studies. Just for the future, yanno? Oh yeah, I did mention that Jack and Taire have met before. It was right around this time, actually Taire's first day in Pyrite when he was punched in the face during a chaotic gym class. And the person who punched him was Jack, who never apologized for this incident, or any other thereafter. And as a person, Jack was somewhat intriguing to Taire. Respected by most students, quiet, intelligent; he was just the kind of person Taire liked to annoy. He did try, but nothing he did had any effect. And that was cut short as Taire's time with the exchange program ended and he transferred back to Phenac. After that, he simply vanished from public view, working on building up his own business.

Taire was in Phenac City when he heard about the first cluster and the subsequent chaos. He was still in Phenac City when Cipher took over. Disgusted with their operations, Taire left the city and set up his smuggling operations in Pyrite. On occasion, though not often, Taire can smuggle people out of the region, but with the heightened suspicion of sailors at the moment, even smuggling supplies is a bit of a stretch. A lot of it is rather underground and unknown, aided even further by the constant roil of chaos in Pyrite Town. As a normal, Taire has found it prudent to keep most of the details hidden and have largely avoided most of the problems in Pyrite Town simply by mapping out the patterns and trends in the war. As for how he has been able to get contraband in and out of the Orre region, this is mostly done through the various waterways leading towards the ocean in the mountainous regions of Orre. Presently, his smuggling operations doesn't require much oversight, allowing Taire to just simply travel around and keep tabs on the situation. He occasionally travels with Jack just because it's a lot faster than taking a Pokemon and he gets some protection in return too.

    Pokemon

Coming from an affluent family, Taire owns quite a few imported Pokemon.

[Stolas] Toxicroak (M) - Ability: Anticipation
Jumpy and paranoid, Stolas is Taire's first Pokemon. He got it as a Croagunk when he was in high school and they became fast friends. With his ability, Stolas can usually react to attacks even faster than most people can say "What?". Normally, he wasn't as jumpy or paranoid, but with recent events and the on-going war, it's not much of a stretch to see why he would be that jittery. Even so, Stolas is dedicated to sparring and martial arts, often trying to goad Taire into fighting him even when he knows it won't happen.

[Dandy] Ludicolo (F) - Ability: Rain Dish
The happiest Pokemon in the group, Dandy loves to dance. And no one can tell her to stop. Not even her trainer. So most of the time she stays in her Pokeball, because no one really wants to see her get hurt, neither do they want to see a random twirling Ludicolo waltz into a fight. Despite that, Dandy is kind-hearted, and will often try to lift the spirits of the people around her. She doesn't seem to know the difference between a good person and a bad person, and has been known to randomly guide Cipher peons into a dance when no one's looking.

[Giacomo] Furret (F) - Ability: Keen Eye

Often acting as Taire's scout, Giacomo is a no-nonsense Pokemon. She dislikes opinions, and vastly prefers objective facts which makes her so valuable as a scout. Her ability, Keen Eye, lets her spot oncoming enemies from several miles away. Most of the time, Giacomo is in charge of accounting and observation, two things she apparently likes to do. She is known to be quite fierce in battle and will not hesitate to claw out another Pokemon's eyes or take advantage of any of their weak spots.

    Powers

Taire currently does not have any powers, preferring to make it by on luck and skill. However, if he does run into a Cluster further along the line, these will be the main power he has. I just grouped them all at once since it's really one power with multiple classifications.

Stranger (5) / Blaster (5) / Trump (5) [Now You See Him, Now You Don't] - Along with the passive lack of presence Strangers have, Taire is able to project visual and auditory hallucinations towards individuals. These hallucinations have just about as much substance as air, however they are very convincing and operate on procedural generation. It is rather hard to tell where reality ended and when illusions begin and can hang around for anywhere from a few minutes to several hours due to the twists and turns the illusion can take. However, they can only be applied individually and this is where the Blaster classification comes into play. The power ranking for Blaster is higher because of its specialization in only applying the hallucinations. As long as Taire has someone in his sights, he can hit them with an illusion and then escape. The Blaster ability can also be used to transfer weaker versions of Taire's Stranger ability to other people, explaining the Trump classification, though it makes his own ability weaker and weaker the more people it is transferred to. This effect wears off naturally over time though Taire can choose to withdraw it as long as he can see the person and identify him.

Other: Nope got nothing else to say.

Jack looks mostly good, except for one /major/ detail: his power is an explicit violation of the Krane Effect. It's a creative power that I like, but it can't violate that. I made that a hard and fast rule because otherwise powers get really broken really fast. I mean, in a world where there is no Krane Effect, Benjamin can decide to make your heart too heavy for your connective tissue and blood vessels, making it fall to the floor and out of your body. Therefore, that's a limitation I'm enforcing. Hard.

    *brick'd for double posting*

    It's up!

Liked Benjamin's intro the best, followed by Sara. I'm hoping Molly gets more substance next post.

@Death's Spook, I tried to make my characters better. I don't think I did good enough. Rather than posting them over, I replaced the original submission.

@Death's Spook, I've changed Jack's power to only be used on non-biological targets, though this means that things such organic compounds are still affected and can be synthesized (like hydrocarbons, proteins, sugars, etc).

    Also added another character. ^_^

    Character is finished:

    Spoiler:

    Name: Chelsea Arkiten
    Age: 17 years old
Side: Hirable Assassin (Third Party, Loner) AKA Neutral, can be convinced to join a side
    Rank: Loner
    Gender: Female

    Appearance:
Chelsea is an...interesting person in terms of clothing. We’ll start from the top and work our way down. First of all, her haircut man. This is the neatest thing about her. Although it’s completely straight, it curves around her head a little. I would draw it but I’m not good. It’s an interesting design, and if you can imagine, it sort of looks like a helmet per say. Oh yeah, it’s black with some blue highlights. Ain’t that just strange? Anyways, she generally wears a pair of aviator goggles under her hair.

Moving down, we go to her basic top wear. She wears a green tanktop with a camo-colored winter jacket that is partially cut apart. The reason is to make it lighter and more easily worn. She generally carries all the various metals she has invented in these for battles so that she can have a slight advantage. It’s sown with some of the toughest material she knows, but it could be torn open due to age.

Next, she wears some very baggy jeans on her. She carries many of her tools of trade and just regular tools in these. They can also be used to decieve the opponents with her direct kicking talents. These are however, all purpose jeans. They are meant to keep her body temperature a stable one in any conditions through some technology she installed. Hey, she’s a mechanic, what can I really do?

    Some minor things to note:
She wears mechanic’s gloves that she sewn an inside layer of bullet proof armor, to catch bullets per say. Although, she’s gotta be really prepared to do this. She wears no earings, and has no jewelry on her. She HATES that stuff. Also, if you want a picture to think of her easier, here you go: http://img1.ak.crunchyroll.com/i/spi...0c6c0_full.jpg

    More minor things:
    Eye Color - Emerald
May wear a scarf here and there
    Skin Color/Race - Caucasian

    Personality:
Due to having a strict past all together, Chelsea seems to follow her own code and doesn’t apply to anything else. For one, we can start off at her military-like personality. Chelsea is generally respected as she follows whatever you give her for a job, no matter how complicated it is. She doesn’t believe in not showing respect and has always been strict with anyone around her too. Just a way of life I suppose, it’s interesting to think about. With this, she’s fairly confident in her own abilities, and walks up with her head and chin high whether she deserves it or not.

Other than that, Chelsea seems to be more of a cold-hearted person than anything else. She almost shows no emotion when you see or talk to her, mostly because she hides them. She doesn’t believe in any qualities of friendship, she has no clue how to be nice to a human being. The only thing she knows how to be show emotions with is other pokemon, which you can usually see her talking to them over the people. However, even though this is nearly impossible, you can open up some emotions, but they won’t be long lasting.

After all, an assassin can’t show any weakness.

    History:
Chelsea doesn’t have much of a history that is known before the 7 years in which
survival of the fittest started. Born in the Orre region is all that which can really be said. Moving on, Chelsea has been living as a loner ever since she her powers, her parent’s having died by a flame controller who she had later killed that year at the age of 10. Not knowing what to do with them or how she would live, Chelsea became an assassin for hire, and was one of the best in her job frame around some cities. Having earned herself a lot of cash, she fancied the life and her personality seemed to shape around it.

It wasn’t until recently that she started capturing Pokemon to help her with her jobs. As she got her team all situated, she realized how much the world was changing around her. People were constantly fighting, and arguments broke out a lot. Two major powers; Cipher and the labs. These were what she knew would help her get money. She has all her gear prepared for any situation to come.

    Pokemon:
    Aegislash [Raider]
    Greninja [Falsor]
    Dragonite [Mars]
    Honchkrow [Monsiuer]
    Ditto [Laust]
    Gardevoir [Saran]

    Powers:
    Stranger 8:
Chelsea has been an assassin for so long that she’s managed to enhance this skill to its fullest ability. This ability is like the saying “hear no evil, see no evil, think no evil.” You can’t see her or hear her unless you’ve been distinctively chosen by her to see her, or if you have a trump/whatever ability that counters this. This makes Chelsea very dangerous, because with her Ditto, she can create illusions with it that can throw an opponent off and possibly open a chance for her to strike.

    Shaker 7:
Chelsea has been throwing objects for years, it's one of her assassination techniques. She's developed with her power the ability to alter the speed and direction of any object she throws with ease by using air molecules around it. However, she can't make it turn around or crap; it is always in a straight path, it can just curve and go faster.

    Thinker 4:
Chelsea has the tendency to study movements and size up her opponent’s actions when in a fight. She can usually see what the person could possibly do, but she’s usually off. This makes her very deadly in hand to hand combat, and the fact that if she sees the direction you shoot anything in besides a blaster shot, she can pretty much catch it, or attempt to. She hasn’t managed to fully get this down, so it ends up screwing her up a lot too.

    Other:
As you can tell, the personality and backstory are a bit short. Personality was difficult for me, since she’s one of those characters that I could imagine up, but not come up with how they acted. Also, I will be revealing some more, but not much backstory through the RP, so take that in hand.

    Likewise, finished!

    Name: Ellen
    Age: 14
Side: Neutral, but newly recruited by Lab
    Rank: Newly recruited
    Gender: Female
Appearance: Ellen stands at about 5’2’’. She’s rather thin but not to the point of being unhealthy. Her ragged auburn hair has grown longer than she’s used to, reaching several inches below her shoulders, but Ellen usually ties it up in a ponytail to keep it out of her face. She has dark hazel eyes with a tint of green. Her face is both round and angular - as she’s gotten older, her chin and cheekbones have become more defined, but she is still in the process of aging. She has fair skin with freckles speckled across her face, and her overall childish appearance is both helpful and deceptive at the same time.

Apparel-wise, Ellen prefers to keep things simple. She wears a graphic tee with a forest green parka several sizes too big. Her weather-resistant leggings compliment her pair of black combat boots. While Ellen might normally try and dress up, she understands the realities that the world is changing. While she’s particularly fond of these clothes and has been wearing them for quite a long time, she isn’t really attached to them. The one physical weapon that Ellen possesses, a switchblade, is tucked into her boot and is easily accessible in times of danger. Ellen carries a simple backpack where she puts her items and Pokeballs for safe storage, but when she’s actively using her Pokemon, she instead chooses to keep them in her jacket’s pockets for easier access.

If you’re more of an image-based person, here’s a link to a picture that I used for the base of my description - there are some small changes, but this is basically the design I attempted to use.

Personality: Perhaps in another world, Ellen would be like any other teenage girl. Falling over boys, playing sports, and acting social. At heart, she’s still just a child. But the world is cold and cruel, and she’s had to adapt to survive.

She’s rather quiet. In a world where love is foolish and trust is a death sentence, she’s learned to stay to herself. Her powers lead her to be more introverted. Likewise, she’s spent most of her life alone, so she finds it even harder to communicate with others. Yet, she also recognizes the safety in numbers. She’s become an expert at blending in (though not quite like a Stranger), and though she certainly likes being left alone, she fears being completely and entirely alone. In the rare times where Ellen has been able to finally feel comfortable, she becomes more extroverted with her emotions and is generally happier. But these feelings always fade, and Ellen is always left hurt. As such, she has become averse to opening up to anybody.

During times of crises, Ellen can generally handle herself. Her probabilistic detections of the future become increasingly potent in hand to hand combat, as she’s able to accurately predict many attacks several seconds before they ever occur. However, because she has become so reliant on these powers, when she is without them (in cases such as battling a Trump), she is entirely lost. Likewise, while Ellen is small and quick, she can only evade so many attacks - against a well qualified fighter, Ellen is sure to lose. This makes her very evasive and vulnerable at the same time.

Somehow, there has always been something in the back of her head, telling her something is wrong. Quite like the feeling of forgetting something, Ellen always feels like something is amiss, though she can’t quite place her finger on it. Whether this is simple backlash of her powers or something larger, Ellen doesn't know. She does know, however, that whatever is missing is extremely important to her as a person.

History: Be aware that some of this information has been modified or altered to protect Ellen. Not everything seen here is truth, but it is what Ellen knows of her past.

Ellen was born in Phenac City, living in a sandy adobe on the outskirts of town. Born to a single mother, Eden, distraught with a recent divorce, her infancy was quite confusing. Reminded of the man who left her broken, Eden found it hard to even look at Ellen. As such, Eden’s sole Pokemon, a Honchkrow, became an impromptu caretaker. Even at such a young age, Ellen vaguely remembers strange men in masks and skin suits would constantly roll through her house. They spoke of great change, a revolution to sweep the nation of Orre.

Only a few years passed before the men stopped coming. Likewise, shortly after their numbers decreased, Ellen and her mother moved to Agate Village. From there, Ellen and Eden lived their lives in relative peace. Eden became more and more motherly towards Ellen, and the Honchkrow even offered Ellen to raise one of her hatchlings. While in the Village of the Celebi, Ellen became exposed to the wonders of Pokemon. In secret, she began training with one of Agate’s elders to become a Pokemon trainer. It was during this time that Ellen obtained Machete and developed her own strength.

However, this peace could only last for so long. On a seemingly random day, an explosion of green light radiated all throughout Agate Village, and time stopped entirely. Except for Ellen and Eden. Scared and confused in the frozen world, Ellen was dragged by her mother to the Agate Stone. Resting atop the pillar was Celebi, the pixie of the forest herself. In a means of talking without words, Celebi explained to both Ellen and her mother that they were destined for great things, and that she would bless them with the power of sight. Laying a kiss upon their foreheads, when they awoke, a scene of chaos was built all around them. The second cluster had appeared, and Ellen’s mind essentially exploded, overrun with the possibilities of the future. She fell into a deep coma shortly after seeing the protector of time disappear.

When Ellen awoke, she was in an entirely new place. Later discovered to be Pyrite Town, she and her mother had apparently left Agate directly after the cluster appeared. Now in the City of Rogues, Ellen was lost and alone, thrown into a city torn apart by violence. Further, Eden became increasingly distant once more. Intense headaches plagued Ellen, but it seemed as if Eden held a more refined version of Ellen’s powers - instead of a probabilistic view of the future, it seemed as if Eden held the one true path to the future, and she was terrified of what she saw.

Mysterious men resumed appearing in their new house, located underground in the Under Keep. Ellen doesn’t remember them specifically, but she does remember being constantly afraid. She lived in a constant state of fear for several years until one day when Ellen was out, she returned to her house and found it utterly destroyed. Her mother was missing, and all that remained was a note tucked away in Ellen’s bed, buried under a mountain of rubble. In unusually scribbly handwriting, Eden informed Ellen of the planned kidnapping but also told her that her future was with the Lab. As such, Ellen left Pyrite and headed for the Lab, set on finding her mother once more.

    Pokemon:
    • Princess Murkrow Icarus the Murkrow - Male, Prankster.
Ellen’s starter Pokemon, she received Icarus as an egg from Ellen’s mother’s own starting Pokemon, a Honchkrow. At the age of 6, the egg hatched, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Icarus is quite the prankster. His developed intelligence allows him to interact with humans in intelligent and creative ways. He is slightly manipulative and even a tad sadistic. Icarus is also very defensive of Ellen and the other team mates. While Icarus lacks the brawn and bulk to take down threats, he holds his own in battle by combining unique strategy with shady tactics. Often found perched on Ellen’s shoulder.

    • Machete the Ursaring - Male, Guts
Ellen’s powerhouse of the team. Machete was a weak Teddiursa when Ellen found it, starving in the outskirts of Agate. However, when Ellen was able to slowly nurse it back to health, Machete became loyal and formidable as a battler. It likewise became defensive of Ellen and her mother, capable of warding off most mundane threats. Now an Ursaring, Machete is capable of tearing apart humans and Pokemon alike with no reservations. Anybody threatening Ellen or her teammates have to go through Machete first, which is no easy feat.

    • Xatu - Female, Magic Bounce
Perhaps the strangest Pokemon on Ellen’s team, Xatu doesn’t consider herself as a captured Pokemon. Sure, Xatu has a Pokeball, but that’s only for storage and protection. Xatu joined Ellen’s team rather recently - Xatu was a gift from Ellen’s mother only days before her kidnapping. Ellen is Xatu’s equal, and they both understand that Xatu is so much more than just a Pokemon. With similar precognitive abilities, Xatu and Ellen are able to benefit from each other. Xatu is pretty weak as it is, but strong psychic powers allow for her to stand her ground when needed.

    • Violet the Ambipom - Female, Pickup
Violet (typically called Vi) was a gift from one of the elders of Agate, obtained mere days before the cluster appeared and she left. While Ellen and Violet don’t always see eye to eye because of conflicting definitions of “ownership,” Vi has proven to be a formidable ally to Ellen’s team. With double handed fist-tails of fury, Violet is nimble and strong. She takes a sort of motherly role towards Ellen and her team, feeling morally obligated to enact the elder’s last wish. As such, she becomes especially offensive when any of her allies are threatened. She and Machete form Ellen’s offensive core of the team.

    Powers:
    • Thinker - Stage 7
Ellen holds a developing sense of precognition. While it is relatively minor compared to the levels of precognition that many strong Thinkers are able to achieve, Ellen is able to reliably see several seconds into the future. Occasionally, however, Ellen is able to see further. This only occurs for major events of “descending darkness,” such as the cataclysm and other similar events. Because nothing is set in stone for these far off occurrences, countless endings are visualized by Ellen, and as the event approaches, the likelihood of each outcome changes. This makes Ellen’s powers unreliable for events far off but incredibly useful for events that take place several seconds away (where the chances of it happening are near 100%). This makes her much more difficult to hit in physical combat, where she knows your attacks. However, this leaves her entirely vulnerable to surprise - against a strong, experienced fighter that knows how to deal with her, Ellen has no chance of winning the fight. Ellen also has heightened concentration and multi-tasking skills, so she isn’t entirely overwhelmed when observing the infinite possibilities of the future.

    • Tinker - Stage 3
A minor power that hardly compares to other Tinkers, Ellen has gained a small affinity with technology. While she is certainly handy with a screwdriver and general building of things, her true strengths are functions of her Thinker ratings. While there are many different possible creations associated with her powers, she only knows how to construct a device used to illustrate her thoughts and ideas. Quite like a modified Etch-a-Sketch designed to read the thoughts of the user, Ellen is able to directly portray her thoughts onto a tablet constructed of simple glass, metal, and sand. These can be illustrations, sentences, or countless other representations of her thoughts. This helps Ellen maintain clarity and order in her seemingly disorganized brain. This power is relatively new to Ellen’s knowledge - she hasn’t explored it to its maximum, but it is unlikely that this power will develop much further.

Ok. In general (this is a minor complaint with a disproportionate spiel): people are being very liberal with giving their characters a rating of 10 on the scale. 10 is for those whose powers are ridiculously out there, and it's ok if you don't have a ten rating: in fact, 99.99% of the parahumans in Orre probably don't.

To give you an idea of how hard it is to achieve a 10 rating: Sara, for example, is a Tinker who can literally improve upon the work of Victor Frakenstein... And manage her creations with an AI that puts Skynet and GLaDOS to shame. She can create new forms of life, and improve on what's already there.

She still has a /9/ in Tinkering. Not a ten.

The 10s are truly the extraordinary cases. Molly has a 10 Stranger rating because she can create multiple detailed illusions simultaneously while having them all act independently of her and each other. Because of the nature of her power, she can even fool night vision. And she can do this all within a radius of half a kilometer around her, leaving her capable of fooling entire portions cities and making them fall for her ruse if she plays her cards right. She can, in mid combat, make you look exactly like one of your enemies so that you're taken down by friendly fire.

/That's/ a ten rating. It's the Organization's way of saying "You know what? This power is ridiculous. Screw you guys, I'm going home." I mean, there's a reason that someone like, to single out names, Clydus is left relatively unmolested by everyone despite openly being a cape (and one with powers that are coveted by both sides, at that).

TL;DR: Be a little less liberal with the scores, basically. The rant was entirely disproportionate to the crime (especially because it's an easy fix), but it keeps my logic clear.

    In order for the SUs:
@Dragon Master: I see barely any change to your SUs, and the main issue I asked you to address is completely untouched. No.
@TheoreticalSelkie: Just knock down Jack's Breaker rating to 8 and he should be fine. Taire's potential power will need kink sorting out, but that can be done when/if he gets them later and therefore is no obstacle to both characters being accepted.
@Lightning Dash: Chelsea looks mostly good. Her Stranger should be knocked down to about 7 or 8. It's powerful, but not to that extent. Her Striker is more problematic: it doesn't really play well with the Krane Effect. Fix those two things, and you should be fine, though.
@Princess Crow: Ellen is mostly good. The main phrase that's giving me fits is in her description of her Thinker ability, specifically, that she knows how to counter all moves against her. No. That's an instant win condition. Could future sight help? Absolutely. But it won't give you a perfect counter every time. It'll make you far harder to hit, but not impossible. Not by a long shot.
