Finally finding a decent and capable crew of Pokémon to work with, you decide to see how you can help them out by heading into the Northern Reach and investigating the Cedarwood Apartments. While deep into the Northern Reach territory, you feel confident about your sneaking ability. And even so, confident in your ability to swipe a ghoul’s head off if you needed to.
It’s a little hotter today than usual, but the wind is cooperating for now. You make the long walk through the deserted Northern Reach to the crumbling Cedarwood Apartments building, which looks like it could collapse quite easily if another earthquake were to happen. Still, you figure if it sounds like the building is coming down, you could easily jump and bail out in time.
You start by searching the exterior, and you find an unlucky Shellos scavenger that looks like they were eaten alive and weren’t able to defend themselves enough from a horde of OMEN ghouls. Still, they left behind a very decent-looking machete. While you feel confident you don’t need it because you’ve got your own claws, you figure the Emissaries might be interested in it.
[|AW| Military Machete] (Adds 4 damage to successful attack rolls) was added to the Team Inventory.
You take it along and get back to seeing if there’s any more goodies lying around.
The outside just seems to mostly have rubble and a lot of broken furniture, so you head inside and take care what you step on. There’s piles of rubble everywhere and a lot of the apartments are buried under heaps of broken concrete. From what you do find, there isn’t too much besides broken furniture, twisted metal, and dirty linens, but you do find one ripped-up mattress that looks like someone used it to hide some of their money. You’re not too surprised to see other scavengers never noticed this hidden stash, but you get plenty of satisfaction from knowing you found what they didn’t.
$255 Sochas$ were added to the Team Inventory.
You’re sure the Emissaries will make good use of that.
On one of the upper floors, you manage to locate a safe that looks to be very badly rusted over. From what you can see, a number of scavengers tried to break this open, but they couldn’t. They only got as far as scratching it and despite the rust, it’s still shut and quite securely locked. You decide to make note of this, figuring the Emissaries might want to look into get this open as it could be loaded with cash and other valuables. You figure attacking it isn’t going to work, it’s pretty strong and despite the rust, still very much intact. But you can discern that first, they’d need to do something about the rust. And then after looking at the safe, not only that, but they’re going to need the actual 3 digit safe combination to turn into the dial.
{Rusted Safe: Rust Remedy AND 3 Digit Safe Combination} was noted in the Team Records.
You search the rest of the surviving apartments, but they’re pretty much trashed and don’t have anything that’s worthwhile. Either scavengers already took all that was worth going after in this place or there’s not much worth to it.
You decide to head back to town, still satisfied with what you got out of this morning.
