Haven’t played Pokémon Conquest, but I’d like to try my best with this anyway. Though if I make a goof, please let me know!

Character's name (try to make it some somewhat Japanese, at least) Kaze Burakku
Character's age (age 14 to 17 is fine) 17
Character's physical appearance (what your character basically looks like) Kaze stands roughly 6’2” and weighs about 175 pounds. With short, black hair, a fair skin tone, green eyes, and a slightly muscular body frame, Kaze relies more on cunning wit, speed, and resourceful thinking rather than raw power.

Kaze wears a dark, forest green cloak over a brown cloth tunic, both of which have some wear and tear to them. He also has a few leather pouches on a brown leather belt that surrounds his waist. Meanwhile, he wears a pair of brown leather boots. Typically, he never uses blades and barely uses metal objects to begin with. He usually wears a smug smile as very little depresses him or gets him anxious, though it does get others wondering what’s he up to next.

Character's personality/known history (what your character is like, and what spurred them to be who they are today--and what they hope to be in the future?) Kaze isn’t like your other typical druids, who are mostly serious in nature and have strict guidelines. Instead, Kaze is more unorthodox in his approaches, willing to try anything and everything to get to a solution. He also doesn’t quit easily, and if he needs to make a run for it to survive, he’ll do it, but he’ll intend on still finishing the job later if he is confident he can (and usually he is).

He’s also whimsical and almost comically optimistic. Instead of trying to fight with pure brawn and power, he’ll look for other more devious and downright mischievous solutions instead. Very often his opponents don’t expect it, though a lot of his fellow druids often look down upon his less-than-honorable strategies that may work, but break the norm completely. His tactics are often encouraging to others, as where they might have given up, Kaze usually feels there a way to win, it’s just a matter of digging around to find it, and usually it’s a strategy that no one expects. He’s very much a wild card in that regard and his Pokémon have grown with him to be the same way.

Kaze was born in Greenleaf and lived there most of his life. All throughout his childhood, he loved the outdoors and staying close to nature and its Pokémon. From an early age, his parents forbid him from having Pokémon of his own and wanted him to grow up to be a tailor and inherit his father’s tailoring business, but he had no interest in it at all. After they were completely unwilling to compromise in any shape or form, he ran away from home and joined a small band of druids known as the Buranchi. At first the Buranchi were skeptical about Kaze’s abilities until they saw the young boy’s passion for nature unfold. Where others in the guild grew exhausted, Kaze was often “wait, the training session’s over already?” He thoroughly enjoyed learning the druidic magic and especially enjoyed the ability to become a Pokémon for a short while.

As all druids were given a Pokémon as part of their initiation, Kaze’s first Pokémon was an Oddish, fairly common around the Greenleaf kingdom as the Buranchi were limited in what kinds of Pokémon they could provide for their young initiates. Kaze named the Oddish Ōen as the Oddish seemed to be downcast being with other initiates that had originally rejected and disapproved of the Oddish while Kaze was just happy and appreciated having a Pokémon companion. As time went on, eventually Kaze befriended and added Dasshu the Emolga and Gairu the Minccino, who eventually became a Cinccino after Kaze evolved him.

When Kaze grew to be 14, he eventually took on assignments to help Buranchi’s effort’s to protect the kingdom and keep the forces of nature in balance, making sure those that sought to disrupt them were stopped before any of their dark plans came to pass. His enemies really didn’t like the experience of fighting against Kaze, as there’s almost no limit to the nonsense he’s willing to go to in order to meet his goals.

Now that Kaze is 17 but still very much a wild child at heart, he was chosen by the Buranchi to be the one to answer the village elder’s request to protect Juno at all costs. Seeing as how Juno was destined to be the harbinger of a new age of peace, Kaze was committed to lending his skills and experience to help Juno accomplish this critical goal. Still, to this day his combat tactics and strategies are a homebrewed mixture of his learnings as a Buranchi druid and his own unorthodox mischief and cunning wit. He’s confident whatever or whoever Nobunaga throws his way won’t be ready for what he’s got in store for them.

Character's skills (does your character prefer to fight unarmed, with a weapon, with magic, or with something else, like a puppet, paintbrush, or parasol?) Best way to think of Kaze is as a Dungeons and Dragons druid. His magic consists of the forces of nature (fire, wind, earth, and water) as well as his ability to transform (essentially Wild Shape) into a Pokémon species he’s seen up close before (so no legendaries, very rare, or extremely dangerous and untamed powerful Pokémon that would have been dangerous for him to approach) for a max duration of three hours before he’s forced to revert back to his original human form. Also, he can’t cast druid spells while as a Pokémon, but he’s able to use a few of the Pokémon’s moves (the more he’s practiced with the form, the more powerful the moves he can use).

In terms of D&D, Kaze knows Druid spells like these that are level 4 and under.

Typically, if he takes on the form of a Pokémon (all of his belongings and clothing merge with his new form), he’ll try to perform the transformation without anyone witnessing it in action, such as taking cover in a bush or hiding behind a wall. He also tends to like transforming into one of his three own Pokémon (Ōen the Bellossom, Dasshu the Emolga, or Gairu the Cinccino) and in battles, act and attack as they do, which really throws the enemy off as they can’t tell which one is Kaze and which one is the actual Pokémon. At first Ōen, Dasshu, and Gairu couldn’t quite understand what he was doing, but after years of deploying this fond strategy time and time again, they have come to expect it and know exactly how to work with it, which they’ve come to enjoy.

Kaze carries two main weapons, a brown, oaken staff about five feet long that he uses to channel his nature magic. If he were to ever become unarmed or unable to use it, he does have a backup yew wand that he keeps by his side, which isn’t quite as effective as the staff in terms of magic channeling and casting, but it’s still effective. And if even the yew wand were to leave his grasp or be destroyed, he’s still capable of his nature magic unarmed, but it’s not quite as fast and as effective.

Character's known Pokemon, if any (up to 3--any non-Legendary among the 896 known Pokemon is allowed)

Ōen the Bellossom – Ōen has been with Kaze since the very beginning and after being rejected by three other Buranchi initiates, he found his place with Kaze. A lot of Kaze’s personality resonates with Ōen’s. Kaze isn’t like a typical Buranchi druid and Ōen isn’t a typical jubilant, dancing Bellossom (which they both take a very satirical approach with and also throws off everyone’s expectations). They love their dash of mischief and breaking the rules and the norm and neither of them is afraid to get their hands dirty.

Dasshu the Emolga – Dasshu, on the other hand, was a mischief maker right from the start, stealing berries, fruit, nuts, and other prankish and impish behavior. He tried to steal Kaze’s lunch with such antics, only to run into a human that is already well-versed in this kind of behavior! Kaze caught the sky squirrel red-handed using his cloak and tried to tie him up into a sack, only he tripped and both him and the Emolga ended up crashing face-first into Kaze’s lunch of fresh fruit and berries, covering both of their faces with juices and mashed berries. It was such a comical outcome that the Emolga took a liking to this young trainer and decided to accompany him at first before ultimately becoming his second Pokémon companion after enjoying the antics.

Gairu the Cinccino – Gairu was found by Kaze as a Minccino that was abandoned and rejected by his original trainer. At first, Gairu was shy, doubtful of his own abilities, and a bit depressed, feeling like there was no one in the world that he could befriend and make as a human companion. He was about to give up and return to the wild to live on his own until Kaze and the rest of his crew showed up. Kaze saw the Minccino and offered him a berry, a kindness that Gairu was unfamiliar with. He decided to take a chance with this new trainer and accompany him. At first, Gairu was slow to adopt the kind of antics and nonsense shenanigans Kaze and his other two Pokémon enjoyed, but eventually he opened up and simply enjoyed the freedom of it.

Character's current inventory (what is your character currently carrying?)
  • 1,000 sen (though Kaze doesn’t really live a lifestyle that relies too much on money)
  • Oaken Staff
  • Yew wand
  • Fruit and Berries (Kaze has a lot of these and knows the magic to rapidly grow his own)
