Check out the latest UNITE news!
Following the initial teasers that Blastoise would eventually be added into Pokemon UNITE, it’s been officially confirmed that the Kanto starter will finally make its debut into the MOBA title. According to the release trailer, Blastoise is slated to be released on September 1, so fans will not have to wait much longer to start using the water starter. Currently there are no further details about potential Holowears or anything else of the sort, but we can give a breakdown of what sort of role Blastoise will play once it is introduced.

Blastoise is a special attacking ranged style Defender with an Intermediate difficulty. For its first special, Blastoise has access to Water Gun, Hydro Pump, and Water Spout. Water Gun and Water Spout both reduce the movement speed of Blastoise’s targets while Hydro Pump shoves opponents away. For its second special, Blastoise can learn Skull Bash, Surf, and Rapid Spin. Surf and Skull Bash leaves opponents temporarily unable to move, while Rapid Spin changes the mechanics of its basic attacks as well as its Hydro Pump and Water Spout moves. Surf also allows the user to become immune to hindrances while using this move and can jump in a designated direction once this move ends. Blastoise also has the ability Torrent and the UNITE move, Hydro Typhoon, which has the user spout water to attack while spinning, throwing opposing Pokémon in a large area. This also grants the user a shield. Blastoise evolves from Squirtle and Wartortle at levels 5 and 9 respectively.

That’s all the information we have on Blastoise for now, but stay tuned for more information as we get closer. Additionally, it has been confirmed that there have been 2.5 million pre-registrations of Pokémon UNITE on mobile, due for release on September 22nd. This means the gift of a Pikachu Unite License will be given to all mobile players at launch. If players reach 5 million pre-registered by launch, all players will get a special Pikachu Festival Holowear.
So let’s get playing and until next time, see ya!
