Check out what’s new in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl!

As players explore Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, they’ll cross paths with friends and opponents alike. Face powerful trainers and Pokémon as you journey through the Sinnoh region in the Generation 4 remakes.
The Bosses of Team Galactic

The mysterious Team Galactic has begun their quest to take over the Sinnoh region, and it’s up to you to stop them! But who exactly is the brains behind this space-themed operation? As you travel through Sinnoh, you’ll encounter a series of planetary themed chiefs as you foil their plans to destroy the region.
Mars
Mars is a strong-willed commander who hates to lose and has sworn loyalty to Cyrus. Her passion for Pokémon sometimes inspires powerful emotional outbursts. As one of the first admins you’ll face on your journey, she makes quite the powerful foe due to her partner Pokémon: the fearsome Purugly! New trainers beware, this normal-type cat packs quite the punch and shouldn’t be underestimated.
Jupiter
Jupiter has a mysterious air about her. She is certainly skilled at Pokémon battles, but she’s willing to do anything—even steal other people’s Pokémon—to achieve her goals. Another foe that shouldn’t be underestimated, her partner Pokémon is Skuntank, a dual Poison and Dark type. With only a weakness to Ground-type attacks and access to strong moves like Night Slash and Flamethrower, Skuntank can easily wipe out entire teams if trainers aren’t prepared.
Saturn
Saturn is a cool and collected commander. Despite being one of the few who occasionally harbor doubts about Cyrus’s plans, Saturn is cold and dispassionate enough to carry out his orders faithfully. His partner Pokémon is Toxicroak, the Toxic Mouth Pokémon. This dual Poison Fighting type frog strikes hard and fast, either by knocking out its opponents quickly with powerful moves like Revenge, or by wearing them down by poisoning them with Poison Jab. Even Psychic-types might be too frail to handle its Faint Attack!
Cyrus
A charismatic figure who rules over Team Galactic. Cyrus always speaks and acts with a calm, logical demeanor. He detests human minds and emotions, finding them defective. While his exact plans for Sinnoh remain unknown at this time, it’s up to the player to ensure that he is stopped at all cost. With Pokémon like Weavile at his disposal, be prepared for some strong Dark and Ice type attacks as prepare to battle him for the fate of Sinnoh!
The Toughest Pokémon Trainers in Town: Gym Leaders

Team Galactic won’t be the only tough opponents you’ll have to face on your journey through the Sinnoh region. Eight Gym Leaders stand ready to battle you as you make your way towards the Pokémon League as well! Meet the final two opponents you’re set to face on your championship journey!
Candace
Gym Leader Candice of the Snowpoint City Gym uses Ice-type Pokémon, with Abomasnow heading her team. Known as the Diamond Dust Girl, she’s a passionate Trainer who really emphasizes the value of focus. Don’t let Abomasnow’s double weakness to Fire-types fool you. The Frost Tree Pokémon has access to the ability “Snow Warning”, which sets up Hail as soon as it enters battle. This not only boosts the power of Ice-type attacks, it also damages any Pokémon that aren’t part Ice-type! Yikes! And with this as her lead Pokémon, there’s no telling what other powerful Pokémon she might have up her sleeve as her ace.
Volkner
Gym Leader Volkner of the Sunyshore City Gym uses Electric-type Pokémon, with Luxray heading his team. He’s said to be the strongest Gym Leader in the Sinnoh region, but he’s grown bored by a lack of tough challengers, so he spends his time constantly remodeling the Gym. Will you be able to shock him back to his senses and reignite the passion in his heart for battling? Only the most electrifying of battles will do!
Three Lakes and Three Legendaries

Sinnoh features three lakes filled with bountiful water: Lake Acuity, Lake Verity, and Lake Valor. It is said that Legendary Pokémon slumber at the bottom of these lakes. According to the people of Sinnoh, these Pokémon are known as: Uxie, the Being of Knowledge; Mesprit, the Being of Emotion; and Azelf, the Being of Willpower. Who exactly are these Pokémon and what role will they play in your adventures through Sinnoh? You’ll just have to play Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to find out.
