Update for those wishing to see Florida.
Pokemon has made an update to their Regional schedule. The long story short of it, they have cancelled Florida Regionals which was to take place in Orlando, Florida on April 1st to 3rd.
The Pokemon Championship Series is suppose to start off this March in Salt Lake City, Utah. This season is will be a continuation of the cancelled 2020 season. Several Regional dates and International dates have been announced. All of this to lead up to the World Championships in London. Though, this will have to take place without a Regional in Florida.
Reason for Cancellation

Below is the reason for the cancellation of Florida Regionals:
While we prefer not to cancel events, the safety and well-being of our community is our top priority. Due to changes in government regulations and restrictions in the state of Florida, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Florida Regional Championships.
This is most likely due to a recent law that bans asking for vaccine status/proving vaccinated status. This goes against Pokemon’s position regarding vaccinations. In order to play in large Pokemon events, you must be full vaccinated and wearing a mask.
This new law in Florida will make it impossible for Pokemon to enforce their vaccination requirements. Thus, it has been decided to cancel the event due to being unable to promise the safety of Pokemon players.

Advice to Players

We suggest that if you do plan to partake in any Pokemon Regional events that you ensure that your plane or hotel have a refund policy. That way you do not lose money in case the event is later cancelled. Pokemon will make decisions to hold events depends on the situation with Covid. They have been really careful in ensuring that players will be able to play safely without worry of catching Covid.
We wish players who are going to Regional events the best of luck and to stay safe. Get vaccinated and wear your mask!
