It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for Crossroads Comics!

This week, I’m still recovering emotionally from cracking through Pokémon Legends Arceus, so we’re going to do a mini-spotlight! In theme with Legends Arceus, we’re going to take a look at Ask a Staravia. This is an interactive ask blog comic that takes place in the Hisui region. Based on The Alolan PokeNerd‘s ongoing nuzlocke of the game, the story follows hodge-podge collection of Pokčmon who work for the Galaxy Team.

This comic only just started a little while ago and isn’t very far along, but I still wanted to spotlight it because I’m already very impressed with the comic so far. The Alolan PokeNerd has been working on their human drawing skills a lot as of late, and I think both their design skills and understanding of human anatomy show up quite well in this comic. Takeo in particular is a very solid blend of the default uniform design in Legends Arceus and Oshawott’s typical design. It’s a really solid combination and The Alolan PokeNerd does very well to exemplify that.

So far Takeo is one of the only two gijinkas shown as far, though others have been hinted out, so I’m curious to see how they’ll look. I’m also curious to see how The Alolan PokeNerd handles NPCs. Characters like Captain Cyllene have established designs and roles, so I’m curious to see if they’ll be gijinka-ified or if they’ll be replaced by new characters entirely.
All in all, it’s a great comic that once it gets further along, you can expect to see a more thorough review of in the future!
